Don't know how many of you know this, friend brought it up to me, but LED lights as much as they are touted for energy savings etc. are damaging to our eyes. They give off a blue light that we don't see, but over time will cause eye issues. Ever notice how you get burning eyes or eye strain from being on computers etc. It's the LED light doing that. Do a little research online and you will find lots of info about it. Then decide if you want to replace your rigs lights with them.

LED lights aren't the danger some are touting. Especially current ones.

It sounds like indirect lights are not as much of a problem as computer screens because we seldom look directly at light bulbs. And all my fixtures are frosted, just like incandescent lights. Interesting to consider, however.

I know that my LED lights have caused me to make some strange fashion choices because they change the colors of some things. I have put on what looked like blue shorts only to go outside and find out they were green. I even went so far with a couple of pairs of shorts that I wrote the colors on the tags!

Judy, I have trouble telling black and navy blue apart. I have written the color in some pants because I have gotten outside and what I thought was one color was the other. I use to have some SAS loafers in black and navy. I managed to get to work a few times with one of each on. I finally put both pair in my vehicle in case I needed to change.

Martha, I can understand completely! Good solution to take both pairs along with you. What I try to do is pick out my outfit for the next day in late afternoon before the sun sets so I can lay it out on my bed next to my big back window! That way, I can see the color in the natural light. If I wait until morning, I end up with strange matches.

Last year, I bought several pairs of shorts from Kohl's that were identical except for the colors. (I like to have at least 14 pairs of shorts in case I cannot find a laundry for a while, which happens occasionally.) Anyway, Kohl's had this thing in the women's sizes where the colors were muted/dusty slate, muted/dusty blue, muted/dusty green, and beige. The only ones I could tell apart were the ones in beige because the others all looked very similar. Drove me nuts.

So this winter I bought some shorts from Bealls in Florida and also some again from Kohl's, but all are pretty much identifiable in all lighting! I still do have a couple of pairs of navy shorts that I cannot tell from the one pair of black shorts I have. :)

Sheila, I call off travel in 25+ mph that is a head or side wind. If the wind is a tail wind and radar shows consistent direction, I will drive in higher winds say 30-35 mph. However I have to see it on a radar that shows ground level winds. As a Class A I am like a cracker box driving down the road. My friend that hauls a 5th wheel says she doesn't feel the wind like I do. However, if it is strong enough wind it will blow a 5er over! Go with your gut!

It is OK to be a wuss with wind! Better safe than sorry! Those big gusts can come up very unexpectedly!

I agree--be a wuss. Winds are nothing to sneeze at when driving a high profile vehicle or pulling one.

It's a good thing I travel with lots of jello ... Nothing has gone to plan so far. First I decided to not go where I planned for the first night or two. Part of my reason was to try to meet up with Linda today. So I went the 2nd night to a state park I thought I'd spend a couple days on the beach. For those not on FB, I managed to get stuck TWICE! Haha. Moved up to a site not on the beach. And to meet Linda today, only one night.

Haha... I was almost to where we'd meet when I got a text that her check engine light was on and was at the dealer. I went on to the GPS location we'd intended to stay, figuring I'd wait for her till sometime tomorrow. After having to turn around once, I arrived at the location and I couldn't find anywhere I'd consider blm land. So I went on, after texting Linda.

Stopped at a casino I've overnighted before. Albuquerque is getting too big for their britches. The casino will only allow rv's in their lot free for 4 hours. Heck, that's not enough time to eat and gamble if I choose. So I asked how much for longer.... To park in the lot longer I'd have had to pay their overnight fee of $32 or $34! In their parking lot! I wondered why only one rv was there.

I wanted to be off the road in the next hour, so called ahead to a casino north of Albuquerque. They have sites with electric for $20. I didn't search any further.

Now I'm planning the next couple days... High wind advisory warning here for tomorrow. But didn't look bad for early, so I looked ahead thinking I could get to the state park I want to check out. Hahaha, jokes on me... First I'd have to drive through Santa Fe. They have a winter storm watch with winds for tomorrow, as does the state park. In the morning I'll check out the restaurants in the casino and pay for another night.

For those of you who need reservations, this actually helps explain why I dislike them. And why I give myself extra time. Winter storm watch, winds and temps look better for traveling Wednesday. Maybe Linda will catch up to me. And I'll carefully monitor weather for that state park I want to check out. It may or may not happen.

BTW, Peaches loved getting in the water at the lake yesterday. I'm still handling sand.

Beth, I am not sure what route you are heading on, but about 30 miles southeast of Santa Fe is Cochiti Lake. It is COE and absolutely gorgeous: https://www.recreation.gov/camping/map_ ... rkId=73127

Just checked and they have a ton of walk-in sites available for the next couple of weeks. If you aren't going that way, do check it out another time. Only $15 for us seniors. It is a bit chilly up there, but this place is more in the desert than the mountains.

Thanks, Judy. They are in the high desert area and in the winter weather advisory for mix of rain/snow tomorrow. I tried to stay there the end of April one year and the weather sent me on. Santa Fe is mixed bag. One day I'll get there. Last year would have worked. I got to a couple places I wasn't able to previous Aprils.
