He's gone...

Postby BarbaraRose » Mon Jan 30, 2017 2:11 pm

My dad passed away this morning around 9am. We are in the process of making arrangements. He will be cremated and the service will be on Friday. I woke up this morning just after 8am with tears in my eyes and a very surreal but peaceful feeling. I knew it was about over. I then had a conversation in my mind with my dad and came to terms with it all.

I will fly back after that and pack up and head back here. My older brother is still on his way back from Arizona and says is willing to help with whatever we need him to do. There will be a lot of work ahead for us but we will get thru it. A good friend of mine who happens to live next door to my dad, lost her dad last night too. So we will be able to support each other thru our losses when I move in there which will be good.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Oh, Barbie, my sincerest condolences to you in this difficult time.

How wonderful that you were able to fly there, to be by his side.

I, too, have had many "conversations" in my head with my Dad - both on the day he was gone, and many times since. Who is to say that these conversations are not real?

Surely not I.

I believe that only a thin veil separates all of us from what is "now", and what is "after". I often feel closeness with those that have gone long ago, even now. If not a thin veil, what other explanation can there be?

My thoughts and prayers to you and yours during this difficult time.

My very best wishes to you.

I know that even though you and your dad had some very difficult times, you still have some good memories. Cherish them for they are his gift to you.

My sincere sympathy.

I am so sorry for your loss as a family. Ann I agree about the veil being thin at times. Barbara I wil pray for your peace, strength, and comfort in the days to come.
