Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday, January 21

Good morning! It's a foggy morning here and supposed to go up into the 50's today. Strange January weather! Looking like toward the end of the month is going change back to winter with snowy conditions! Just wish we'd get a day or two of sun!

Sounds like it's going to be an exciting week end for Quartzside with more of you getting together. Looking forward to hearing about it! Karen, hope the rain and wind clears up so you can get back on the road! I think I would have done the same thing if I ran into those conditions. Alice, how's it feel to be retired? I see we have a couple new members and have been remiss in welcoming so belated welcome! Sue, I didn't paint here but did help DIL paint her office! She wasn't happy with the way the color came out so got a different shade and redid it! It's a darker color now but more of what she wanted!
Not much else going on here. I'm still trying to decide what my "big" trip is going to be once I can get Lola back on the road. Right now she's all covered up and sitting in the driveway! I do need to get out to her again and check things out and run the generator for a bit.

Well, enough of my rambling! Hope you all have a good week end and if you are traveling, be safe!

Good morning O'Sharon & all... I have been missing in action I know but sometimes you have something you don't want to say ...or something you do want to say ...and it never all comes together so I don't say anything... I had a great time at Hardee Lakes with everybody there I stayed a week...Soos & I where are the last ones to leave ....at the dump station on the way out I pulled my Blackwater everything went fine I pulled my grey water and the leaver came out... I have a macerator so nothing spilled... so now I have to get that fixed also the seal around the side door won't stay in place any longer so I guess I will have to replace that... I told Margie the other day what I should have done was by a high top cargo van GMC... Chevy whatever got a porta-potty ...a Coleman stove....a Yeti cooler ...electric blanket a long extension cord and been done with it... I love my RT... but not happy with all this money I'm putting out... diligently still working on the house an estate... I checked on storage units the other day the one that I could afford just a tad too small so maybe I will be purging more... more paperwork concerning the trust & estate popped up one thing after another I hate dealing with banks... I never heard of a medallion till I had to go get one at the bank... sometimes I get in a funk and don't do anything other days I'm running around like a wild woman trying to get it done ...I think I'm going to have one more yard sale maybe next weekend.... last night I was sitting here watching the news and the lights blinked on and off and then I heard this buzzing noise right out beside me... the water sprinkler had been on for about 15 minutes so I thought something happened so I went outto take a look... it was hotter than heck and smoke was coming out of it and it was buzzing so I ran in found the breaker and turned it off... I called my Dad's friend Ron he is a fireman also amongst other things and he told me to keep my eye on it so that it doesn't doesn't ignite from being hot and it should cool down on its own ...well it did but it's toast now.. one other reason I don't want to own a home again.... little Pheebe girl is doing really good she is minding me more about chasing cars and as far as being in the house or doing other things she Minds everything I say anything to her she does everything I tell her to do she's going to be 2 years old next month so I think her maturity helps a lot... her puppy hood a year ago she was a real wild child then... she's still my redheaded Chihuahua flower child sort of like a hippie...lol....B safe & have a wonderful day...donna

Good morning
Kind of going crazy around here due to last minute decision to try the annual FL trip in spite of pesky health issues.
Just couldn't stand the thoughts of not getting to see some of my favorite ladies and meet new ones which wouldn't happen if I don't go.
Just got a site at Hardee Lakes for that gtg, still nothing available for Hillsborough however.
Stormy weekend here but a little break in weather next week for me to make my escape.

Good Morning,

Donna, good to see your post, but so sorry you have so much to deal with. Sarah, excited you are coming. Must say I am delighted to be in FL given the weather elsewhere. Really feel for the gals at Q, but hopefully weather will start to cooperate. Sue's painting continues. :) O'Sharon, planning will be part of the fun!

