Great weekend!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Great weekend!

Postby Colliemom » Sat Apr 08, 2017 7:25 am

Top O' The Morning to ya all, going to be a great weekend. Spring has sprung, at least for now 8-) 60-70 egree weather for next couple days. The ice is off the lakes, the birds are chirping, snowbird neighbors are returning etc. So I will be out doing yard work to clean up from old man winter.

One bit of tragedy up here though. A kayaker went out on Otsego Lake about 2 miles north here and has been missing since Thursday. Search is underway for the body. He was spotted by a lake resident who noticed awhile later the kayak was overturned. The ice had just gone out the day before and it was very rough out there. Young man who was a disabled vet, with 2 tours of duty in Iraq. Loved to fish and kayak his parents said. Was always on the lake, so probably couldn't wait. Lake is 5 miles long and a mile wide, so not an easy search.

Cheryl is enjoying her new rig this weekend, BJ getting interest on Elsie, so things looking up there. Lyn, glad you enjoyed your trip and arrived home safely. As for me, time to get cleaned up and dressed. Have a nice day everone.

Sue, we had a kayaker do the same thing here not too long ago. They get so anxious to get out there but the water is only 33* and they usually aren't wearing life jackets anyways. So sad!

A gorgeous day here too with mid 70's expected! Great day for the Open House! I am very nervous and excited! We are meeting here tonight to go over the offers and hopefully make a decision!

Hope you all have a great day! :D

Good morning all. Thanks, Sue, for sending us some nice weather! Was great to look out the window and see blue sky this morning! Yesterday was so nasty with snow flurries, wind and grey skies. Not to mention, cold! Still supposed to have wind today and 50's! I'll take it! Barbie, things are moving right along with the sale of a your dad's house! Good luck tonight. Lyn, nice to see you made it home. Despite the last few days you had! Beth, how's your trip north going! Agree that jello is good! Weather is so fickle this time a year!

I had to get a new batterybin my car yesterday. It died on me the other might and I was lucky to find a nice couple to jump it. So back to the dealer I went, sure don't need to worry about that all the time. Apparently the battery they put in at the factory isn't strong enough for all the electronics that have to draw on it even when it's off. I googled it and it's apparently a common problem and not just with Subaru but mentioned a couple other brands. My question was, why not put the better one in at the factory?! So guess time will tell.

Time to get busy! Need to get a couple things done in the house and if it warms up enough, I might be able to get outside for awhile this afternoon. Have a great week end and travel safe!

Got to get heading over to my aunt and uncle's house for the day. Got a good night's sleep at least. Need to program the new phone I got them that has photos or names on really big buttons and a big red "911" button to make dialing easier. Cold yesterday here is northern Georgia, but supposed to be up to 68 today. Got to run, but glad all seems to be well with everyone.

Good morning all... Was 51 this morning ...that is warming up nicely now only get up to high 70s today but with the hot sun it might as well be in the eighties... so far I've got two loads taking to my storage unit one the other day and one this morning... I'm have the car loaded with the third one... I have to do things the hard way but it is what it is all the totes that I had loaded stacked in the Florida room... I had to unload them and make them half full so they weren't too heavy for me to handle and I put them in the car take them to the storage unit and unload them again so they are all full and stack them in the unit... but I'm getting it done... this is hard work but it's exciting because I am making BIG progress.... I am sorting through them again and I'm getting rid of more stuff.... I have to have this done by the last day of April I'm going to have to have somebody help move my four pieces of small furniture...all for me ...B safe...

Good Morning, After our night and morning low clouds, the sun comes out and gives us a beautiful day! Yesterday our Padres opened their season down the street from the condo. So, loud music and lots of beer gardens and fast food places going strong. I do love all the excitement. I took Casey by the fire house, and, the firemen have bought a new dog container for the dog treats they give out. Casey ran and opened it with her nose and grabbed several treats before I could stop her!!! She is sure a smart dog when it comes to treats!
Our horrible Calif government is raising gas taxes and registration on cars again!!! I do not understand why people keep voting these same people back into power!
Casey goes to get a bath today at the dog wash place down the street.

Donna, it's so exciting to hear you talking about big progress. That must feel great.
O'Sharon, it's a beautiful day in Colorado today. I stayed at a Flying J last night... Not one of my favorite stops, but went further than planned and didn't want to possibly be driving at dusk/dark. So stayed there. Good part was I filled with propane this morning. That'll probably last all summer unless we have some really cold weather that my electric heater isn't good enough to handle. Got to my stop for two nights before 11 this morning. Two nights because it's supposed to be cold and windy tomorrow.

I'm at a city cg that offers electric... Water available (will fill my tank before leaving) dump station (used when I got here). Free first night. $20 for the extra night. My next stop will be another city cg, in Nebraska... They offer electric only, free up to two nights. I'll take the two nights if the predicted weather holds true and spend a day visiting sites in Scottsbluff. It's always been too windy when I've tried before.

Plan now will get me into Keystone Wednesday. But I'll watch weather. Thursday would work if necessary.

Peaches recognized it here. Funny, one night stays a few times and she was excited. Probably because there's grass here. The cg is next to the city park and across the street from nice little man made pond. I say pond because it's too small for me to say lake. We've already walked all around both. Peaches is napping.

Judy, good idea on the phone.

Lyn, Casey knows how to find treats!

Missed morning…so good afternoon! 80* here and it’s just a little too early for those temps. Fire bans are in effect for our county. The warm weather is good for the high school kids since the prom is tonight. First time in several years that the girls didn’t need to wear turtlenecks under their dresses.

Just came from our girl’s night out a while ago. It was fun. The concert goers said it was a fantastic show. Faye and I watched movies in the motel and I was able to add about 7” onto the afghan that I’m making. We decided that we are definitely getting old. I was able to stay awake past midnight, but then I had Bronc yesterday and we took about a two hour nap and I’m sure that helped.

Not much else new around here. Safe travels and good health to all.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I'm not sure how warm it is here but it is 75 in the house so A/C went on! I have the oven on so I'm hot. Had a one of those 'it's a small world" happenings today. I have posted my RV for sale on several sites and people have shared it to sites I never heard of, so I'm having lots of inquiries. One man who had messaged me yesterday, sent me a text today! I have my RV in for a spring check up and have a for sale sign in the window with my contact information. He lives in a nearby town and he was passing the place and saw it parked out front and went over to check it out and saw my for sale sign I have in the window. We talked and he seems interested but of course you never know until money is in hand. It would be funny if he is the one who buys it. Wish me luck the one I am looking at has all the things in it I wish Elsie had, plus it has only 20k miles!

We had another nice day at our campout. We showed our RV's from 11 to 3 and had quite a few people come by. Women talked about how cute they are and the men talked to me about the engine. lol We had a catered crawfish boil tonight and it was great. Nothing like having crawfish in the Crawfish Capitol. Carolyn came for the crawfish boil and to vist. Good to see her again. There is probably a campfire down the way but I am tired and my foot hurts so I called it a night.

BJ, hope it works out so you get your RV sold so you can get what you want.

Donna, glad you are making progress with the house. I know you will be happy to be finished with that.
