Last Saturday of February

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Saturday of February

Good Morning .

Pat, thanks for keeping all the snow over your way, appreciate that  Actually we wound up with that 4-5 inches of wet snow, which was followed by rain, which turned it into a heavier wet mess. I shoveled it off my deck andvit was like playing with wet cement. The blower took care of the drive. Was a crazy weather day here yesterday, the snow overnight with a some lightening and a rumble of thunder, followed by a mix, followed by the rain, followed by a quiet period and then a little more rain and even some severe weather just to the SE of here.

Martha, check the campgrounds out ahead of you as I'm hearing they are hard to come by in FL right now. Barbie, glad to hear your brother is responding well. Carob, nice to see your post yesterday. Have been wondering about you.

My valances I ordered came yesterday, so will be putting them up this weekend. Got the closet rod installed in my bedroom closet, so will move not clothes back in and weed some out in the process. Want to get the drawer handles on kitchen drawers etc., and wrap up the house projects this coming week. Want to think about summervtravels and also get my tax stuff organized. Have to wait for a form before I can do them.

Getting jabbery here, so time to quit. Have a nice day everyone. Safe travels to those on the roads and hope all those under the weather continue to improve. Rosemary (GypsyRose), sent you a PM.

Good morning Sue and all... a bummer of a day yesterday very disappointed cuz I found out that people who hold estate sales only want very high-end stuff including Furniture... Collectibles and Jewelry none of which I have the furniture is okay not real high-end but comfortable and nice but not good enough for them... now back to square one with estate sale... getting ready today and tomorrow to go to Hillsborough State Park GTG... so I will concentrate on that and all the fun we are going to have and put the rest out of my mind at least for a week... so that's it for me right now....B safe...donna

Incredibly, I have been up for two hours! Started thinking about finding out some stuff and having to drive to someplace with better cell service, so I finally got up and got busy. Students are supposed to be online right now checking their microphones for presentations, but none are right now. I have two more test sessions scheduled, so hopefully they will do this then. It saves time during the real presentations if they know their equipment works.

Not much going on today except returning a pair of shorts and doing some shopping. Also need to check out a senior residence for my aunt and uncle and then another online session later today. Will keep me busy.

Hope the ones driving in from the west and other far parts have safe trips!

I had a wonderful day yesterday with my friend Ginger. We spent much time at the Desert Museum, then headed to the Saguaro National Park, west, as she'd only ever been to the east section. We drove a loop and hiked to see some petroglyphs. Then I picked up Peaches.... Made sure she got a walk, and we drive out of Tucson Mountain Park and re-met Ginger at a Mexican restaurant others have recommended to me. They were right. The weather was perfect... Upper 60's is wonderful in Arizona for outside days.

No major plans today. I might head to the library and see about finishing my taxes. It would be nice to have that done.

 I reached Gibsonton last night, so I'm just lazing around at G's place today. Lovely pool weather!

I saw the strangest thing when I got here last night -- well, strange to me, anyway! They were out to dinner, so I wandered around back to let myself in the lanai. A sandhill crane was in the pond, right near the edge. He was throwing a stick (or a reed?) into the air, then leaping straight up, probably six to eight feet. He puffed his wings at the peak of his jump, then came straight back down again. The whole time he was making the beautiful liquid-y sound that they make.

Drew was so amazed that he didn't even bark! Does anybody know what kind of display behavior that is? It was really a grand thing to see!

Louise, that sounds like part of the mating dance. Neat.

Lyn, I tried to call you but it went to voice mail. I am almost to Tallahassee. I don't know about you but I've just about had enough of I-10. I don't know where I will stay tomorrow.

Sue, I doubt you can get in any of the Florida State Parks without a reservation but there are plenty of campground along the interstate. Some are not too fancy but as long as I have electric I can make do.
