Shivering Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Shivering Sunday

Postby Queen » Sun Jan 29, 2017 7:05 am

Morning everyone!

Can't seem to get warm yet, really need my coffee. Foolishly shared a bottle of wine with Mary last night, so I was wide awake at 3am, you'd think I'd learn.

Not a lot going on here today, meeting friends for lunch and then hitting an open house later in the afternoon.

Hope everyone has a good day, and for all that are heart sore, wishing you some peace.

Morning Mickie and all,

Cold here too, but we also had a snowy couple days, so will be out with he blower after church. Spent all day yesterday watching TV and puttering on this IPad. Did rewrite my address/phone book as too many crossed out entries were making it hard to find the current ones on some pages. Needed the rest day yesterday, but by bedtime was bored with it all and one day in front of TV is enough, thank you.

Mickie, sharing that bottle of wine is one reason why you are cold this morning. Alchohol and caffinated drinks like coffee actually have reverse affects on the body, then we think. They dilate the blood vessels under the skin, which makes us feel warm, but it reality it causes a loss of blood and heat to the body's inner core thus the body cools down rather than warms up. So you can be more susceptible to hypothermia and cold. Have fun looking at the open house.

Gotta get a move on here. Y'all have a nice day. Barb, Velda and those of you with trying times, please know you will be in my prayers this morning.

Hey! Thought I would join in the coffee, this morning. Watching the sun come up and looking forward to a beautiful AZ day. Going to help my friend, Ken, empty out Six Pac. He got so excited about trading in his fifth wheel on the Class B he's buying that he prematurely put the 5th wheel hitch in his truck. He wanted to move his truck camper over to the park and sell lot, where Myrtle is, but will have to wait until we get his new RV and take the hitch out. I will have him take pics of the truck camper for the Trading Post. It will be up for sale. It's real nice and he takes such good care of things, so would be nice for one of the ladies. I put a link to my CL ad for Myrtle on the Trading Post thread. Anyone looking for a Class A? Well, better get rolling! Have a great day!

Good morning
Still cold with drizzling rain here in Silver Springs. There is hope for some sun by late afternoon but will stay chilly for a few more days.
Thanks to Liz and Tina shuffling me back and forth, got to spend yesterday afternoon visiting with them, Claudia, Irmi & Steve, and Nan. Sure enjoyed getting to see everyone. Thanks to Irmi for hosting us. While there also got a tour of Brenda's lovely new rig.
Very sorry about news of cancer return, Velda and of Barbie
s news about her father.

Morning all! I am waiting for my last load of clothes to finish so I can put them in the dryer. Then off to Ortona South. Cold and rainy here this morning, so everyone else decided to do laundry! Tomorrow and the rest of the week should be fine.

I replaced the seals on my toilet Friday, but the ball flush mechanism is not working, so I have to use a screwdriver to open it so solids can go down. Will try fixing it again on Monday since I now have LimeAway and such, but if not, will have to buy a new toilet or get an RV dealer to fix it. Just too hard for me to work on these things because I cannot kneel and have to sit, but then my knees do not bend as much as they should so my legs end up with cramps. Oh well. I do what I can do. :(

Good morning!
Velma, keeping you & your husband in my prayers...
Barbie, sorry to hear about your dad - it is probably wise to stay there & help your brother handle everything.
Sarah, glad you're out with some of the gals.
Ava, sounds like you're getting the hang of retirement - woohoo for you!
Sue, sitting still for 1 day did you in - ha! I totally understand.
Mickie, I wake up nearly every morning at 3 but I don't drink wine - I never heard of that connection before. Wonder if I'd wake up at 1 if I did drink. Good luck on the open house.

Norhing exciting out here - took the travelin' van for a good long drive yesterday towards the hills. Beautiful drive - I love seeing the snow-capped mountains ahead of me knowing that the beaches are right behind me.

Hope everyone enjoys this day whatever it brings...

Good morning! I got the last paperwork needed to file my 2016 taxes in the mail yesterday, so filed online this morning to get that over with. I owe $15 this year. I love it when I have it figured that close. I try to adjust my withholding so I neither get a refund nor owe. I figure I have succeeded if I keep it under $200 either way. Using the same online free-file is so easy as all the details (addresses, etc.) automatically carry over from last year's form, and all I have to do is fill in the new numbers off the 1099 forms for 2016. So that's done except for tweaking my withholding to reflect estimated 2017 taxes. Will do that another day.

