Groundhog Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Groundhog Day

Good morning
Forgot rabbits and check in yesterday. It was a travel day. I moved from the Ocala area southward to spot near Weeki Wachee to visit with Dawn and her brother Paul for a few days before going to Hardee Lakes. This park is so full they are double parking smaller rigs along the road - mine included. I'm sharing a power pedestal with Dawn. Sure hope they have a really robust power system here. No problem last night but I'm being very careful about what I turn on.
Pretty chilly again last night but nice warm up during day now.

Groundhog Day 2017

Postby Colliemom » Thu Feb 02, 2017 8:13 am

Hear ye, Hear Ye, Hear ye. Phil has seen his shadow, so 6 more weeks of Winter there will be. Sorry ladies. Been a crazy winter all over too. We were 7 degrees above normal here for the month of January, but it was not the warmest on record.

Was fun reading all the posts yesterday. Seems everyone is busy and doing well. Enjoying the adventures of those out on the road and those in FL. Donna, hope your foot gets better, I too missed how you hurt it. Barb, sounds like you and your brothers are getting things in order slow but sure.

I finally got my kitchen ceiling painted yesterday after having to go get a paint roller cover. Remembered I had used up my last one. But first cleaned up the snow from day before only to get about a half inch again. Rosemary, I forgot to answer your question about ceilings. No, I use regular white ceiling paint. It's neutral and reflects light making a room feel more light. Trouble with painting a contrasting color on the ceiling is, if you get tired of the wall color, you have to repaint from top to bottom all over again, whereas it would just be the walls with a white ceiling. Unless it's been years since it was done which is the case in this house. Martha, I generally don't wash walls before painting. Only reason I am doing the kitchen is because I removed a border and some wallpaper, so need to make sure the glue is off. And for that I'm using hot water with a few drops of Dawn in it, followed by a rinse of clear water. I generally clean my walls with Murphy's Oil soap in spring. I still like to do that as it freshens up the house after winter.

So today I will be heading to town. Gotta get kibble for the girls, wall paint for the kitchen etc., Patch up a couple areas on walls and finish washing the walls under the cabinets. Putzy but time consuming stuff.

So will wish you all a nice day, and mosey along. Sarah, see your post got in ahead of mine, so will let the administrators combine them, since I'm on my pad and not computer, not sure how to copy it over.

Morning everyone!

Gorgeous mackerel sky this morning! I could spend all day looking at the sky.

Not much doing here today, I'm home all day and will do a little cleaning, maybe a little cooking.

Not much going on today. Just waiting for the mobile RV repair guy to come and fix my toilet or tell me I need to buy a new one. That, plus taking out the trash and going to see what the otters are doing, is going to be my excitement for the day. Feels really good just to be lazing around.

I've been liking the chilly nights and warm days. Much better for sleeping.

Good morning Everybody, I forgot to check in yesterday, but all is fine in Kino Bay with me. We did have a bit of excitement when one of our group had to have a gall bladder operation. Happy to report that the medical care here in Hermosillo, Sonora was as good as in the States. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good afternoon gals!

Just got back from my friend's dad's funeral. It was short and sweet. Nice to see her and her family again. Picked up the flowers for my dad's funeral. Now to get the photos picked out and arranged on the poster board.

I got a flight back to Phoenix for Sunday morning with Sun Country. I forgot I had points with them from previous trips so got a $50 discount. Every little bit helps.

Tomorrow is also my oldest brother's birthday so picked up a gift for him. His wife is taking him out to dinner Saturday night and invited me to go along.

There is definitely going to be a cat fight about who is going to list the house. One of my brothers wants a friend of his to list it and my other brothers wife wants to list it, so someone is not going to be happy. The friend has a lot of experience selling houses and has his own agency. My SIL would save us the commission which would be quite a bit on a $800K house but has very little experience. I will let them battle it out.

Hope you all have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie - it sounds like you're doing well with all of this. Good idea to let the realtors and your brothers figure out who's selling it, not a fun "discussion" to be in the middle of.
