Saturday, one week to Christmas Eve

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday, one week to Christmas Eve

Postby Colliemom » Sat Dec 17, 2016 7:30 am

Morning everybody,

Hope your all bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning, or will be when ya all wake up. Final week to get those Christmas preps done or maybe this is the year to drop some of them and start something new. No law saying ya gotta do this or that before Christmas gets here. I remember growing up, we had the tree, but didn't decorate the house from ceiling to floor, dad and later I put lights up outside, we shopped, wrapped gifts and put them under the tree, well of course not till Santa came on Christmas Eve when I was young. Baked cookies, made fudge and that was it. Oh yeah, wrote Christmas cards. But it seemed so less hectic. Mom and my two aunts rotated Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve dinners each year and Christmas Day was spent going to mass, opening our gifts, then going to grandparents and friends houses.

Cheryl, I was snooping the dealers website where I got my last trailer and saw the pictures of the Passport 23RB. Now that's neat. Somebody finally decided it was time to make a decent kitchen with an island that also subs for a table instead of a dinette. So much more counter space and stools to perch on.

Nothing much on agenda here today. Got a bum knee, so not doing much today. Long story short, seems either knee or knee cap gotout of joint, but Under treatment from Chiropractor, feeling a little better this morning. Putting heat on about 4 times a day as instructed and see her on Monday. Been through this before. It's tingling a bit this morning, so tells swelling is going down. So will be watching movies and puttering. Might run vac etc., as need to move it around some too. Snowed last night, but it's gonna stay right there as more coming anyway.

So nice to see so many posts yesterday and no, I didn't Photoshop that dog picture. They were looking at something outside, don't remember if it was neighbor walking dog or a squirrel. One of those in the right place at the right time moments. Have a nice day, travel safe if on the road, keep warm where it's cold and cool where it's warm

Good morning Sue and all... I know you all in the north are having cold snowy freezing weather but I'm beginning to think that we are not going to have much of a winter this year I was looking at January and February weather forecast and it's not going to get that cold.... I was looking forward to wearing my new Mickey fleece jacket LOL... I got all my Christmas obligations finished and in the mail I sent my son's family there's before I went to Silver Spring two weeks later they still hadn't received it so my DIL used the tracking number and finally found what happened to it... the mail person put it in her car that was unlocked and she hasn't been driving the car for the last couple of months and never bothered to look in it ... but that's where they put it I'm glad I didn't have to redo all that because I didn't have time.... so now that Christmas stuff is in the mail trying to figure out what I should do next today I think I'm going to take a down day today.... but I have to get back to the packing more purging and trying to find a place to live ... and I found out here in Central Florida that's not an easy thing to do.... well that's all for now ....have a good one & B safe....donna

There's been a change in the weather

Postby Redetotry » Sat Dec 17, 2016 7:41 am

Good Saturday Morning,
Woke up to a a definite change, it is 60 degrees!! By evening though it's supposed to drop into the single digits. Just so we don't get spoiled, before that, we get rain and maybe the dreaded ice. Oh well ,guess I will brave the crowds that will be out taking advantage of the brief interlude of warmth. So far I haven't done any shopping and I have a very short list. DH and I always agree not to buy anything for each other but he always buys me something so of course, I have to think up something for him. I also need to think of food for Christmas Day as only the Chinese restaurants will be open. :(.

We took my younger brother out for dinner last night for his birthday. He said he had bought a new shotgun because his little Mountain Feist dog was mad at him. Last time they were out, she had a squirrel treed and he shot and missed with his rifle. She gave him a withering look and walked away. He thought she would come back but she didn't. He headed toward his truck and there she was waiting by the door.

Enjoy the day and keep warm or cool, safe travels to those on the roads.

I guess I need to get on my Christmas cooking. I want to make some of the Pecan Ball cookies and use up some of the pecans I have picked. I make cake balls for my friends and that takes some time and is messy. Walmart was out of the chocolate bark I usually use and had another kind. Hope it works the same.

My step-daughter sent us a ham and I see that the insurance agent called. He gives us a ham too. I would like to cook another turkey breast for Christmas but I don't have room for all that in my refrigerator. I think I will cut the meat off the ham bone and put some beans in the slow cooker with the bone. That will make some room.

I hear a cat growling so CC must be after one of the old lady cats. I think it's time for him to go outside and play. This morning he was thundering through the house. If he grows up to his feet he's going to be a big cat.