Now on to another project. I need to clean out and organize my "office" cabinet. Been putting that off. Everybody stay warm. We're having winter here today.

It's a beautiful sunny day in Tucson. Started out chilly, but the sun is quickly warming everything up. Back to work for me... A couple hours, anyway. Linda, I miss you trailing along behind.

Hi Ladies ~~~ 12:50 PM here so technically the afternoon, but I'll let the forum clock decide if it's morning once this posts. :?

Well Colt is all empty. BIL & I were able to get the cover off yesterday without me getting up on the roof, but still needed the ladder to get past the downspouts. No time at all. But somehow for having all clothing, linens, etc out of the TT, and only 2 cabinets and 2 drawers to empty, and under the couch for the broom, mini-outside table, etc, took forever. We were both pretty chilled but survived. Grabbed the bins out of the basement this morning. My garage is a wreck because can't put bins in nice stacks because the darn cover is not folded yet. Might drag that into the basement to let it warm out a bit for folding, but not today. It may fit on Colt 2.0 also, since one size actually fits three lengths.

Glad you are home by Dad Barbie, and Velda sending prayers your way also. Nice to see the goings on in FL, etc. Not much else {{{shaking}}} here. Have a good day ladies and stay safe where ever you are.

On edit: Afternoon ladies!!! (per the site clock) :D

My dad made it thru the night and we went early to see him this morning. He is really struggling to hang in there. He is no longer able to eat or drink anything. He aspirates on everything. He is on heavy oxygen and morphine now. Tomorrow they will move him into the Hospice area. It won't be long now tho.

I have a lot of things to do today and tomorrow on my end. I need to call the manager of the shop in California and the lady I am supposed to be moving in with and let them know of my change of plans. Just realized my drivers license expired on my birthday last week, so I need to get that renewed tomorrow. I will fly back to Phoenix right after the funeral and start packing for heading back here. My brother is pretty much in charge of the financial mess, so I will take over the house and start getting that cleaned up and out. It is really a mess there too. Very dirty and needs major cleaning. Luckily, I found out he sold his car (to make room for the Mercedes he supposedly won) so that is one less thing to deal with. I also need to see if I can get back into the Great Clips I worked for here or need to look into other locations. I know my brother Paul is very relieved I am coming back to help. I can't imagine just heading to CA and letting him deal with everything here and then tell him to just send me my share of the money from the sale of the house later. I could never live with myself doing that. And technically, because the house is in a trust to us kids, we may need to have one of us living there until it sells. My brother is looking into that, but either way someone needs to be living there besides the renter in the basement. It will be like pulling teeth to get my other brother to do much. He is taking his sweet time driving back to MN because he doesn't want to see my dad at all.

I didn't get much sleep last night so am very tired but need to get some things done here and then maybe take a nap later. Right now I have a big, black, sweet cat looking at me and asking to be petted. Her name is Sammy. I miss Lola but my roommate is taking good care of her. She will have a nice big house to roam around in once we get back here.

Cheryl, the time you see on posts is the time zone you have set in your preferences. You made it before noon by two minutes here in mountain time. :)

Barbie, I'm glad one brother will be helping you. Better than none! And I hope your dad hasn't gone so far in debt with the schemes/scams that there's nothing left.

We will be struggling to get things paid, for now, but once the house is sold, we should get somewhere in the amount of $150,000+ each after all other financial things are taken care of. Will hopefully get around $700K+ for the house. It will be a good time to put the house on the market in the late spring with the lake opening up and everything getting green and nice.

Just talked to my CA manager and she said that when I am ready to go to California, that I have a guaranteed job there. Also talked to my old manager here in MN and she said she will make room for me at one of their shops here and a very good chance it would be at the same shop I was at, so that is great! So things are all falling into place for me so far for coming back here too. And luckily, my brother and I are on the same page about everything that we need to do with the house and finances. My other brother will probably just go along with whatever we decide to do. So that will make things much easier.

We are headed back to the hospital soon.
