Soggy Saturday...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Soggy Saturday...

Postby grammynmaggie » Sat May 13, 2017 5:55 am

Good morning all... it's soggy here but not from rain it is a gray cloudy day and there is dew dripping everywhere... my news for today is had an offer on the house that I accepted and they want a quick closing... that's okay with me except it's a little scary I have no place to go.... there was a lot of stuff left so Habitat for Humanity is coming on the 23rd to get the rest of it I hope the rest of it... I still have a lot to do the humanity people want everything in boxes all the small stuff and I have to finish getting my stuff to storage... was at the park last evening I bring Pheebe down here to walk it's easier and she is more calm than walking in the streets in the neighborhood... anyway we were walking along the river there was some people fishing and all of a sudden a bunch of commotion and I went over to see ...a man brought in a 60 pound shark was pretty cool... I never seen alive in your face shark even though it was a small one... after all the picture taking he put it back in the water... you never know what you're going to see in this park and if I have to leave this area I am going to miss it... well I better get to work...B safe...donna

Oh Donna, that is great news. The moment you've worked so hard to
get to. A place to land will certainly turn up. Scary, but think of the
trials and tribulations you've already overcome.I'm very happy for
you.
My agenda for today includes covering the box valence over my dinette
to a solid color that will blend with my curtains. No sew, just tuck and
pin. Got the coffeepot hung yesterday and will try to finish the shelf in
the next couple days.
One last dermatology appt on Tuesday and I'll be done there until fall.
Still waiting to hear from my reg. Dr. on the scan. I will call him on
Monday.
Lot of little things in the works to get accomplished, not worth
mentioning. Y'all have a great day, be safe, relax and enjoy.

I planned to take Thursday off, worked most of the day. So I only put in a few hours yesterday. My whole life is jello! But my last workamper, not here yet, had to cancel. So if anyone is interested?? Barbie, you could really start a new adventure with your new tt and work with Linda for a couple months? I did place ads last night... So if you're interested Barbie, shout out :) Or anyone else!

it's a beautiful morning so I'm going to try to get a good walk in with Peaches as some thunderstorms will most likely come through this afternoon.

Congrats, Donna!

Donna, so glad you are almost finished with the house.

We got Harold into a rehab place in Lafayette. There are 2 places closer but I have never been happy with any health facility in Abbeville. There are limited visiting hours so we don't feel like someone has to be there all the time. His friends have been so good about going to see him. They like to joke with him. It takes a couple of minutes but he has a come back for them. If they can get him back to walking they will be miricle workers.

The cats have sure missed me. Especially CC and Annie. Every time I sit down I have one or two cats in my lap. My son sent me a video of cats saying mom instead of meow. I'm glad mine can't say mom or they would never shut up.

It looks like Florida is getting rain. Hope it's enough to help with the fires.

Congrats Donna, what a relief on one hand and lots of work on the other. You will get er done. Loved the pic of the shark. I havent seen one up close and personal either only in aquariums.

Not too much on the agenda today as our weather is not being very cooperative. Oh well I will have time next week.

Took the RV to the smog station and got my new tags for the next 2 years. Also took Emma with me for her first Motorhome experience. She just hunkered down in her carseat and slept part of the way. Not much seems to rattle this pup. I was pleased because there are lots of strange noises at times when going down the road.

Waiting to hear more from Barbie and her new tow vehicle and travel trailer. Happy you found a good place for Harold. That is often not an easy task.

well off to the shower and a walk for the pup

Donna I'm so glad that task is almost behind you. What a relief once it's done.
We have had unseasonably cooler weather with only one 90 degree in a week and mostly 70's. Truly very nice. Even said we may catch a shower on Sunday.
Not much planned here. CT scan Monday will help determine what is next in Mels treatment. Our life seems to resolve around that at least for now. Praying scan show little to no change in the spots they found. And that his radiation oncologist has some ideas when we see her the following week.
Have a Happy Mother's Day tomorrow everyone, whether Mom to human children or 4 footed kids or surrogate Moms to others, it's a day to remember important role we play.

