Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday

Morning everyone,

Another weekend has arrived. For some reason, it feels like it should be Friday. The weeks are flying by for me since I am busy with my house projects, sometimes I almost lose track f what day it is  My new kitchen cabinet knobs arrived yesterday, so will install them next week. There have never been any one the cupboards here.

Cleared out about 3-4 inches of snow yesterday, so got that done. O'Sharon, don't you have a snowblower anymore? That's what you need to clear the plow junk from your drive. Better than wrecking the bottom of your car trying to get out, especially if more storms hit, which looks like they will. Barbie and Velda, hope you both get over the flu bugs. Judy, glad to hear your bites are healing and you finally got that toilet fixed.

Waiting for a tech from Spectrum to come out this morning to fix my phone line, then will be heading to town later. Otherwise, not much on agenda today. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning. The weather is so crazy around here! It's already 41 and supposed to go higher today! Supposed to get some rain in the next day or so and then back to snow! Sue, I do have a very old snowblower but it doesn't do well with the ice, doesn't "blow" it, just churns it up! Plus there's the problem of where it goes, can't blow it back onto the road! No front yard to blow it back in! It's been an ongoing problem since we moved here. Luckily my car is higher so it's never been a problem going over it! So somehow it always works out. And since I live in town I can walk if I really want or need to go somewhere! Like yesterday I needed to go to the bank so I just walked!

I don't have any plans for the day, just normal doing things around the house stuff! I finally got some potting soil the other day and added it to my inside plants. So I got to play in the dirt! Spring will come and I will be able to play outside in the dirt! Small thing to look forward to!

Coffee is done so need to get dressed and get my day going. Hoping everyone feeling under the weather start feeling better and can enjoy the week end. Have a good day and if you are on the road, travel safe.

Good morning gals! :D

Sue, I have never understood the absence of knobs and handles on cupboard doors. It makes them hard to open and gets the doors grimey after a while. I think they look nicer with knobs and handles too.

Still feeling kind of weak this morning but will have some breakfast and start some small, easy projects with rests in between. I now have the UHaul reserved for Monday morning. I would like to have everything packed up by the end of the day on Sunday so I can try to leave by Monday around noon. Will see...

Hope you all have a good weekend!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Whew! Been up and already done three loads of laundry. Wanted to beat the rush to the laundry, so I skipped breakfast. Just now sitting down for a fried ham sandwich for lunch, and I am starving. Everything is washed, folded, and put away, and I also did some outside cleaning of stuff, and almost packed everything away to leave tomorrow.

Just need to get a tank of gas tomorrow and a bunch of groceries to last me a week at Midway. Nothing anywhere near there, so have to bring everything I might need, so putting together a big list. Got my cousin and maybe her husband going to Shark Valley with me next week, so need lunch stuff for them, also.

They have been doing a lot of burning pastures around here and are burning a big one today, with winds blowing the smoke our way, so I am going to try to stay in the rest of the afternoon. Last week, the next door fire got out of control and actually came through the campground fence, but luckily no RVs parked down there! No rain in sight, which they really need here. California is now getting enough rain for the whole country!

Judy, are they burning sugar cane fields? We were caught in that one year - lots of blowing black ash.

I'm not sure about today, but the past several burns last week were cattle fields. I know that because I drove past them while they were smoking. I think it cuts down on the brush and lets new and better grass grow. This campground is surrounded by cattle fields, not sugar cane, but the one today is quite a ways away, so who knows. I can see cattle across the river and cattle behind us, and more cattle fields along route 80! Ortona is about a mile north of highway 80, so there are lots of fields and cows between us.

Good morning all! Finally again beautiful blue sky and sunshine in CA. No flooding in my area but there has been lots of water and flooding north of here.

Barbie - if you have what I had in January, the cough lasted for at least 2 full weeks. I guess it was a flu or some sort (even though I had the flu shot and the super pneumonia shot.) Sure knocked me for a loop but is so nice to feel healthy again. My ex ended up in the hospital for 3 days with pneumonia. This stuff is hard on seniors. Take care and REST, REST, REST as much as you can.
