Hold 'Em Poker

Postby LegalLady » Wed Apr 22, 2009 7:48 am

Ladies, I've been playing a monthly poker game with a bunch of guys (where are all the women???) at a club I belong to. I've never played very much, and last fall when I started, I told them that. Then, I couldn't get a bad hand, so kept winning pot after pot after pot!! In the end, I lost, but had a great time and became hooked on poker!!!

Last night, after starting out with 10 players, I played "heads up" (one to one) for at least an hour before I came in second place! Woo Hoo!!

Anyone else play poker??

haven't played since i was a kid at the family camp and my mother and father used to play with me. Hmmm.... maybe i should dust off my memory on how to play! Come on over and give me a refresher course on it! Maybe we can have a northeast GTG during summer before i start work again the last week of Aug!

Poker...that is where you sit and think, right? Oops I just struck out. We used to play Moon a million years ago as kids, but I haven't played anything but solitare with cards in a really long time. Never have played Poker. Sounds like you play a really mean game. Congratulations! It is always nice when you like to do something and you are really good at it. Sorry, I can't play with you, but I'll take you out and we can bet on who can ID the most birds by call and then by sight. Loser fixes peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. ;)

Leslie....Ernie & I play with "play money" online with Poker Stars....all Texas hold'em.....it's fun and since it's play money doesn't cost us....this maybe an option when you can't get together with your poker friends....

I LOVE Texas Hold Em. The past year while I was in Port Aransas, I was playing quite often on Sunday nights in a tournament at one of the local bars. Unfortunately, the best I ever did was 2nd place. Really wanted to win once :) I also played in tournaments at the rv park I was at this winter.

I love lots of different card games, but that's one of my favorites.

I have a fancy Texas Hold'em game here in the trailer, but sure as heck can't learn to play by myself! It's hard to bluff myself! Once in a while, when kids are here, or a friend, I haul it out and learn a bit more. It's a really fun type of poker, I think!

I'm babysitting my two GDs today so my SIL can attend a poker tournament in Pendelton, OR. There are casinos galore here in the NW so he plays often.
