Traveling Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Traveling Thursday

Postby asirimarco » Thu Nov 17, 2016 7:47 am

Good Morning to All. Taking a few minutes to check things on-line and waiting for the sun to come over the mountain. When it gets light we will hit the road and about a half hour, nope a little longer, forgot we need to get gasoline in the RV, we will cross the border. Any way we will shortly be in Mexico. We got all our paperwork done the other day so we don't have to stop there. Will have three toll booths today and at least one Mexican check point. Sometimes they stop us, some times they stick their head in and sometimes there is no one around. Always an adventure. Long day for us today almost 300 miles to San Carlos on the Sea of Cortez.
Bill's cold is better and I have a sore throat now - think I'll kick him if I come down with that cold he has had.
Hope everyone feels well and has safe travel in good weather.

"Camping" at the Columbus, Ohio, dog shows at the fairgrounds. Ready or not here we go again! Audrey is only showing because entries are always sent in 2.5 weeks before the show dates. No pressure. She can have fun and help her friends. Think a bunch of us are going out for dinner on Saturday night. :)

Good morning
The stone passed and I'm on the mend. I expect to return
to work tomorrow.
Barbie, so sorry things are not working out. Someday when
your looking for something to do, go out to Butcher Jones along
the Salt River, that's where the wild horses hang out. Just go north
on Power Rd, you'll find it.
Its a little chilly this morning by AZ standards and the furnace
is on but I think weather is only calling for two days of this.
Time to get dressed, run to the store and then dr appt at 9:30.
Beth, trying to remember where your next assignment is, thinking
its close enough I can visit. ??
Y'all have a great day, be safe.

Good Morning
A beautiful weather day here and we have one more left before winter arrives (temps forecast to drop 25 degrees and our first freeze). Winds have shifted and blown the wildfire smoke away so air quality has improved greatly.
Looking forward to a visit by Liz as she works her way back east. Too bad our great weather isn't going to last a few more days for her stop over. After 2 months with no rain, there is even a chance of showers while she is here.
Ava - so happy you are on the mend.
Tina - sure hope this show is a good for you and the pups as the last one. You will shortly have a houseful of certified champions (we already think all of you are champs).

Good Morning,

Alice, glad that ordeal is behind you. What are the chances of it happening again? Barbie, sorry about your missing things, but reminds me of mothers telling kids to pick up their things or she'll toss them. Strange how manager can take it upon herself without checking with people, especially since she is new. Tina, fun following you and your furbabies and the successes!

Intended to drive to Clearwater to pick up package I forgot about, but I didn't wake up until 9:30! Lots of naps lately, too. Eye exam yesterday and hoping glasses will be correct! Optometrist was young and seemed a little flakey.

Sarah, snuck in. I had been thinking I should have stayed north a little longer, but not after seeing your post about freeze!

Make it a great day and safe travels!

Good to see what everyone is up to. Safe travels to those who are on the road. We had our coldest night since last winter, in upper 30's. Maybe rain this weekend, but not much. It's a Costco trip for us shortly. We had a virtual visit to Oklahoma earlier, sister in law is having fun with her new iPhone and FaceTime ! I have my older 5s but she has the new 7 plus and said she would have bought it long ago if she knew she could see us and talk! ( no one listens to me when i suggest such)! We got to see the headstone she had made for their father and mother. Whew I'm exhausted from traveling to Oklahoma and back! LOL more FaceTime to come, I suspect, now that she discovered it! Ive been trying for years to get she and Mel to figure out how we could see each other. Neither seemed to get how fun it would be until now!
Have a god day all.

I was up from 2:30 am to 6:30 am this morning, so I ended up sleeping until 10 am. I have a new, large crop of bites of some sort--mostly on my legs. I had to get bit setting up on Monday and walking back and forth doing laundry on Tuesday. They are mostly on my legs, but some on my arms. Large red and swollen welts making me miserable, although maybe not as miserable as AVA/Alice's problem.

The last few years I have been getting large red spots whenever I get bit. And they sting and itch like crazy for days. I am really beginning to think I will not be able to come back to Florida again because of the bugs. I have tried almost every crème except the Benadryl gel Donna suggested. I am at Sebastian Inlet but am afraid to go out at all. Leaving tomorrow and hoping they are not as bad at WP Franklin near Ft Myers. Going to stop on the way and get some of those arm bands and maybe some other stuff. Only thing that allowed me to sleep last night was half of a vicodin!

Donna stopped by yesterday and we picked up a pizza and brought it back here. She really has a nice Roadtrek! It was really nice to chat, but I wonder if I picked up some more bites when I walked out to meet her. Guess I have to start wearing long pants and long-sleeved shirts.

Judy - I started getting those large reds spots from bites a year or two ago and they've gotten progressively worse. I've now tested positive for almost all non venomous insects as well as a lot of other environmental things. Never had serious allergy problems until I got about 100 fire bites a few years ago. That did a number on my immune system. Took a sudden severe turn for the worse last spring. Been undergoing aggressive treatments for past seven months with little improvement.
You probably should get tested for allergies. Better to start treating them sooner rather than later so I've learned the hard way. Good luck
