Thursday, December 22

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, December 22

Morning,

4:55 a.m. Here and I'm wide awake  Don't want to get up yet. So thought I would put coffee on in case anybody else out there can't sleep either.

Going to be a little busy day today. Little bit of snow out there, so will run small blower around a litle. Warming up to almost 40 today, so snow will definitely settle. Want to put my spare bedroom back together and be done with that. Friend stopping by to pick up some moving boxes. They have sold their bed and breakfast motel here and need to get personal stuff packed up. Downside is, the deal is moving fast and they will be moving on the 30th. With Christmas weekend followed by a full motel for the holidays, it's gonna be hectic. I'm happy for them as his health is not good, so it's time to get into a slower pace of life.

Debating about baking some butter cookies. Just one batch for me to eat. Really don't want sweets around as need to lower cholesterol. But it's Christmas and....

So, guess I'll go back to snoozeland for a bit. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning from South Carolina. It is sunny and the temperatures are very un Ohio! I need to take Audrey and Remi on a good mid morning walk here and then head off to explore Folly Island and a little bit of Charleston.

Gmorning Sue, Tina & all to follow :D

Nice to hear weather reports from "opposite" sides of the spectrum! We're on the snowy side here, should melt this afternoon as temps also get to 40. Hope it doesn't melt our snow pack, since it's so pretty being all white.

Been cleaning the upstairs apt which my bro no longer rents out. It's now a place for family & friends to stay, & on Sat, my niece & her DH will be here for Cmas wkend--so excited! Very different for me as I've had mostly "alone" holidays for the past 25 yrs. So now Anita & Donna & even Catherine know how special it was to have Cmases with them. Catherine, I'm sure you remembered to send me some "cat's tongue" cookies this year ;)

Hope y'all are getting all your baking, shopping, traveling, & in Sue's case, painting done (does she ever stop?)...Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good morning ladies
Painting is slow going but getting it done little
by little. The soreness of my rib gets in the
way and taking down each little fixture, clean it,
paint it and put it back, and of course there is
the need to tape off the cabinet edges, etc.
Who knew such a small space could take so
long to paint.
Brought some of my rocks in from the car, makes me
happy all over again, cause these are nice!!
Barbie, here's a pic for ya,,,
Image
The green-blue ya see in the rock is that copper
type of rock. It has a name but my memory fails
me at the moment.
Y'all have a great day, be safe.

And, more rain!!! It is wonderful!!! I just received a long e-mail from one of my RVW friends, and, all I'm going to say is: I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! This is the most wonderful group of friends anyone could have!!!

Barbie that short trip out here has really turned out nice for you!!! I'm so glad we were able to meet for even such a short amount of time.

My daughter had a dinner party for the Grandson's birthday last night. She did a beautiful job and the condo looked very festive. (even without a Christmas tree).

There are persons who just don't understand how we could NOT have a tree. She and I do not miss one at all, and, Dec 26th, we will appreciate not having one all the more!!!

I had completely forgotten to get my flu shot, so I went and got one yesterday.

A woman just walked by holding her umbrella so it covers both her and her dog! She is walking a little stouped over.

It poured here in Arizona last night. We'll see more today.

Yesterday I ran a few errands. Shortly after pulling out on the busy street from Walmart, kaboom, touch driving, loud.... Turned the corner and pulled into another parking lot... Right front tire flat. Before I was even around the car to see it, a man came out of a brake shop asking if I have a spare. I said yes, and he called out for someone to bring the portable lift and change my tire. Ha, he had to wait while I emptied my trunk... Groceries, kayak, etc etc. He finished and had me pull into a bay so he could tighten it and add air. I tried to pay... No charge. I did convince him to take $5. And I wished all of them a very Merry Christmas. Kudos to this business and these individuals.

I'm still laying in bed. Time to get moving. I'm sure Peaches wants a walk. And I need to do laundry between raindrops.

Went with Abby's Girl Scout troop to the ice rink yesterday. The girls had so much fun! Even the ones who hadn't skated before got their balance pretty quickly. The rink had something I haven't seen before -- big plastic things, shaped almost like a child's highchair, that they could push around the ice while they learned. Impressive!

Today I'll be on the ice -- the snow is melting, and ice spots are forming, some of them on the steps and path. Gotta get those out of there!

