Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday, last day of fall?

Postby carolb » Tue Dec 20, 2016 4:18 am

Gmorning all :)

Hey winter! It's not like we haven't had much winter weather already, so I'll enjoy this last official day of fall & look forward to longer days ahead  My RT friends were back over this past weekend, after a one day drive to get here turned into almost 3 days of travel due to some fun blizzards! Like Pat, it was like celebrating Cmas with them here. We made some good meals (I even cooked again!) & watched a couple of our favorite Cmas dvds:) Have to thank Peggy again for introducing me to these Trekkers.

Barbie & Lyn, glad you got together. Been meaning to tell you Lyn, that I'm happy to hear that your DD has found someone special:) Barbie, sounds like you & Lola will be happy with your next move. Donna, I have happy memories of spending Cmas with you & your dad last year. Hope you & Phee do something special, take a break from settling the estate stuff:)

So countdown to the big day, & I hope y'all are enjoying the "last minute rush." Wishing safe travels to those of you who are on your way to celebrate with your people or to destinations where you'll celebrate in quiet solitude with your 4-leggers:)

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good morning! Looking forward to the days getting longer, Carol! I mentioned a few days ago that we were almost sure to have a white Christmas but the rain and warmer temps the other day melted it all! And, as usual, the forecast changed again and looks like no snow until next week! Good news for those traveling over the holiday.

I finally got my cards finished yesterday and now just have to get them in the mail. I need to go out today and get some shopping done. Another trip to Petco for food for the pups. The new food I have the guys on comes in a smaller bag then what they used to be on. This one is grain free. Don't know for sure if it's helping or if it's the change of season but my older dog isn't scratching and licking himself raw so I'll take it.

Barbie, exciting that you are getting things in place for your move to CA and got to meet up with Lyn. Funny schedule you have, Beth! Sue, are you dug out? How's the knee? And Linda, congrats on your new RV!

Well, times awasting and I need to get moving. Sun is out and the day awaits. Have a great day, stay warm and be safe!

Good morning ladies
Total spur of the moment fun weekend.
Got a call and invite for a rockhounding
excursion up a dirt road. My rock collection
is getting bigger. Maggie is such a trooper
when it comes to hiking in the desert.
Ended the day with a good soak in the
hot tub, although,,,at one point the
wind blew the cover over on us and as
I proceeded to reach out and help move
it, I felt a little pop in my rib. So,,,ya,,,,
I got a little owie. It will heal.
Did my meeting with retirement assoc,
all good info there and if I wait another
year, it actually goes down because its
based on last highest 10 years, one more year
would drop off the first highest year and puck up
this year which brings it down. So this is it!
Barbie, so glad you got a little trip in to SD. Good
thing you didn't sell your trailer, your gonna need
it for moving again.
Ok, I have no more news, y'all have a great day
and be safe.
Somewhere with Ava and Maggie

Oh, Ava, that is good news about your retirement meeting! I'm so glad to hear it.

My first seed catalog has arrived! Much fun coming up. Sometimes I think I like gardening in January even more than other times of the year. In my January garden everything grows perfectly, and there are no weeds or pests.

Yea for longer days! I hate days that are so short that they seem to end as soon as they begin. And not enough daylight time to do things.

I've been getting some very occasional insect bites, but they have been small and not too bad. In the last couple of days, I have had two new ones that are big and hard, but not quite as red as the ones were a month ago when I had to go to the urgent care facility and take prednisone. So I took a Benedryl last night and may take another today to keep these under control. I do have a prescription cream also.

Got my hair trimmed a bit yesterday to get rid of the frill at the back by my neck and the long parts around my ears. The last lady who cut it cut it extremely short on the top, but left the sides and lower back part long--weird So, now I feel better. Also bought a new suitcase to replace the one I had to toss from mildew last summer. After I am done using it to go to Ohio in January, I will triple wrap it in plastic bags. I am also checking that compartment more often for damp things.

Off for a long bike ride today! Hope all of you have good days.

It got down to 33 last night so didn't freeze again like they predicted. It has warmed back up to 64 and should be 75 by Christmas. :D

I have been making cookies this morning. One of the recipes says to refrigerate overnight so should have made them last night. If Harold does't stay out of the cake balls I will have to make another batch. I made my favorite cookies that call for oats, frosted flakes and I put toffee chips instead of chocolate. I can make myself sick with them.

Harold just got back from the dentist so I put CC outside to cool his heels. He has been on high all morning. I posted a video to Facebook of him playing with a battery operated cat. I wish I had started taping him when I first put it out. He was jumping 3 feet in the air when it would move. The new has worn off if it and he just chews on it a little. The other cats know it's not a real cat so ignore it. I told Harold that when we move to the nursing home we can take the battery operated cat with us.

Ava, glad your retirement is still a go.

Barbie, hope your move to CA works out for you. I don't know how the place where you work think they can keep employees if they won't give you enough hours to make a living. I'm so glad I'm retired. I had a couple of chances to keep working and passed.

Another long day of driving! My eyes hurt!!

Went out for breakfast this morning and then headed to La Jolla. Took lots of pics and video of the beaches, waves and sea lions! Love the sounds and smell of the ocean! Did a little window shopping (can barely afford to even do that in La Jolla! :o ). Then headed back to Phoenix. Luckily the wind wasn't nearly as bad today. The long driving time really strains my eyes tho. Need to get off here and get to bed and let them rest!

Hope you all had a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

You didn't mention (or I missed it) stopping to see your old boss and firm up your job. Were you able to do that also?
