Eileen, there are several sites available when I just checked - just not a site that goes through the entire time. The first site I saw with availability had the first 4 nights ... I didn't look for the weekend, but there are sites. Another you could come on Tuesday instead of Monday for a week or longer, another Wednesday for a week or longer...

I did it! Booked site 47 from 2/27-3/2. It will be my longest solo trip and I'm very excited and a little nervous
May not be solo...once I tell my mom she will be packed and waiting in the rv. Can't wait!

Ok -- looks like I'll be spending February at G's in Gibsonton. I just grabbed site 37 for 4 days, Feb 27-Mar 4. Winter plans have now begun!

How'd you get a site? Did you look every day for a cancellation?
I look occasionally, but there's never a thing to be had...

Mitch, I think I saw somewhere that you could request to be notified if a site came open. I thought it was with Reserve America but then again, I might be dreaming.

The other thing about Florida State Parks is that they let you leave early and cancel remaining days without paying a fee if you are at the campground, so that often means last minute spots open up. If you can get a spot for a couple of days, there is a good chance last minute spots will open up.

Right now, Site 14 is open for the 27 & 28 and Site 13 is open for the 29 & 30, so you might have to move around, but some sites are available. Actually, there are several spots open for the 27 & 28th.

Oops, looks like I'm only staying to March 3, not the 5th as previously reported. Heading south to Bonita Springs from there.

I hadn't planned to stay in Florida until this GTG, but plans change! I'll be staying about an hour away on a great road to ride back and forth so will definitely visit!

I managed to get spot 31 arriving Feb 27 leaving March 4. Looking forward to seeing some I haven't seen in a while and meeting many new sistahs. See you then.
