Good Morning from sunny, hot, south Texas. It's been sundress weather for me since arriving. Yay! And I've so been enjoying the walks along the canal to see the various birds. I get so excited when I see a new one, or even when I am able to get a picture of one that has kept being picture shy. Funny ... all the years of getting pictures of Great Blue Heron's - here the one(s?) I'm seeing are shy and disappear as quick as I find them. Still no pics that count of one.

Today I think I'll do at least one more blog post. That's why I'm on my computer, not phone - so I'll get to it.

Everyone have a great day.

It's a drizzly wet day here in northern California! High only in 60's but clearing tomorrow they say. Hope so because I bought candy for the little ones and sure don't want to have to eat it. LOL trip tomorrow to see the head honcho at UCD ENT as he is studying ways to use balloon open a scarred eustachion tube. We hope he can help Mel's hearing. Hopefully home before crazies hit the road here. Can't believe it's almost November!! This rain is sure nice. Have a good week all.

Good Afternoon - well, not really because Seahawks just lost.

This was moving day back to Gloucester, VA until Saturday. I was on the road several miles when I realized I may have forgotten to put the cover plate back on the generator and close the compartment door. Yep. Cover plate is gone off the back bumper. Had to use the inflator on the trailer air springs since I'm waiting on new compressor this week. Oh well. I did see some of the prettiest colors so far around here.

CArol, thanks for letting me know the parking spot is open and working! :) If I hadn't committed to Florida toy run the 12th, I would be in Murphy. Several SS coming to Murphy to ride that weekend. Velda, interesting about the balloon to open the eustachion tube. Lyn, thank you for your comments about the photo of my grandchildren on the 'photo' thread. Beth, I've just been thinking that I have missed birds and wildlife of late though very grateful not to have had to dodge a deer on the road. Donna, it will be interesting to see what decision you make about where to live/park.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

I'm always looking at parks I could want stay at, at least seasonally. That said twice now I've seen people run into problems who purchased park models. Both similar cases... the park changes ownership, annual rates go up and the new owners aren't people they could deal with. Because they owned the park model, both times they were stuck paying the new rates until they could sell. In both cases large numbers of people put theirs for sale also. Both took losses, one a big loss. Now, in most cases park models you can't move. One way around this is to purchase a tt or 5th wheel. in the same situation, when your lease is up, you can have someone move it for you. Or use your mh ... Just something to think about.

Hot here in south Texas this week. Trying to get my walks in early and late.

Happy Halloween everyone.

Beth, that's exactly what is happening at our winter playground in Sarasota. Luckily they are keeping quite a few RV sites and adding some with larger pads and a storage barn. And with the park models you are limited to 9 months but think you can stay year round with Rv. The amenities are fantastic.

It has been quite a few decades, but I know that sometimes mobile home parks even make it really hard to sell a mobile home or park unit--like preventing advertising and even making it hard for someone to come in to look at it. And I knew of some also that made you remove anything over a certain number of years so that it was not sellable. And they are not easy to move, plus being expensive to move, if you can move them at all, so you might end up being stuck with trying to sell something in a place no one wants to live!

At least with a trailer, you can pick up and move if you don't like the neighbors or the neighborhood! Even if you can't pull it yourself, you can certainly get someone to pull it a lot cheaper.

Way back when I was first married, I remember having to sell a house partly because of horrible neighbors who were not only noisy, but whose older kids were nasty to my toddler. I like having a home on wheels.

We bought a mobil home in a park for our younger son probably about 15 years ago. They wouldn't approve renting a lot to him but they approved me. Things were ok for a few years and then the problems started. The owners were hard to deal with and always complaining about something. Our lot was on a curve and people, the garbage truck and mobil home movers were alway making ruts in the grass. The owners thought we should fix them. We had quite a few instances of domestic abuse with police showing up and problems with kids. Any time I complained about the kids the owners would tell me to call the police. I wasn't calling the police, the little hellions would have burned our trailer down. Eventually because people were moving out they made the people with the kids move. You wouldn't have problems with the kids in a 55+ park but you never know about the neighbors. In the beginning the rent was only raised every few years. Then they started raising it every year and the last few years it was twice a year. I was so glad to get out of that place last year.

A few years ago I went to a GTG in South Texas at a large campground/resort. It was off season so we were able to have a GTG there but I don't think we could have gotten in there during the season. This place was huge. During the season there were all kinds of things going on. Most of the lots had the park model trailers that stayed all year and some had add on's. I noticed quite a few sales lots that were selling used park models. I would think that in the off season in resort areas there are good deals on park model trailers.
