No Special Topic Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

No Special Topic Friday

Postby IrishIroamed » Fri Mar 24, 2017 7:33 am

Mornin' ladies ~~~

Can you tell I had no brilliant idea for a topic today? :?

Got the new roof on the S&B yesterday. And also did the paperwork to rollover 401K to an IRA. Getting ducks in a row as the saying goes, so when I get fed up at work, I can just give 2 weeks, instead of the 3 months most people do, waiting for their $$ to transfer and start. Mine can then start immediately when the time comes. Would just have to decide on when to start the pension. My '60 and out' plan seem a lot more do-able now, but am in no real rush unless the jerk boss. . . well . . . you know.

Painter is still scheduled for April for the S&B. So if the house sells, that may be the deciding factor. Even tho houses are selling faster now, and back to a somewhat buyers market, you never really know how long it will take.

Ma's B-day today, so dinner tonight or tomorrow with her, waiting for her to decide when. That's it from the Chitown burbs.

Have a good day ladies & stay safe on the roads.
Cheryl

Movin on today after three peaceful days in beautiful green east TX. Casey has enjoyed it here too. Lots of little puppies to bark at and dance around on the grass "off leash". I recommend this "ranch" if you want to get away from it all for a few days. Hostess is nice too! Lyn

Good morning gals!
Rained all night and supposed to continue today. Warming up slightly here too.

Finally got my health insurance taken care of! Took a lot of phone calls and being put on hold for an hour or more each time! Grrr! But will finally have health insurance starting April 1st. It is not Obamacare, but a low-income health plan thru Minnesota. It is very good! I will only pay $61 per month and almost everything is paid 100%. Need to take advantage of it and get my physical, dental and eye exams done right away. Also a mammogram. Haven't had one of those for several years.

Got a $20 tip last night! I cut this guys hair and when he went up to pay, another stylist was trying to check out her client and was screwing everything up and very confused. After waiting several minutes for her and knowing my client was getting impatient, I just cleared her mess out of the computer and checked my guy out. I think he was so grateful that he gave me the large tip as a thank you. I am sure it wasn't all for the great haircut! (I then went back and helped the stylist get her guy checked out). Customer service pays!

Got things to do around here before heading back to work this afternoon. Then off tomorrow and getting more stuff done here. We have two weeks left to get everything cleared out and cleaned up before the house is put on the market. Hoping the weather gets a little nicer so we can get outside and clean up the yard some. That is our selling point.

Hope you all have a great day! Lyn, sounds like you found a great little spot to land for a bit!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning
well I'm going to have to replace the tv in the motor home. The one that's in there
is not a tv but a monitor. Its nice if you have cable or satellite, or just DVDs. I did
some comparison shopping yesterday, WalMart doesn't have what I need but Best
Buy did. Although I'm not fond of Best Buy, it fits and the price is right. Will go back
later today or tomorrow for purchase.
The weather has been a tad cool lately, even turned on the heater this morning!!
Time to get dressed and get busy. Y'all have a good day.

Today was to be a Desert Museum Day. Had to clear up a few things via phone this morning so ditched that idea as time was getting away from me. I intend to pull out a week from tomorrow... 4 work days in there... So it would make so much sense to take care of rig jobs I've been avoiding. Ah, if only I had sense. There's still a lot of day left, maybe I'll accomplish something yet. I have most of my electronics charging... That's something, right?

I did spend time last night putting together schedules for Keystone. Fingers crossed I don't have to make many changes there. I read everything some of you do daily (Sue lol) and don't know how you do it. At work, I'll get things done... Home, a totally different story.

Sue asked about Mel's foot. It's better though still a little swollen. He still has pain in one area near the joints behind the big toe. Still not sure but meanwhile his Primary Dr at VA had the pharmacy send him a month supply of Indomethacin, an anti inflammatory in the NSAID category and a bottle of the opioid Codeine with Tylenol. Never mind the fact that it's not only clearly on his record that he can't take opioids ( he stops breathing with central sleep apnea from opioids) or NSAIDS ( severe stomach pain and itching), but the pharmacy didn't catch either when they clearly should have! I am very upset! We reminded the Dr of both those last Friday at our 4 hour visit. Now she wants him to have a heart stress test at the VA. Mel said yes to that saying they did one before. Frankly I don't trust them!! I am calling VA Monday to ask pharmacy why they sent drugs he can't take and going to get him another DR and try to convince him not to let VA do the stress test.
It's been a rain off and on day here. Supposed to be clear tomorrow and more rain Sunday. Approaching our wettest year in recorded history, and yet, I'm not tired of rain or the green outdoors yet!
Have a good weekend everyone.

Velda, it's downright scary that the doctor prescribed meds he can't take. I'm glad you're paying attention!
