Monday again

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday again

Postby Colliemom » Mon Mar 13, 2017 7:56 am

Good Morning,

Another week begins. March moving along. Spring begins in 9 days. On the calendar anyway  I can tell the seasons are changing though. My winter birds are pretty much gone, a few around. The snow is all but gone, just been getting little light dustings, snowbirds are starting to return home and those folks whontake a "spring break" from winter are gone as it's very quiet up here, no traffic, church is emptier etc. and the sun is getting warmer too. But winter will give us one last hurrah before it's over.

Nothing much doing here, just plotting travel route to PA and back and figuring out a GTG site for IL for first week of Oct. And looking to maybe get a different TT this spring. Thinking SD again. The pull to goback out there is strong, but don't think it will be this year. I know there are supposed to be a few gals out that way though. Woild like to base around Keystone and go to some places I didn't get to before.

Time to get dressed and get the day moving. Have a nice day all.

Good morning! Sun is out for now and seeing blue sky! They finally put some numbers to snowfall amounts, 12"-18"! The boys were supposed to go to the groomer tomorrow but I called and canceled. It's not that far but figured no use gettting out in it! Plus the boys probably need their heavier coats! The grands are already thinking snow day or days! Sue, thanks for the reminder that spring is only 9 days away! Need to keep reminding myself of that! :D I went and had dinner with son and family last night, took a couple of containers and brought them back filled with yummy chicken soup! So don't have to cook for a couple of days!

Beth, glad you are okay after your scare the other day! Take care of yourself. Barbie, hope your knee is feeling better today. And still enjoying the reports and photos from the warmer parts!

Time for me to go get dressed and get busy. Don't have anything planned for today just normal stuff around the house! Have a great day and travel safe!

Good morning from cold and rainy Summerdale, AL. I am staying in the SKP park, in boon docking, and awaiting an electrical site.
Yesterday drove 246 miles and took all day to do so. Stopped lots and drove back roads. Yes, I am returning very slowly.
Barbie, that is a shame about your knee....don't you remember about slippery snow?

Good morning everyone... I know it's been awhile since I've been here so I'll try and catch up if anybody wants to know... had a great time camping at the GTG I did one blog post about it just a short one and I have more to do... this morning there was an estate sale lady here and she said she can probably have the sale for me but not till the first part of May she's all booked up... but that's okay I don't mind hanging in the heat for something like that... finally after all this time I do see a light at the end of the tunnel things are starting to move she even said she had some men that I could hire to help me move my stuff to a storage unit if I don't find a place to live before it's time for me to go north and I don't think that will happen but you never know... found a spot on my cheek that I have to get checked on Wednesday by the dermatologist and my foot still not better so I have to call and get a appointment with the doctor about that ...I hate getting old ...don't you... I put the for sale sign on my dad's car but the estate lady said if I don't sell it I could throw it in with the estate and she wouldn't take any money for that.... well that's all I got for right now everybody have a a good day & B safe...donna

Good afternoon...slept in today. Was supposed to work all day but called my manager last night and said I wasn't sure I could do a whole day with my sore knee. I will just do two hours later today.

When I fell, I was wearing my work shoes, not my hiking boots (those are my go-to winter boots for now) and I was coming out of the store and took my keys out of my pocket. I felt something else fall out of my pocket too so I turned around quick to see what that was, and that is when I slipped and fell. Turns out it was just my grocery list!
My knee feels OK today other than just a little sore and bruised. Could have been a lot worse. My wrist is a little sore too, probably trying to break my fall, but not too bad.

We got about 4 inches of snow but it is already starting to melt from the sun. The neighbor across the street came over and shoveled my sidewalk. I am surprised my dad's plow guy didn't show up. With the lack of snow this winter, I would think he would be chomping at the bit to plow here. He is on a contract that my dad set up. Maybe my brother cancelled it, altho he is also the guy who mows in the summer, so we still need his services for that this spring.

I might be moving in with a coworker in May. She is renting a two bedroom apartment and needs a roommate. She said I could stay however long I wanted/needed to so no commitment there. It is about a half mile from work. Not the ritziest apartment building but not bad. Another coworker lives there too. The rent for me would be less than $400 per month plus half the utilities and my cat is welcome.

Got a few things to do here before heading to work for a couple hours. Then I have the next two days off to work on the house. Still have a couple closets to go thru.

Hope you all have a good day and those out east, hunker down!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I am really moving slow today. I was up earlier, but it took me a while to warm up and have some breakfast/lunch and get moving. I even checked in here, but did not bother to post. The fact that it is rainy and cold outside did not help. I had to turn on both front and back furnaces as little electric heater was not doing it. And no sun today to warm things up.

So, now I am up and much more alert! This is a really nice state park, by the way. There is a woodsy older area, which is still nice and has electric and water, but I picked a more open spot in the newer area so I could get satellite. Only a couple of $$ per day more and I have full hookups, so I can really do some flushing of my black tank. I know it gets "dirty" again right away, but I think being able to flush once every couple of weeks helps. A lot of campgrounds have hose connections on their dump stations, but last few have not.

Also have some laundry to do, but too rainy and cold outside. If the rain slows down later, I have everything all ready to rush out, but tomorrow is supposed to at least be sunny so might do it in the morning.

Best part about this campground, other than it being on the Gulf, is that there is a paved bike trail along the coastal road, going 8 miles in each direction past a lot of little shops, restaurants, and hotels, so lots of places to explore. Hopefully, I can do that tomorrow, even if it is cold. Have to go to Camping World on Wednesday, but I still have Friday to explore also.

Way past morning here. I worked the office 3 hours this morning but asked another volunteer if she'd take my rest room duties for me. She readily said yes. So nice of her.

My tail bone is very painful... Sitting is a pita. My own fault. When I could no longer get up Saturday, I tried scooting on my butt until I pretty much blacked out for a bit. Scooting on rocks... Scraped one hand, both elbows and big time bruised my tail bone. But my most important task this week is to not overheat.

Wanted to do laundry, but knew it would be too much in the heat and in a short while when it'll be cool enough, I'll be walking Peaches (briefly) then headed to bed. Semi-dumped... Black tank dumped into blue boy. Tomorrow I'll take it to the dump station. Dumped grey. That's easy.

What a Winter! Hopefully in a couple weeks when I head out (and the cool temps move back in) some warmer temps reach SD.

Crazy weather everywhere this year.

You need to put this in your memory banks, Beth: once you have had a heat related illness, you are more vulnerable to it in future. Make sure you are replenishng electrolytes in addition to water. Continue to rest. I suspect you could have benefited from a liter of IV fluid but understand your refusal, as I'm stubborn about certai things too. Praying for a complete recovery and soon.
