Rainy Tuesday, again

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Tuesday, again

Morning,

All our regulars are at Hillsborough GTG and sounds like a fun packed week. So the rest of us can read all about it, if somebody keeps us updated. Or maybe what goes on at Hillsborough, stays at Hillsborough and we will never know

Showery day on tap here. Same thing last Tuesday too. Then some cold and white stuff behind it. Ah, the change of the seasons. Never know what each day will bring here in Michigan.

So today will be good day to finish up installation of drawer handles in kitchen and knobs on cabinets over washer and dryer and my bathroom vanity and cabinet doors, and a couple other little projects. After a couple days of visiting with cousins for a couple hours, doing some snow cleanup, shopping, banking, walking with the dogs, relaxing, etc., I antsy to get back into projects. Forgot to take the two boxes of stuff I have for Salvation Army store with me yesterday, so will do that later this week.

So guess it's time to get busy. Rosemary, I replied to your PM. Tina, left you a question in Campfire about a route across OH to 68 in MD. Anybody else been on that highway? I know O'Sharon has. Thinking of taking it to Gettysburg so I can see some of MD.

A couple of car's full of us are heading out to get strawberry shortcake today, but I will have to figure out who I am supposed to ride with.

This is the height of the Plant City strawberry season, when they are at their ripest and best, hence this trip. Buying them and getting shortcake at the source is fantastic. And tonight is a pot luck, so I cooked ribs last night--long and slow. Just have to heat them up and add barbecue sauce today when we get back from the strawberry trip.

Wow, Judy, that sounds like a great day! Strawberry shortcake and then potluck with BBQ ribs! Yum!

I didn't get as much done yesterday as I had wanted but I was so tired yet from the previous week or two. Needed a day to just chill! Will hit my list today.

Been getting calls and visits from neighbors who are also people I grew up with here who stayed in the neighborhood, so it has been nice to get caught up with them.

My brother has been moved out of ICU and is doing better each day. Some neurological issues are showing up now but not sure the extent of those yet.

I looked at the boards again that I took from the old dock and they are actually 3/4" x 5 3/4" (maybe originally 1 x 6's that shrunk over the past 65 years! ) and 3 feet long, so I will cut them in half and that should be a good size to work with for a project. Will have to see how to preserve them without changing the old wood look to them (including the bit of paint that is still on them). Something fun to work on later.

Ended up ordering an Android phone yesterday. Would rather have the iphone but I just couldn't afford that right now. A friend of mine recommended this one and said he will show me how to use it. Should get it in a few days. Hopefully my phone will hang on until then!

Hope you all in Hillsborough have a great time! Eat well, laugh alot and stay away from the alligators!

on edit...my brother has had a small setback this morning...

"Dave was moved from the Nuerology floor into the ICU early this morning. He's still experiencing swelling issues in his nose and esophagus so they placed a breathing tube in again.
Because of the extensive injuries to his face, Dr's wanted to wait until he was completely stable before performing any surgeries."

I put another update on my brother on my other thread. My brother has taken a turn for the worst today. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers...
