Finally Friday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Finally Friday!

Postby Queen » Fri Feb 03, 2017 7:34 am

Good morning everyone.

Another chilly day here in IL, but it's supposed to be sunny, so yay!!

We're in the planning stages for a two week driving trip "out west", always enjoy this part so much. Looking at maps, deciding on a general route and things we might want to see. Seems like all we've done for many years is go back and forth to Florida, time to hit the road and go see some mountains!

Hope everyone has a beautiful day.

Mornin' Mickie & all that follow ~~~
How fun to be planning Mickie. How far west are you going? If you're going to be in Colorado a while you can check out the Air Force Academy (the chapel is really nice), Cripple Creek if you like gambling, Bishop's Castle is hard to explain, look it up  , and there is a wolf rescue just up the mountain from Colo Springs, forget the name tho. Anywho ~~~have fun!

Yesterday was not a good day. My project from hell started the final shutdown & conversion. Half way thru the data transfer to the Cloud, the vendor said they were not going to upgrade us! WFT!!! Ends up a silly little check box on one of their forms had "YELLOW" and they won't go live on a yellow (think stop light). Geez! OK, so the new boss will change it to green and resubmit. Crisis averted, but a late night at work anyway.

Then BIL, who was going with me to trade in Colt & pick up Colt 2.0 next Saturday, found out his surgery was not going to be an outpatient thing, and he'd be in the hospital for 3 days! Phone calls, texts, etc trying to find someone else to come with me, just for the backing up part of a longer TT, trying to change the dates, etc. Instead going to bite the bullet, pay their storage fee and leave it there until maybe April. Another  , but on the bright side, won't have to bring it in for dewinterizing, just tell them when I'm coming to pick it up.

Can't wait for this week to be O-V-E-R!

Have a good day ladies & stay safe where ever you are.
Cheryl

Wow, Cheryl, rough times for sure!

We are going to go without much in the way of plans, but the general direction will be Rocky Mountain National Park to start, or if we're feeling like a bit more car time, the wind river range.

Good morning!

Mickie I so know what you're talking about! When I used to travel with a friend, the planning was one of the best parts!

Had a pet sit cancel for this weekend, to be rescheduled at a later date, so I'm looking forward to a free weekend! Nothing to do and nowhere to go makes me happy, especially with the Superbowl on the horizon.

Have a good day!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Yesterday it was in the 70's and today is in the 50's. At least it's not going to get too cold and will warm back up in a couple of days.

I over did it yesterday but my foot feels ok today. My son had a doctor's appointment so I went off to take him to make sure he went. Then we went to the Mall, Walmart and Sam's. I could barely walk by the time I got home and was very stiff. Not use to that much exercise. It's been a while since I have spent that much time with him.

I forgot to get food for the house cats. I need to figure out a way to feed CC kitten food so he doesn't have to eat old lady food and they can't eat his food.

Sounds like a great trip, Queen. I am already getting antsy about heading out west. There are so many places I have been that I like to visit a second, third, or fourth time, and other places I still want to see, even with my almost five years on the road!

Another lazy day today. The mobile RV man came yesterday and tried to fix my toilet. It still leaks a little but at least the flush mechanism works. Anyway, he recommended I buy a new toilet, the Dometic 320, so I have one ordered from Campging World. It will not arrive until next Thursday, but my toilet is at least more functional than it has been for the last week so I can manage until then. The exciting part is that this new toilet has a seal you change by just reaching in and pulling out the old one and sticking in the new one--all from the inside of the bowl. No more tearing apart the whole toilet and the horrible ring that currently holds the two parts of my toilet together!!! :D

The above is ONLY meaningful if you have ever tried to replace the seal on your toilet or had to pay someone $150 to do it for you!!

Might get up some energy and drive over to the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary next week. Also, could take a trip to Ding Darling Sanctuary. Probably will do both since I have here for another whole week.

That is a nice option, Judy! I helped my dad change out the toilet in their old Dolphin and it was a misery, we were both sweating and swearing a blue streak by the time we got it done.

Been a very long day! My dad's funeral was this morning. It went very well and was very nice. After the service, we were all led down to the columbarium where my dad's cremains will be kept. It is outside in a little courtyard and it was REALLY cold out there! (like 15 degrees with a windchill). Of course none of us had jackets on so luckily it wasn't a very long ceremony. I made it thru all that without breaking down but I will probably crash and burn later. There were cookies and drinks available afterward and I was able to meet with most of those who came for the service so that was nice. A lot of people I hadn't seen for many years. Several people were previous customers of mine and were all glad to hear I was coming back because they didn't like the haircuts they had gotten since I moved. So that was good to hear (that they missed me). After that, the family met over at my older brother's house for lunch. By that time I was shaking and exhausted and very glad to get back "home" to take a much needed nap!

Tomorrow, my brothers and I will meet at the house and make some tentative plans for that. Then will go out to dinner with my older brother and his wife to celebrate his birthday (which is today). Will be flying back to Phoenix on Sunday morning.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Actually, I have been through that state. Just lazy about changing my icon. Will do that tomorrow.

I really enjoyed ND, especially Teddy Roosevelt National Park, but had to leave early and drive 50 miles east to the nearest hospital because I started to pass an incredibly painful kidney stone!! Had a very good experience in the emergency room and at a RV park that night where the manager met me late and helped me back into a spot in the dark!! (I had called him from the hospital.)
