Sending my condolences & prayers.... Glad you were able to have that conversation with your Dad - even after he had moved on... I truly believe they are still with us for as long as we need them. Hopefully that will bring you peace that all is well - for him & for you.
Take care of yourself over the next few months - for healing & as you build dreams for your future

Barb, I'm so sorry for your loss. How lucky you are to have been with him in his last days. He's claimed his peace and rests with no more discomfort or pain. Take some joy in going through and cleaning out his place, as the memories there will go with you when you move on.
My condolences,
Eileen

Don't let yourself get run down. Take each day as it comes and try not to borrow worry and stress for things you can not control. You will need all your energy for real things. I will be thinking of your brothers moving through these days, too. Who ever is sorting through the legal and financial stuff will need all the positive thoughts and energy they can gather in. Glad that at least two of you are on the same page and can support each other without drama. ((((hugs))))))

Thank you all for your prayers and condolences. They mean a lot to me. :D

Anne, I also believe in after death communication. I have had many contacts over the years with my mom. I probably will with my dad as well. We both have some psychic abilities.

It will be a tough few months ahead with being in the house and going thru his stuff as it brings up feelings and memories, both good and bad. It is just one of those things that needs to be done. I am sure many of you have been thru this as well, and of course Donna is going thru this now.

My brothers and I have always had our "jobs" to do with dealing with our parents. My older brother, David, takes care of the legal stuff, Paul takes care of the financial stuff, and I take care of the physical/hands on stuff. Luckily, even tho we aren't really all that close, we do tend to be on the same page with most things which helps avoid conflicts. Their wives are the ones who try to throw a wrench into things but even my brothers try to keep them out of a lot of the discussions.

The one conflict we see coming up is with listing the house. A good friend of the family is a real estate agent but so is David's wife but she doesn't have much experience with it. We will deal with that I guess when that time comes.

Thanks again for all your support!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

So sorry to hear about your dad. As others have said, cherish the memories. Prayers to you and your brothers as you go through this difficult time. I'm glad you are at peace with your dad. I miss mine, but I know he is with me. I too believe in that thin veil. When my mom passed away, I saw her in a dream three days later, clear as day, walking from our garage to the house again. I firmly believe it was God's way to let her tell me she was fine and at peace in heaven. I've had conversations with my dad too over the years. Many of my dreams lately have involved deceased family members. Take care. Eventually this will be behind you and you can live your dreams.

So sorry, Barbie. You are still traveling that rough and bumpy road for awhile, but you are strong and will get to a smoother place. It's good that you have a lot of support.
