Windy Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Windy Saturday

Morning from the windy, chilly 45th,

25 and frosty out there this morning. Nice and toasty in here. Sun is coming up, nice day on agenda. I'll probably be in most of day.. You know how it is when the best laid plans go out the window, well mine sort of have. Thought that since it's getting colder, be good time to start doing inside things in the house here. First project is to paint front bedroom and make that my office. So yesterday I took the spare bed apart and am storing it in spare bathroom out of my way for now. No having to work around it or cover it. Then going to paint, move office stuff in from back bedroom and set bed back up eventually. No hurry etc. Then got email from friends downstate, want to come up end of next week and have early Thanksgiving with me  So now, gotta get the ball moving so I can get the spare bed room ready by Thursday

Donna, glad you are slowly making progress, but taking some time to play too. Purging an estate is hard work and many decisions need to be made. As for your stuff, a lot depends on how bad you really want to keep it or will actually use it. If you have stuff that's been stored for awhile and you haven't missed it, might be time to let it go. Especially craft stuff. If you are going to be traveling around, might be cheaper to let go and buy new as you need it rather than pay storage fees.

CArol, hope you can head south soon. Saw on Weather Channel where the smoke is spreading all over from those fires. Martha, did Harold get to his Dr. On time?

Gotta get a move on here. Hope everyone has a nice day today.

Good Morning Sue and Everyone !! Nothing like working under pressure, good luck this next week. The bad thing is I know you pace your work and enjoy, I'm thinking you'll loose that feeling this chore. But company is always nice too! Good luck !

Last day here, I hope , have decided to start trip out, going down through Atlanta , praying it's not a bad smoke day there and route to get down that way is not too smokey either. Getting real serious here. No real rain even in forecast.

Need to get moving, trip to dump with a big load, will take what I collect after with me and leave at CG. Take bags of things out to RV, turn frig on, and hope I can load frig and freezer this evening.

Hope you all enjoy a good weekend, whatever your plans stay safe , Please,
CArol

For anyone who stores furniture, a lesson I learned the hard way. First, put plastic down in the entire storage room. Then put your furniture up on plastic blocks of some sort so if moisture gets in, it will not creep up the legs of whatever and cause damage. I lost a couple of really expensive pieces that way. Next time, if there is ever a next time, everything will be up on blocks of some sort.

Got cousins coming for lunch today and to watch boats go by and through the locks. These are brother and sister who are younger than me, but who lived next door when we were growing up. They are bringing spouses and it will really be fun to see them. I have a ton of cousins because both of my parents came from large families. More later.

Yes, Harold made it. I think he needs to redo his blood work but he can't find the papers they gave him. Will have to call on Monday. Goodness Sue, I can't even imagine 25. It's 65 here and the low was only 60. It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away. My sister said she wasn't coming to my house for Thanksgiving because I make Stove Top Stuffing. I really don't but I'm not telling her that.

My friend called yesterday so we went off to Lafayette. I never go to the mall unless it's with her and we made Macy's and Dillard's. Only bought a blouse that I probably don't need. Went to the At Home store. It reminds me of Pottery Barn. Not as big and not as junky, but still a lot of stuff. We didn't buy anything there. I think it's overwhelming to have all that stuff to look at. lol What I really needed to do was go to Walmart and after I picked up my son at the airport I didn't feel like going. He wanted a burger from 5 Guys Burgers and it is in the middle of the biggest traffic jam in Lafayette. His ex-wife is from Turkey so I guess a week of her food was enough. I am so glad I had cataract surgery, I can see so much better at night.

Donna, hope your group can find another church and stay together.

I'm getting tired of the rain and gloom. It's keeping me from some of the places I want to go. It's supposed to be better next week... better or not, it'll be my last week here, so will go go go :D

Sue, you always seem to get things done so fast, I bet you don't really have to move faster than normal. But this puts pressure on that wasn't there. Good luck.

CArole, safe travels and enjoy. Same to all others on the road, or not, for that matter.

The Veterans Day pot luck here yesterday was nice. I overate. Nothing new there.

Wifi here has been pretty iffy, so I'm not getting all my blog posts caught up. I'm going to work harder on that. Maybe a few late nights while everyone else is sleeping.

Good Afternoon from Clearwater, FL -

Catching up a bit with all of you - slow Internet at the last place and then busy. CArol, safe travels! Glad you are on your way.

Just finished the two days of SS riding here with a great bunch. Got 20,000 miles service done on SS. The vendor and his employees here have been providing gifts for needy families for several years. Last year he turned it into a SS event. The families are picked by his church. We all donate plus there are raffles - the vendor's employees do the gift buying. We rode to the beach last evening and through some country roads today. A buffet followed and the selected families were at the lunch. Santa and Mrs. Claus came - Santa handed out one present to each child. The rest of their presents are given to their parents to give them on Christmas. Each child also received a new bicycle today. Oh the joy!! These guys all treat me like I'm Queen of the Road - it is very humbling, almost embarrassing but very heartwarming.

I've got some photo posting to catch up on and have free Wi-Fi here so will get with it! Here's the link to photos: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 263bb497f0
