National Parks Lifetime Senior Pass Price Increase

Postby monik7 » Sun Feb 19, 2017 12:20 pm

I read in an AARP article this morning that the cost of the national parks senior pass is scheduled to increase sometime in 2017 from $10 to $80. The increase will be used to improve and upgrade national parks. So I thought I'd post this so anyone 62 or older who doesn't yet have a pass, or if you'll turn 62 this year, you might want to think about getting one sooner rather than later. The pass gets you into national parks free and can reduce camping fees in national parks by 50%.

According to the ranger selling them at Ocala National Forest, the increase takes place in January 2018.

Get your pass before the price goes up. Some people don't realize that these work in any U.S. Army Corps of Engineers site. I use mine frequently to get half-price camping at Saylorville, Red Rock, Rathbun, and Coralville in Iowa.
