The Color Purple, Alice Walker, written 1983

Has anyone read this book? What did you think about it? I have barely opened to Chapter 1 but have heard professional reviews and wondered what us commoners might think. I don't think it is a book that I will sit up until 3 a.m. reading, but you never know.

I read it but it was years ago. I liked it at the time. Books are interesting as they often have different effects when read at different points in time and in our lives. I read it before the movie came out if that tells how long ago......

Well the movie was good!! I'm not a book reader simply because it takes so long to get through it.
