Wine/Cheese Tasting
Shelter at 4:00 pm today (Thursday)

PLEASE COME EVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BRING OR TASTE WINES

It's just another excuse to socialize.

If you have an item(s) that you no longer need/want and want to give it away-sell it-or barter, bring it Thursday to the wine/cheese tasting.

I will bring a corkscrew.

Donna Reinhart site 44 will have a campfire this evening. I have a bag of marshmallows and 4 sticks.

What a variety of wines we had last night! Some good, some ICKY! I will stick to my two buck chuck Chardonnay. Lyn

Power is off in the campground. Should we postpone potluck until tomorrow night?

I would like to put some photos of the group on my blog. Please let me know if you would prefer to be blurred out.

I'll be putting them up tomorrow, so let me know as soon as you can. I can always blur them afterwards, if you don't let me know by then.

Thanks

Judy

Hope your power is back on! Glad I missed it. Here are photos I want to add to my blog. Please identify yourself if you do not want to be in my blog. I will not give names, obviously, and if you want a particular photo I will send the original to you.

I'd love it if someone put names on those photos. I recognize many, but not all and would love to have names with the faces.

I guess we should have taken a "class" picture and had everyone hold up name cards. We used to do that for each meeting with an association I was involved with.

I will get some card stock for next time, but maybe someone else could do this for the next GTG, especially the big ones. You can buy heavy card stock and have people fold it over lengthwise like a tent card, then write names on each one. Each person holds up her card and someone takes a standing group shot.

If someone wants to help me identify people, I can write the names in callouts with a program I have. I am very bad at names and faces, unfortunately, and have a level of face-blindness.

Others have done such an outstanding job of documenting our stay at Hillsborough, I only have a couple of photos to add (did not have camera out much this time)
Sandy cooked breakfast for us one morning. Here she is slaving over hot grill to make pancakes
Image

yesterday Nicky and I stopped to visit with Lyn, Carol and Martha. I handed Carol Nicky's leash to hold while I got a chair. She called him to come closer to her and he startled everyone by hopping up on table to get to her instead of walking around it
Image

We had nightly raids by raccoons but I did not manage to get photo of them. However was visiting with Linda when a snake crawled out under her rig. Look closely at what might appear to be a brace near step with a bright whit dot at end. The white dot is the snakes eye

I just updated two of my photos with callouts. Will work on the rest when work and the beach does not call me today.

We thought we wanted to make as easy as possible to communicate while at this GTG...as there were so many of us and we were spread far and wide....so Margie made a FB page just for this GTG so we could do that...we posted what was going on at any given time and if you were going to do or go something you could post if you wanted company...this worked out so well I thought I would post it here in case some might want to do it in future GTG...I think Vicki is going to make one for Hardee Lakes next Feb ...also here is a link to the page ...Margie will add you when you request to join...but she will be traveling tomorrow so it might take a bit for her to approve you...this was really " A Good Thing" ( you can see most of what happened at HR the good the bad & the ugly ) lol

Made it home safe to chilly Maryland! Wool socks and jackets this morning for the end of our journey - unpacked and fired up the woodstove first thing when I got home! Thanks to all of you who made my first GTG a great experience. Mom and I had so much fun meeting and talking with everyone. We really appreciate how welcomed we were as newbies to this experience.
Just checked out your adventures on FB since we left and it looks like we are missing some fun. Hope you are enjoying every minute, we wish we were still there! Look forward to seeing you all again and meeting new friends on future travels.
Happy Wandering!
