Heeeeerrrre's Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Heeeeerrrre's Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Dec 06, 2016 8:17 am

Morning,

Cloudy out there, temps in upper 20's. Colder air on the way for later tomorrow and lake effect snow moving in, so guess winter will be coming to stay.

Voting recount underway here in MI. Don't know what it will accomplish, but..... WI is also recounting.

Nothing earth shaking to report here. Was out shopping in Traverse City yesterday. Sears and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Bought another battery for my drill, some new drill bits and screwdrivers. Exciting huh! Women has to keep up her tool collection  Just picked up a couple things at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Heading to town this morning for some shopping as well. Time to restock the larder around here with the colder weather and lake effect coming in. Also need to do a little insulation work along the basement joist rim in my workshop. Bit cool in there, so need to add a little insulation along the bottom of the house wall where it meets the basement wall, so will be picking up some stuff for that. Then can hunker down and let it snow and blow outside.

So, guess I shall get dressed here and get ready to mosey along. Hope you all have a nice day, no matter what you are getting into. If you are on the road, stay safe. Looks like some fun coming up in FL this coming week. Liz, beautiful pictures of Silver River as well.

Good morning, Sue and all to follow. Yes, winter is here, I think. Thursday is the day it all falls apart here or at least that's what the weatherman says! We're supposed to get some snow at some point today but the really cold stuff is in a couple of days. I was supposed to go to Grove City today with a friend but we decided to put it off until tomorrow since it's kinda iffy today. We'll see how tomorrow shapes up to see if we go or not. Other then that, that's about all the excitement in my life. I need to get some Christmas cards out so today may be a good day to at least get started on that project.

My DIL and I had to remove a surgical staple from her rottie the other day. Apparently when they removed them on Saturday at the vet's they missed one, I've removed sutures before but this was a first for a staple! So I managed to find a very small pair of wire cutters in the tool box and we managed to snip it and get it out. Not exactly the proper instruments but it worked! But he wasn't happy with me, he took the treat I had for him but wouldn't have anything to do with me the rest of the evening! So I guess I have some making up to do with him!

Well, coffee is done so I'd better go get dressed and get the day going. Hope all goes well in FL for the gtg! Sounds like a fun time! Donna, your site looks so homey! See you got your clam up! Did it go as easily as advertised? Have a good day and if you are on the road, be safe.

Good Morning from Silver River where it is raining and has been off and on since during the night. Liz and Donna are off to appoinments. Irmi and Brenda are coming at noon. The heat and humidity did me in again yesterday, but temps are expected to drop after today.

That's what's happening here!

Liz, Donna, Anita, or someone at Silver Springs State Park: it is pouring rain here and we're getting lots of strong gusts of wind. I know this is extremely short notice, but could we postpone our luncheon for perhaps tomorrow, due to the inclement weather? I hope one of you see this message!

Still sounds like fun even with the rain! Wish I were down there to visit. Nothing much going on around here. It is cold (54*) in the mornings when I am out walking Casey at 5:00 AM.
The news continues to be filled with the tragedy in Oakland over the week-end. So sad. My Grands are all in that age group and I do worry for them.
Drive safely if you are out in that snow! lyn

Good morning
Been raining here since about noon on Saturday. With the prolonged drought and wildfires, no one in complaining about the much needed rain. Thankfully it will quit before the bottom falls out of temps here on Thursday tho there is a chance of a few snow flurries.
I added a little more antifreeze to Magic yesterday and removed a few more things that might freeze. Sure hope I got everything. Also have noticed several more things missing that I failed to report to insurance - too late now. I suppose I won't actually id everything until I use her again.
Appointment to get oil changed in van today then meet with nieces to address some new problems they have.
Wishing all a good day

Good Morning, countdown to closing has begun. Appraisal is this week. Not much left in the house, its beginning to echo :) . Only things left to put in the storage unit are the washer/dryer, four drawer file cabinet and rolling tool cabinet. Our clothes closet will be last to sort, donate and pack in RV. Husband says we will be bored. I will take the boredom!! The end of he month the RV will come out of storage and go into an RV Park so we will have a place to stay till after signing. Day after signing we hit the road. We both are getting excited. Have a great day!!

It's back up to the 70's here again and the sun is shining. It will be a few days before everything dries out.

We brought my son's car and went to Costco. I don't really care for Costco as much as Sam's. They don't take my credit cards so I have to give them a check. They only take VISA and Costco cards and I'm not getting another credit card just to suit them. Went to Marshall's and Home Goods. I don't like Marshall's since they moved. There is more home stuff than clothes. I did enough walking to aggravate my foot again. Guess I'm going to have to break down and go to a doctor one of these days.

The cats tore up one of their cat trees that came from Walmart. I ordered one on line that is a little stronger. The one Walmart use to sell I could put a PVC pipe through the middle and that worked good. The ones they sell now come in sections and screw together. If I could figure out how to put the platforms on a pole I would try making my own.

Mid-afternoon here ... nothing much going on. Peaches and I walked up to the top of the hill behind the park- I hadn't planned to do that, so didn't have my walking stick with. Need to bring it and walk along the top up there one day before leaving here. Peaches never ceases to surprise me. When we got here, our first walk she headed straight for the gate that leads to the dog park. Now realize she hasn't been here in two years. And she usually doesn't care too much for dog parks. But she doesn't use this one to go potty - it's play time. It's a good size and has a covered shelter. In that shelter is a big barrel full of toys. The barrel changed from two years ago and she can't get in and pull every toy out like she could the old one ... but I tilted it so she could - and she is disappointed because there are no stuffed animals this year lol ... But she has decided we can play ball - and boy does she play ball in there. I have similar balls - she rarely will touch them ... goof ball.

Then, like two years ago, she finds something in the desert (outside the fence area and outside the park in the desert I let her off leash) that she finds special. This time it's not even a bone from what I can see - but a piece of branch. She then has to run around and find the perfect place to bury it. Next time we walk that way (about every two or three days - as we go different directions) she will go dig it out and have to find a new place to bury it again. She never forgets where it is. And so far, it's always still been there when she returns.

Last night was a dinner in the park. I prefer how they do this to the parks that have lots of pot lucks. OK, I sometimes prefer pot lucks if I get to have left overs. But I figured I spend more doing a pot luck and I just don't enjoy fixing food for one weekly. Here they cook (well volunteers cook) and we have to purchase tickets. So I spent $8 for a pot roast dinner last night and got a gigantic portion of roast accompanied by mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, a roll and followed by a dish of ice cream. I haven't looked to see what the dinner next Monday is, but I'll probably be going again. Take off for Tucson a week from today.
