Sheila seems to call them scones, but I thought they were Indian fry bread. Now I don't know.

I think it's just a matter of two people calling same thing a different name! I call them fry bread and Sheila calls them scones. I've always been under the impression that scones were baked. Sheila fries hers. Any hoo Sheila's recipe has a sour dough starter and is much better than the recipe I had been using. I hate to tell my Native American friend that! But I used her recipe and the product didn't taste as good as hers. She always makes fry bread when we camp and the rest of us supply the makings for the tacos. if there are leftovers her kids love to eat them with peanut butter and honey or syrup the next morning.

Scones and fry bread in my vocabulary are interchangeable...in other worlds scones are baked and more of a biscuit type dough...
my kids love these we a lot of times just do it with honey or jams on it...BJ I "think " the recipe is in the recipe forum
if not or can't find it will of course give you the recipe...
a lot of times fry bread is just that bread dough deep fried can be home made or from frozen dough

Sheila, Bobbi's fry bread recipe has baking powder in it. I prefer the yeast flavor with your recipe. For some reason when I make her recipe the product is tough. I might have overworked the dough. I also might have had to problem of frying them too long. I was frying them to a golden brown. But when the dough is rolled that thin (which might have been too thin) it doesn't take that long for it to cook through. So my finished product was a little tough and sometimes of the crispy side. Granted your recipe isn't a spur of the moment one because it requires planning ahead to make the starter, I like them a lot better.

There's a reason I wanted to workamp here. Now there are more. Within 1/2 an hour of pulling into my site, two workamper couples came to greet me. As I walked Peaches the head maintenance employee came to find me. He wants me to know to leave all the headaches to the employees... Yes, I'll have a job to do, but have fun and turn over all headaches. I ran to town and shortly after returning a third couple came by. So welcoming, so friendly. I'll have to work hard to not be a hermit.

And, ok, I don't have sewer to my site. I knew in advance. They'll provide a blue boy or I can go to the dump. We shall see... Maybe a combination. And then... My site...



Oh, and I mentioned my concern about not enough areas to hike/walk Peaches and learned there is an area I'll be shown. Life's good.

pretty windy right now
went to MX got new glasses..he told me to come back
in two years not eight that was to long
finally got all my Christmas decorations up now if the tree will stay up the wind
is really making the 5th wheel rock...one of the rear jacks is bent so not helping support the trailer
sure feel the movement ...my granddaughter got married this summer sorta an elopement ..parents were
able to make it but no one else and since they would loose a lot of money by giving up the venue that was
already rented they will have an reception on the 31st...so planning on leaving here on Christmas day going to
Vegas and spend the night with my sister...then on the next day then son needs me to baby sit for a couple of days
back home in the desert some time during the week following the 1st...

Not really planning on sitting around a real campfire until
Hardee Lakes but at least I've made it safely to Florida and flip
flop weather. I know most of you treat your rigs much more gentle than I do. I've been dragged this one around from dog show to dog show and with little prep threw the Florida clothes in and headed south. Time to sort and store away and go through the cabinets and outside storage areas and clean, sort, give away or put away. Laundry today for the flannel lined jeans and turtlenecks that helped me survive on the journey south. A little rig cleaning and errand running. But don't fear I will be sure to pace myself. I'm retired and there may time tomorrow. And well the lake looks like it needs a kayak.

Tina, I think I travel like you do. Throw it all in and sort it when you get to the campground. Many times I have said I should camp the first night an hour from home so I could get on the road earlier. No matter how ready to leave I think I am it still takes me 2 hours.

I took every thing out of my upper cabinets and now I need to unload some of my junk. I don't think I need 5 wine glasses, 6 coffee cups and 6 dish towels. There are 4 baseball caps and 3 sun visors and I think I have worn one once.

Maybe you just need to get on down here! I spent most of today sorting cabinets, drawers and outside storage. Not done yet. Liz said, oh, look! The water is calm and the sunset is pretty. So we took a short kayak paddle.

If traveling down in the rig is too much you could revert back to the van and motel travel options of your first year!
