When we started to head back to Lahaina, we were surrounded by what the captain described as a pod of about 250 spinner dolphins. They were fast and hard to get a pic. They jump out of the water and spin in the air - thus their name. They're small compared to what we usually think of as a dolphin. They measure about 3-5 ft. and up to 150 lbs.

The banyan tree in Lahaina was planted on April 24, 1873. It spreads over 2/3 of an acre.

Goodbye Maui. I will surely miss you.

Gorgeous and sounds like the trip was fabulous. Yay! Thanks for the pics. I'm guessing Hawaii just might be the state I never get to. But you never know.

Would so love to go back. We spent 3 years in Hawaii after we were married. It's so beautiful.
Glad you got to share the experience with your family.