Good morning all! Or rather early afternoon! I set here this morning trying to decide if I should snowblow or wait out the drizzle but finally decided to give it a try. I was anxious to see if my repair job was going to work. A shear bolt on the auger broke the other day, a trip to the hardware store, wrong bolt even though I told him what it was for. So a lesson from my BIL on the phone plus finding the book for the snowblower and surprise, 2 extra bolts were apparently included when we bought it 20+ years ago! So apparently I fixed it and it worked! Hard getting through the icy crust but if we get some sun this afternoon I'll be good! See what you southern gals miss :D Anyway, I'm done playing in the mess outside. Time to get something done inside now. My fitbit shows I walked 1.82 miles out there. And to think I never left home! Sue, take care of your knee. Maybe someone will take pity on you and do your snowblowing! Have a feeling this is going to be a long winter! Donna, missing it yet? BJ, laughed at your brother's story about his dog! And Martha, you sure have your hands full with CC! Maybe someday he'll learn not tto mess with old ladies! I need to google cake balls, I just read a story and they talked about them and now you mention them.

Hope you all have a great day and if you're on the road, be safe.

Getting in just before noon here. The sun is out again after a tiny bit of rain yesterday. Will be in the low 60's today. Saw that the midwest is in the subzero temps again. -20 below tonight for Minneapolis with windchills down to -50 below! Looks like its gonna be a long, cold miserable winter up there! I picked the right time to head south!

Have been shopping on-line for things I will need when I move to California (TV, bedroom stuff). Just looking and checking out prices for now. Will check CL too, once I get out there. I want my room to be comfortable but not cluttered and overcrowded with stuff. Am hoping to stay put in one spot for awhile! The ad for the room I am looking at was deleted yesterday shortly after talking to the lady, so am hoping that is a good sign!! We had a great conversation and seem to have a lot in common. Hopefully it will be a good fit for both of us. I can't wait to go out and check it out. Probably right after the 1st of January.

The cookie exchange party is tonight here. My roommate and her daughter have been baking and cooking to get ready for it. Lots of mother/daughter drama going on. I am just staying in my room for now! Might go sit out by the pool later.

I had ordered a dozen cute little metal reindeer tea light holders for gifts for my coworkers. I glued some tiny red pompoms on their noses. I dropped them off at work yesterday and they were a big hit! They are really cute! Also made peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses in the middle. Love those!

Looks like my dad's bank accounts all got closed. I wonder if they finally got fed up with my dad's fraud issues?

I asked for an extra day to work next week at another shop if possible. So what did they do? They cut out one day at my shop and put me on one day at a different shop. So no additional hours, just a more complicated schedule!!

Have a good one!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Afternoon ladies ~~~
Late I know, but wanted to get out and get grocery shopping and other chores done before the weather turns bad again. Already had freezing drizzle on the way home, so glad I went out earlier than usual.

Cute little Passport Sue, looks like a lot more storage & counter space than I currently have in Colt with the rear bath. I'd like to get out more to look before the February RV show, but this is the 3rd weekend in a row with snow and the RV shopping isn't a rush. Well it will winter in a few days so it won't be getting better anytime soon.

Funny about your brother's dog BJ. If only we could read their minds sometimes. Good luck on selling Myrtle Linda and getting a B. And Barbie, have you spoken to your brother's about Dad's accounts? Better for you to be out of the day to day situation Barbie.

That's it. Not much else. Stay safe & warm everyone and if you're warm ~~~ send some this way please 8-)

It is not morning here anymore but here I am anyway.

Enjoying the great weather here in Yuma AZ. Been here a couple of weeks now and will be moving tomorrow to Maricopa over by Tucson. Camping with 3 other friends but we will be parting company in Maricopa. My friend is leaving for her year of international travel with other business owners. She will be spending a month in each country for a year. Her Dad and his friend Dan will be kicking around for a few months more as they are from Indiana and it is cold up there ha ha I will just continue kicking around here until Quartzsite then will move up there to meet up with the other gals. Right now I hav no idea where to go but I am sure someone will remedy that problem ha ha

Was 19* at my house today ha ha so glad I am here. This is a fairly large RV park and they had a parade last night that went up and down all the rows with decorated floats, golf carts, bikes and wonderful Christmas music playing. Was a short parade but longer than I thought it would be. They have a cookout every Wednesday here and whatever they are BBQ'ing is $3.00 pretty well worth it. Had some dental work done here in Mexico so I just drooled over what they served and went home and had my soup.

A good wind blew in last night and now it is still just a little breezy out. The temps have dropped to the low 60's but it is still sunny. Kinda cool in the shade but warm in the sun. We walked down to the river here, it is at the end of our row, and sat for a bit enjoying the sunshine. Now inside getting ready to stow all the "flyables" in anticipation of leaving tomorrow. Will dump my tanks later on so I dont have to fuss with it tomorrow morning.

Cheryl, my brothers are aware of what is going on with my dad. They keep trying to talk to him but he refuses to believe them. He is convinced that he is now dealing with the FBI and so it must all be legit. He is so totally brainwashed! I am glad I am far enough away from all that now that it isn't nearly so stressful and frustrating for me like it was before!

Karen, if you want company, Beth is in Tucson, and Ava and I are up in Phoenix...just sayin'!

Karen, I'm heading south tomorrow first to Death Valley. Not sure how long I'll stay. From there I'll head south toward Tucson, Benson and who knows where. Let me know if you'd like to get together.
