Did you know you can get stones in your saliva glands?
Well I never knew it, but it looks like mumps, doctor said no
mumps but guess its called parotid stone. I wouldn't wish
this on my worst enemy, this is painful. I'm suppose to suck
on candy and eat but that makes the saliva flow and has no where
to go, thus the pain. Big golf ball looking swelling under my
left ear. I just never knew you could get a stone anywhere
else other than kidneys. So, antibiotics to prevent infection in ear
and glands, lots of water, massage the lump. If it doesn't break
up, they can do a little minor in office surgery procedure. Hope
it doesn't come to that. Ok, I admit, this has me flipped out
cause I don't get sick.

Wow, so sorry, Alice. I've never heard of that either! Hope you feel better soon and won't need surgery.

Wow, that sounds painful! I hope you can get it to break up yourself. Was reading about it and there is some type of shock wave procedure that can be done too that sounds a bit less invasive than surgery. Good luck!

Yikes, so sorry. I hope you can get it to break up and that nothing more serious comes from it. Hugs.

A Warthins Tumor,is NOT the same as a stone. The stones are calcium and a Warthins is a granuloma tumor, which may or may not be malignant. Very different.

Keep holding together.....moving forward.....get better....

I remind myself on the occasions that my body lets me down how blessed I am to be fairly healthy most of the other times.....as I work to survive.

Ah, retirement. You couldn't just make it easy for her to get to would you?

Ouch, Alice! I hope you can get rid of them without surgery. Had to look to see how many places we can get stones - kidney, bladder, gall bladder, salivary glands, pancreas.

Isn't amazing the new things we learn about what can go wrong as we get into the "golden years." Years ago I had to have a saliva gland removed. It was lower, under the tongue area. No stone, but it had swollen and got hard. Turned out to be nothing, but scary.
Hope it breaks up on itself! And you get feeling better.
