Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rain on a Sunday?

Postby grammynmaggie » Sun Apr 23, 2017 8:03 am

Good morning all.... we need some rain looks like we might get some.... I am back from Dowling Park visiting Liz and her new park model home... what a great RV home base... her new home is beautiful if not little after all it's a Park Model... I took it two days to get back to Melbourne... stop to visit Nan the first night... took off from there in the morning was not paying attention and missed the turn by the time I figured out I was going the wrong way but not really I looked at Google Maps and I seen Clermont with straight across from where I was... so I just put Clermont in my GPS and took a bunch of back roads it was great easy driving easy looking just plain easy... stop at the Walmart in Clermont locked myself out of the RT... called for assistance the person they sent was a young man who had not been trained properly who I was fearful of ruining my passenger door he called his boss the boss says try the other door so he did and it got right in ...they did not have a proper receipt... they did not have a proper name for the company he wouldn't even tell me the name of the company I think it was... I'm not sure but kind of fly-by-night outfit it ... he tried to add on $100 over what I agreed to pay.. to say I did not pay it... more to the story but that's enough... and in that process I had to race all over the parking lot and Walmart and agitated my bad foot... anyway I just loaded up the car with another batch to take to my storage unit slowly but surely... I have to be done with my end of the job and 7 days... they come May 1st to set up for the estate sale.... I would be one happy camper if my foot would quit hurting and I could act like a normal person.... well that's enough of my tale of Woe... but things are looking better that's my attitude better better better...B safe ...donna

Good Morning Donna and Everyone !! Rain, yes, and I'm driving in the mountains. I've stopped at Smokey Mt rest area in hopes heaviest part will pass over while I goof off here. Only 60 some odd miles from home but have a wiper that is coming apart and of course it's Sunday morning. My own fault when I had RV serviced they said one was bad but I decided to wait and get at Reilly's or some such place be soooo much cheaper, fella agreed with me, so here I am because I procrastinated. (forgot, the memory you know). Huge reminder this morning.

Donna, I'm so sorry your foot is bothering you so much, you'd probably be done by now. I'm sure not anxious to get home. Took the long route have wanted to do this for ages and now it's rainy but hoping to still enjoy. Will stop in town as I go through and buy a few groceries so I won't have make any trips anywhere for a few days. My A/C is NOT working right, so that's still a problem. Mr Peanut, is a joy ! He lays on his pillow by my side while I drive, soon as we stop he's up  He's sleeping right now, guess rain makes him sleepy too .

Rain is needed in so many places, not sure about up here, but hoping those who need it for all the fire areas get some of this heavy stuff. flooding and possibly 4 inches to fall in my area.

Stay Safe Everyone, Enjoy your day wherever or whatever you're doing !!!

Good morning gals!
Slept at the new house last night. It is kind of a makeshift bedroom in the basement but will do for the summer. The window is stuck open but will be getting fixed this week. Meanwhile, it was really cold in here overnight! Good thing I brought 3 blankets with me. Need to find my space heater for tonight! Nice out here in the country hearing frogs, crickets, birds, and even coyotes a bit last night.

Sunny today and supposed to be near 70 so that makes it nice for moving!

Lola isn't too happy yet. Will take her awhile to get used to being confined again in a smaller space. She got spoiled at my dad's house.

Will head back to the old house in a bit and sort thru what is left there. My brother got rid of a ton of stuff with his "free" garage sale yesterday! I was so tired last night but very sore all over so had a hard time getting to sleep with my muscles all spasming. Took a muscle relaxer and finally got to sleep.

Gotta get off here now. My laptop battery is dying and I forgot my charger at the old house. Have a great day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning, We have sunshine and cool temps, perfect!! Busy day yesterday, I posted Elsie to RV Trader Friday and immediately had several replies and calls! I also listed on the St Louis Craig's and two people came yesterday and another may come today. I called the mechanic who has always done any maintenance to ask what engine was in it and told her I was selling. She said she knew someone who would be very interested and so I'm taking it to her garage tonight for her to show him when he comes to town tomorrow. Figure that is about as good a recommendation one could want! I've had one offer but it wasn't as much as I think I can get so told them I'd get back to them after Monday. Wish me luck, the cooler weather I like won't last much longer and I'm a hermit in the summer. Who knows in a newer RV I might brave enough to go to a cooler place.
Hope everyone has a good day. I see Liz is on the road again.

