Sunday with that extra hour

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday with that extra hour

Postby carolb » Sun Nov 06, 2016 7:26 am

Gmorning all :)

Hope y'all do something special with that "extra" hour. Of course for me, waking at my usual time meant being awake since 3:30. So I've been busy paying bills, catching up with personal emails, & finally to here:)

Barbie, seems like you're making the most of your new life! Fall is the best time to move to AZ from a cold climate--you go from summer/fall in MI to summer/fall in AZ:) Alice, how did the "date" go? I totally understand why you've quit "shopping" for your MH--crikey, when I was really trying to stretch a budget, I wouldn't even go to a real mall! Depressing to see things & not have money for them :(

Have been busy with some real housecleaning:) Feeling much better now that cousin is home, sun is shining, & rain has stopped! Looks like a week of mild & sunny weather coming up, so won't have freeze my butt when I get around to raking leaves. Just too many still on the tree to start raking, & then I may just mow & bag some for mulch. So OSharon, we're in the same boat;)

Ok, y'all have a great day... 8-)

Morning Carolb and all,

Up about my usual time here too,but then my 4 legged alarms don't care about time changes  Unlike you though, getting down to last of leaves here. Probably one more good blowing and that will be it. Having some beautiful weather and it will probably be sliding your way pretty soon. So wearing up fall chores here. All set for winter.

Carpet layer coming tomorrow morning to lay new carpet on basement stairs and a bit of vinyl in front of front door. So inside projects are started. All the low hanging ceiling fans are gone and new light fixtures installed except for one bedroom and kitchen. Asince it's gonna get cold end of week, will probably start painting my office room, so I can get some order there.

Right now need to get dressed and ready to leave for Mass, pick up a Sunday paper, trip to grocery store, gas station etc., as well as stop to get new bird feeder post. So busy morning ahead. Have a Blessed Sunday everyone.

Good morning ladies. It's been awhile since I've posted. I've followed along but usually post on Facebook.
No leaves falling here in FL. The temperature hasn't fallen very much either. Still waiting for the 70* days without much humidity. Hope everyone has a great Sunday :D

Good morning! Time change already got the better of me! I was up way early for me today, chilly and dark so I put the dogs out and went back to bed! So I'm now really up! Looks like a nice day today so dare I rake leaves? Trees still have lots of leaves hanging on just waiting for me to get things cleaned up so they can fall! So then I'll have to do it all over again! Sue, sounds like you have lots going on, as usual! I managed to rearrange my living room yesterday. I wanted to move the tv closer to where I usually sit so meant rerouting the cable and hooking everything back up. Many trips up and down the basement steps! I didn't think out the distance thing very well when I bought the smaller set. Now I can at least read the print without standing closer to it! The things we learn! Donna, glad you had a good yard sale. More gas money for your trips this winter! Yep, Carolb, we're in the same boat but sadly, I have many trees to your one! And they all seem to lose leaves at different times!! Sure you don't want to come to PA for a visit? ;)

This isn't getting me moving here. I need to throw some laundry in the washer and get a couple of things done inside. Since it's Sunday, I'll wait until the 2 churches let out before I fire up the blower. Hope you all have a great day and travel safe if you are on the road.

Got lots of work to do today, so need to get doing it! I did rent a car for the weekend at the super-cheap weekend rate: $40 for three days and they upgraded me to a Chrysler Imperial, which I like because the seat is power for my short body.

Beautiful spot here at the locks at St. Lucie, but I need to remember to always take my camera with me. Yesterday on my way to taking the trash out, I saw two ibis--one had a small snake in his mouth and the other was following hoping the first one would drop the snake! Snake was wriggling and trying to escape but first bird had a very good grip. I did not see the rest, but I think the problem was that he would have to put it down to eat it because he was holding it in the middle of the snake. But of course if he had put it down, bird #2 would have stolen it, so he was off to find some private place to eat.

There is a marine center I might go to today since I have a car. Then maybe some quick grocery shopping.

Good morning
I was up early, too early, and ended up going back to bed. Slept another
hour and a half. Date didn't happen, he spent the day with with the
truck in the shop, serpentine belt and tensionar
There will be another time but its no big deal.
Y'all have a great day and be safe.

I loved the extra house. I'd have loved it even more of my Four-Footed Furry Friend (bet I can't say that 10 times fast!) had agreed to sleep. Wonderful sun this morning, so we'll spend at least part of the day outdoors. :D

Good morning from foggy LA.
Went to San Diego to see the kids yesterday so I was grateful for the extra hour this morning.
Turns out son-in-law & I have some things in common. He misses the gloomy/rainy fall weather of Paris. I miss the same of KS. We miss the chill in the air which causes you to pick up the pace a little when you're outside. They're going to France for Christmas & New Year's so hopefully that will give him his dose of gloominess for the year. I know going to KS in February helped me remember that cold weather isn't really that much fun. Hearing you all talk of raking leaves reminds me of the not-so-fun aspect of fall - especially since I always blew the leaves out of my gutters before any prospect of rain which made for some hectic drives home after work to get it done while there was still daylight. ugh! Really glad I don't have to worry about that anymore.
Not much else is going on - just working & taking care of the baby. She's a delight but busy, busy, busy. I've told the kids a morning preschool or daycare may be in order soon.
Today I have some 'work' work to do & then unpack some of the boxes that we finally unloaded from the van last weekend.
Hope you all stay safe - traveling or raking leaves. ha!

Catherine, just tell your son-in-law that if he does not get enough gloominess in Paris, they could move to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, aka the rain forest. I have friends there who leave every winter for a couple of months because they can't stand the constant rain!

We could use some gloomy, rainy weather for a few days. The grass is getting short for the cows. We can water the horse pen but not the pasture.

We just finished our Sunday steak. Our raggedy bbq pit is falling apart. I looked on line for one just like it and the local Lowe's store should have 3. We have both looked there and didn't see one but didn't ask. I bet if they have one they can't find it. If I wan't so lazy I would go see if they have one.

I usually don't rake leaves but have been picking up the leaves under the pecan tree so I can see the pecans. Can't you put screens over gutters to keep leaves out? I'm glad we don't have that problem. There are no trees close to the house.

One of the tires on my motorhome has a slow leak. I need to mix some soap and water and see if I can find it. It is better to know where it's leaking when I show up at the tire place.

I needed that extra hour. Some SS owners got together yesterday to welcome home the Navy nurse daughter of one of them. We had a ball! A couple came down from PA and stayed overnight in the house while I was parked in the yard. So, of course, I stayed up late! We pitched in and got the nurse's daughter 2 or 3 yo a mini battery operated SS to ride in - her reaction was priceless!

Parked in WalMart, Walterboro SC tonight - Florida tomorrow!!

I'm glad to be leaving all the falling leaves behind! Too messy.

Actually JudyB, that's not a bad idea - maybe they should go visit my brother in Bellingham WA - in Feb! It'll be interesting to see how he feels about it when they return after New Year's.
Martha, there are screens & gutter guards.- I never had much luck with the screens. Screens need to be cleaned out once in a while or I'd have seedlings starting to grow. And the gutter guards were a little pricey. If I had kept the house, I probably would have eventually put on something to help out with this task - I'm just glad I don't have to mess with it anymore.
