I saw the baby for the first time. What a pity the other eggs didn't hatch.

Just checked in on the nest. Both adults present and feeding the big baby.

The baby is actually standing up and taking steps! And his "down" looks like it's starting to mature into baby feathers. I do worry that he's going to fall out of the nest as the sides don't look very high.

I thought the same thing, too, and so have others. If you read the updates they address the 'falling out of the nest' concerns. Yep, he/she is surely getting bigger by the day. Not so cute anymore, either. :o

Yes, I'd read those comments below the web cam ... yesterday it looked like Mom was adding more sticks to the side. Whew!

Has anyone else checked on the eagles today? It's 6 pm PST and I just checked for the first time today and I see only one adult sitting in the nest. The last time I looked the baby was huge and I can't imagine it's tucked under the adult. Hope I'm wrong, though.

Oops, nevermind. The adult got up and yep! The baby is still there! Whew! :D

Yesterday the camera was out due to some heavy weather. Will have to check back today. Sure hope the nest fared better than the camera.

Only one camera working . The baby looks almost as big as the adult and is getting some "real feathers."

I was also checking during the bad weather there. When the cameras went off-line I was nervous for our baby. But the site put up a comment that the chick was ok which relieved my mind.

I'm amazed at how quickly real feathers are coming in now!

Me too! Baby went from fluffy downy thing to half-fledged little eaglet!
