Veteran's Day 2016

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Veteran's Day 2016

Postby Colliemom » Fri Nov 11, 2016 6:33 am

Morning,

DARK OUT THERE AT 0 thirty. Wkevup at 5:30 and couldn't go back to sleep, so said heck with it. Need to take girls to groomer this morning and have appt. in town right after I drop them off. So need to be rolling early anyway.

Veterans Day today. Time to say thank you to all those who have served our country. I think of my father each year on this day.

Been really windy here, hoping it will blow the rest of my leaves outta here, not that there are many left. Thinking of you O'Sharon while you try to get yours under control. JudyJB, bet you will be glad when this semester is over. Beth, it's nice to see you having time to post and enjoying yourself. Pat, got my morning laugh reading about your adventures with Bronc.

Hope you all have a nice day. Just noticed that the time I posted this, is an hour later than the actual time. Apparently thevposrs are still on Daylight Savings Time,, my IPad says it's 6:37 a.m., the post says 7:33

Good Morning Sue and Everyone !! I'm cold !! :D Temp has really dropped here, below freezing couple nights, time to head to Fl, I guess. I've probably been in Fl just too much the past several years for one reason or other and the blood has thinned again :o  So much to do yet.

No news really from here except for the list of things to do today and I won't bore you all with that. All of my leaves here have not all fallen so guess I will have some on the deck after all through snow time. I'm worried about these fires everywhere, as I'm not able to get out and clean my yard as I usually do and have a lot of leaves too close to house and out buildings. No one to hire to do it either, disadvantage of living in such a rural area, I guess. So many are volunteer firemen and so busy, including my neighbors, who have not been home much. Haven't even had a chance to let them know I hope and plan to leave Sunday.

Well on with the day, enjoy, and be safe those on the road,
CArol

I didn't want to get up this morning. I was up until about 2:30 watching the Garth Brooks concert. I watched it twice.

Might be a day for long pants. It's 61 and the low last night was 59. Harold has a doctor's appointment at 10:45 and he probably left about 6:00. He has a horse trainer friend up that way. I told him not to get to visiting and forget where he was going. My son is flying home this afternoon and I have to go get him. I want to go early so I can shop. There is a new home store that opened and I would like to see what they have. Not that I need anything.

Good morning everybody... trying to do a little work this morning in the craft room every time I drag something to the garage for the garage sale I get discouraged... I'm going to try and get a few projects together that I can travel with I really would like to make some money on this side with my crafts while traveling... in the Roadtrek that's going to be hard to do it is very small... then again I'm thinking maybe I could really Purge and just keep the small amount of stuff and get a smaller storage unit.... what to do what to do I don't know I don't know.... this afternoon I will be doing my shift at the bazaar 3 to 6.... reasons that the bazaar is moving the church has been dissolved and the building is for sale ... such a sad State of Affairs... have a good one

Good Morning, Beautiful sunshine to start the day. I always love to read about DPF's adventures with her cute cowboy Broc! It always makes me smile. Martha you are going to have to put a tracking device on Harold, maybe one that dings and gives him reminders.
My cousin said that the elementary kids grade 2-5, in our hometown have a special service for veterans. They were all met in the parking lot and walked to the building by students who directed them to seating. It sounded very special. They also have a separate ceremony at the statue of the Doughboy.
Donna so sorry the church has been dissolved.

Back to work today after two days off. Being Veterans Day, we are offering free haircuts to all vets today or they can get a card to use for a free haircut good until the end of the year. We are having a potluck and can wear a red or blue shirt instead of black today!

Yesterday went to transfer my prescription to Walmart which is much cheaper than Walgreens. Stopped at the mall to pick up Cinnabons for our work potluck today. Then stopped at a really nice little park with a large pond and walking trail.

I have an appointment for a massage on Monday. Hoping it will help with my arm issues.

Hope you all have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Been up, eaten my crepes for breakfast, and done a few things, so finally able to sit down and post. Nice and sunny today, and just saw a bunch of boats go down to the locks just a few hundred feet from me. They wait here until the locks are free and they get permission to go through. This is a hard place to get reservations, but it is more than worth it to plan ahead and get up early.

Cousins and spouses are coming for lunch tomorrow, so I am headed out to get some groceries and other stuff, plus dump my tanks on the way out. I spent a few hours yesterday cleaning out underneath storage and the mildew in one. I guess I have to just open it once in a while and let it dry, especially after a truck wash or heavy rain. I am also going to get some of the heavier trash bags and double-bag and seal the clothing I have stored out there. Mostly this time, my older computer bag mildewed. I scrubbed it with bleach and soap and let it dry yesterday. It and my winter coat are indoors now. Going to keep my winter coat and newer rolling computer case in the floor of passenger seat since no one ever sits there anyway. Whew. It really wore me out. I just cannot do much anymore without being out of breath. (Heart is fine and had all the medical checks recently.)