Neighbor repacked wheel bearings on the SS trailer and ran into more than he bargained for on one of them, but he got it done. I replaced the water pump in the camper - have almost no water pressure without it. Had the truck and camper washed plus camper waxed. My two couples of neighbors have left so I'm getting a little more done - we'll be meeting up again when I get to the Thousand Trails in Wauchula on Tuesday. Really learned a lot about fancy liquors from them  I have the SS trailer sold and in the process of ordering the new one - have use of the old one until I pick new one up in Ocala when it is finished around end of Feb. Really didn't want to spend so much, but if I'm going to do this, I need it to be reliable and easy to use. Also have given many SS rides! It's starting to get dirty so will just leave it and then won't feel bad about driving it in and out at Hardee Lakes if anyone wants a ride. I refused to even uncover it last time.

Make it a great day and be safe!

Anita, as much trouble as you have had with that trailer I think I would have bought a new on too. You should charge for rides to pay for the new trailer.

Our local weather people were on TV most of the night. I haven't heard if Louisiana had any tornadoes like Mississippi. Most of it went North of us and I didn't hear any wind. It looks like it's all the way to Georgia now. I think they said we were going to have more severe weather tonight.

Donna, I think age takes a lot of wildness out of puppies and kittens. The kitten we have now is a terror. He has 2 speeds, wide open or passed out. I have bite marks on both hands where he gets carried away. If I hit him for bitting me I get some "mean eyes". He has a long stuffed fox that is really a dog toy. He wrestles around with it and kicks the stuffing out of it. I have had to patch it twice. Three of the house cats won't put up with him so he leaves them alone. The other 2 have to get up on something so he can't reach them. I don't like for him to be outside but we have to have a break sometimes. When he wants to sleep he thinks I should hold him.

Sarah, hope you can get on the road to Florida between the bad weather. I hope I get to see you when I go.

It is sunny here right now BUT the wind is blowing hard and gusty. Last night thought I was either going to be blown or floated half way across the state. What the heck is up with this??? Planning on cleaning house tomorrow as it is now full of sand and grit. Laundry today and then will head to the Q on Monday.

2 RV's just pulled in and the one neighbor told me he got off the road due to the broadsiding winds and gusts that were blowing him over too frequently for him to feel comfortable. He is in a big Diesel Pusher towing a car trailer.

My motorhome is rocking and rolling as I type. So glad to be tucked in here for another couple of days then will head to the Q on Monday, weather permitting. Hopefully better weather when I get there, I dont relish boondocking in inclement weather, I am a wuss.

You're getting more wind than I am in Tucson. Because of the wind and rain, I'd decided not to go to the Women's March. Then one of the women here called wanting to go... 5 minutes later we were in her car and on the way. We were chilly in the shade, especially if the breeze kicked in. Great in the sun.

About 15,000 supposedly were there. Totally peaceful. Women, Men, Children, all ages, all nationalities. It reminded me of the marches in the 60's and 70's, without seeing any drugs at this one. I'm glad I went.

Weirdest January ever, it's 64 degrees here! That is about 40 degrees above normal, bizarre but fun!

Beth - I couldn't march with my bum leg, but we went to the parade route and yelled our support.

That works. :)
I edited my post... It said 5,000... Should have been 15,000.

Okay, I'm officially demanding that winter be over! Rain, rain, and more rain is more than enough to fill our reservoirs! Last week at FMCA rally in Indio, CA was hefty rain and mud. Deep mud ruts in front of Sere, but got out without getting stuck. Just got home this morning from my Good Sam Chapter's monthly campout - in the rain! Today's storm supposed to be the heaviest yet, so I left at the crack of dawn this morning before it got too bad. Poor Serendipity is so dirty inside and out. Caked mud. Let me tell you a sad tale from one of our member's brother:

Couple shopped around and bought their dream 5th wheel. Hooked up and headed to Q to get some whistles and bells installed. A car hydroplaned on the rainy highway and sideswiped their brand new fiver. They pulled over to the breakdown lane to check the damage and be sure they could still drive it. Another dummy driving too fast on rainy highway skidded into the back end of the fiver at full speed! They didn't even get to sleep in their brand new RV one night before it got totaled! No, they weren't hurt physically, but their hearts are sure broken!