Time to invest in roadservice, Donna. AAA or Good Sam. It would pay for itself in one service call like that one.

Donna, hope Florida gets rain to put out the fires. Our % of rain kept going up and down all day yesterday. It finally rained a little during the night but not enough to knock out the tv signal. If you called one of the membership road services for your lock out you need to report these guys. The road service will know who they sent. Yesterday after going to Bed, Bath and Beyond, Tuesday Morning and Sam's my foot hurt too much to go to Walmart. That means I have to go this afternoon. I could go in the morning but that would take an hour I could be on the road.

Our temperature went down to 58 last night. It got kind of cool in the house but good sleeping weather. Barbie, if you are hearing coyotes you better keep Lola inside.

Thursday night I was late feeding the outside cats and when I got up on the porch I could hear something in the field behind the neighbors house. There is an area that they throw corn to attract wild hogs. There were between 10 and 15 hogs eating. I told my son that the neighbors would be cleaning hogs soon. Last night my son said they were shooting. Wild hogs do a lot of crop damage and there are some in the state park again. The park is only about 2 or 3 miles from here through the woods.

Tina, that is so cool. And Karen, were your ears ringing?

Donna, I wouldn't be without road service. I won't recommend AAA for rv's, but definitely you should have one and even they are better than none.

We are having a gorgeous day here in the Black Hills. I did my 1st drive of Custer State Park for the season. I saw Lots of buffalo and Pronghorn, as well as white tailed deer (the ones by my campsite are mule deer and fed a couple of the donkeys. Stopped quickly by the prairie dogs. Truly enjoyed the ride. Trees are starting to bud, so it'll look a lot different in view weeks.

Yesterday I learned that the place in town I go for ice cream was open for the weekend. They open daily May 2nd. I'm taking the workers here already down for ice cream yet this afternoon. And I'm considering getting a pizza.

Tomorrow the weather will be dropping and either Tuesday or Wed we won't get out of the 30's. Yikes. I'm going to go fill my water tank and unhook my water till this passes.

Whew! Another long busy day! Got most of my stuff out of the house now. Just a little bit left but I was so tired and sore this afternoon that I just had to give up for the day. My brother and his wife helped me bring a load of stuff to the new house along with the patio swing. Now I can sit outside and enjoy the sounds of nature and look at the duck pond and rolling farm hills on the other side of it.

I definitely will not be letting Lola outside here unless she is on a leash! :o

I have seen a few creepy crawlies here so am taping around the window and doors. There is a door in my room that leads to the lower level garage and that may be where they are coming in so I taped all around that. I pushed the windows in from the outside and taped them shut so it should be a little warmer in my room tonight. I also have my space heater in case it still gets cold. Should be OK tho. Also have a little humidifier on since it smells a little mildewy in here too. Typical basement issues.

My back and neck hurt again tonight. More Advil and muscle relaxers coming...

Should have the old house completely cleaned out tomorrow and then I can relax on Tuesday before heading back to work. Am going to make an appointment for Tuesday for a massage. With the haircut sale coming up, I need to get feeling better before that starts! Don't want to add insult to injury!

The younger daughter came in to my room tonight to meet Lola. She is a 16 year old special needs girl and is very sweet. Lola surprised me and just after a few minutes, went right over to her, rolled on her back asking for a belly rub! It usually takes her a long time to get that comfortable around strangers.

We are also supposed to start getting colder after tomorrow but I will be working from Weds, thru next weekend so I don't care anyways.

Hope you all had a good weekend!

WOW this sure does qualify for the "Small World Title". What were the chances of you meeting her like that. I think this is a fabulous story. Christy was a big help to me when I was wanting a puppy and she got great recommendations from the other Tibbie breeders. I am excited you got to meet her. I havent LOL

This raising a puppy is hard business tho. We finally went for a walk on a leash to my mailbox (about a block) and she walks like a puppy on crack LOL but she didnt spin around and pull like the first few lessons she just has wander syndrome like between and around my feet. But we have made progress. Now working on her wailing every time I leave the room...sigh

Barbie that is interesting about Lola and the young lady...I think pets sense different things...for games the last couple of weeks we went to one of the homes...usually I don't take Shadow but we were playing games one last time while waiting for tires to be put on the trailer...Shadow never barked at Mel's husband who doesn't see well being 90 I think, he has health issues...at one time Shadow went over wouldn't have surprised me if he wasn't looking for a comfortable lap but came back to me when I called him...I actually was quite impressed with his behavior.