Good MorningAll, Lots going on on the Forum! Donna sold the house! That's great. Slowly you are making progress. Loved the shark story. You might have read that a young woman was bitten by a shark here in San Diego County. My granddaughter was in the ER when she was brought in. The entire back of her leg and buttocks were gone! She said it was a gory mess. Woman is doing better now and will need many, many surgeries to heal the wounds.
Ava, your avatar is so good! Wish I had that skill. If you go north, don't forget the Eagle Lake GTG.
Martha, I bet it is a relief to get Harold into a rehab facility. If you still have that drinking cup from the Ragin Cajins, and you see Sharon, give it to her to bring to me.
I took my TT up to Lancaster to get some work done on it. Had to replace the stabilizer on the rear that I knocked off by backing into a small cement wall. Didn't get out and look before backing up which is a NO_NO. I stayed o'noc at the Antelope County Fair Grounds...very nice if you are in the area. Got new sun glasses as the old ones kept falling off. Didn't need a new prescription tho.
Had the sore on my face biopsied and it is skin cancer. Basil cell...so mohns surgery in early June for me. At our old Water Safety Instructors luncheon this week, we all sat around comparing our skin cancers! We all have them as we were out in the sun and in the water as youngsters.
Beth, hope you get that worker you need.
Lots of softball on TV now so been staring at the tube quite a bit.
Good Morning Velda...thanks for keeping us informed on Mel's treatment.

Lyn, wish I had thought about bringing the cup when I went to Texas. Maybe I will run into Sharon again while she is on this side of the country.

Congratulations, Donna, on the offer and sale! Get 'er done and get on the road. Don't worry about finding another place right away. Enjoy some traveling this summer, and you can live in your RV until you find a location that suits you. You can always try out some cgs on a monthly basis to save money and get to know an area.

So glad you found a suitable rehab facility for Harold. I pray they can help him regain some independence, as that will make things easier for you too.

Today was moving day for me on the Blue Ridge, but not too far. I got a late start due to heavy fog and remaining rain showers from the front that came through last night. Then at my first planned stop near Asheville (just a 30 minute drive) was full, so I continued to the next NP cg (Crabtree Falls). It was only another 1 1/2 hours and by then the sun was out. I'll stay here two nights and hike the trail to the falls tomorrow when it is supposed to be sunny and warmer.

I forgot it was mother's day tomorrow, but I knew it was soon. Maybe I'll hear from my busy kids. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Kind of late here but just wanted to check in.

Congrats Donna on selling the house! Once you close on it you will feel a ton on relief! Then on to your new adventures!

Martha, I hope things go good for Harold's recovery. Good that his friends are stopping by to cheer him up!

Beth, I would love to join you gals but still have too many things going on here to take care of before I can leave.

I have been very busy working. Had to fill in on my day off this week for a coworker who's mom had a stroke and passed away. Got off work early today and headed up to the new Camping World. Today was their last day of their Grand Opening sale. I got a few things I know I need. Still not sure on some other things like hoses, extension cords, etc. Haven't pulled all that out from the storage bays yet to see what all is there. Also need to order the WDH and electric brake controller.

Getting the inside of Happy organized and decorated the way I want. I really love how roomy it feels in there. A little tight on the bed with the bunk right above it but will have to get used to that. My friend came by yesterday and explained more about how things work in/on the camper. I joined the Keystone Forum the other day to learn more about this camper brand specifically.

Been gorgeous weather here. Upper 70's and sunny for past several days and on into Monday before more rain comes in. The camper is a little musty smelling so I opened the windows up to air it out some. Also need to get the camper de-winterized soon.

Got my little Jeep back yesterday. The window is fixed. The rattle underneath was just a loose metal strap that was vibrating against the muffler so that got fixed too. She got a clean bill of health after a thorough inspection by my mechanic, so she's good to go for putting up for sale now.

Today is Birthmother's Day (always the day before Mother's Day). Need to send a subtle reminder to my daughter's parents about a visit soon!

Hope all is well with the rest of you!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