Everybody enjoy this holiday week. :D

Raining steadily here in Pahrump, NV. I'm trying to decide if I should just hang out here through the weekend as another colder storm is expected Friday and Saturday. Since all I know is I'm going south and not sure where I'll stop, this is better than driving in rain. I'm at the Escapees park where PattyK was living. I last saw her in March when I stopped by for a visit and she had just been to the doctor for tests but hadn't gotten the results yet. Everyone here sure misses her including me.

Louise, do they have one of those plastic things for adults to use at the skating rink? I use to have delusions of skating again until my sister-in-law broke her leg skating.

It has been misting rain all morning but the temperature is 69 even with it being overcast. Supposedly there will be a cold front coming through in a couple of days but our temperatures aren't dropping. I haven't figured that out yet.

I don't know how Sue gets so much done. I have 2 small pieces of 2x4s that need to be painted and I haven't gotten it done in over a year. Either I can't find the paint or if I find the paint I can't fine the boards. My kitchen could stand to be pained but that would be a 5 year project.

Beth, if you had to have a flat you were in a good place. The back of my car looks like I live in it most of the time. I never though about having to unload all that if I ever have a flat. Most of the time I have 2 sacks of cat food plus groceries that haven't been unloaded.

A lot of years I don't get my tree out and is only 4' tall and doesn't take much to decorate it. I didn't take it out this year because CC would be climbing it. I went to my friends house yesterday and she has a cute tree. It's one of the artificial white trees and she has the Elf legs sticking out the top and the decorations are all red and white.

The other day I was trying to fit a wire shelf in my Rv and ended up unloading all the upper cabinets. The kitchen cabinet shelf needs to be narrow on one end and could be 4 inches wider on the other end. I have some wire shelves that I got for one of the closets in the house. I need to see if I could cut one of them and figure out a way to hang it. I have a mess going on in there now.

Was busy at work today so got a lot of tips! I gave my official notice this morning for January 31st being my last day there. They fired one of the stylists yesterday and his customers are really mad! He has a large clientele and they are very loyal. One guy came in today looking for him and the manager told him that he retired. He reluctantly agreed to let me cut his hair but as I was spraying his hair down, he called the stylist at home and found out he was fired. He pulled off the cape, got out of my chair and said we were a bunch of liars, and walked out the door!

Another stylist was gonna be moved to another shop but now with me leaving, they will probably keep her here which I am sure she will appreciate. So much drama!!! Everyone is sad that I am leaving but envy me too. They all wish they could move out there!

I do hope this is my last move for quite awhile! I am ready to just stay put and settle down. I am hoping this place will be very comfortable for me and Lola and the job will be drama-free too! At least I can always go down to the beach to relax and destress if I need to!

Sounds like everyone is getting wet today! Lots of rain here overnight as well, and off and on today. Better than snow! :o

My brother and his wife are planning to rent an RV after Christmas and travel around the western states and down here to visit her son. My brother has never driven an RV and is basically clueless about them, so I ordered the dvd "RV" with Robin Williams and had it sent to him for Christmas! He should get a kick out of that! :D

I work again tomorrow and then have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off. Then will be working 5 days straight after that. Almost 30 hours for next week which will be good.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

A little past morning, but wanted to let Carolb not to wait on those 'lenguas de gatos' (cat's tongues) cookies. I have so little time now that I'm out here - between work & the baby, I'm worn out at the end of the day.

Lots of rain the past few days here. I've enjoyed it but am ready for that dang sunshine to come back.

Gaby & Irwin are coming up tonight. They fly out of LAX for France tomorrow. The news said LAX is #1 in the country for delays & problems right now so I hope I can get them there on time & they get out ok.

I did get a little $5 Christmas tree last weekend - it's out on the patio with lights - looks pretty festive, if I do say so myself. I don't really need one, but the kids were talking about how much they enjoy Christmas decorations so I splurged.

Barbie, I'm happy for you. Maybe we can meet up once you get out here. Hope you continue to get lots of tips. ;)
Ava, I told the kids just to bring me back some pebbles or little rocks from France - I don't want them to spend money & I'd love to have something that has spent most of its existence in the French countryside.

Well, I'd better get this place cleaned up. They should arrive in a couple of hours.
Hope everyone stays warm & enjoys the holidays.
