Last Tuesday of Oct

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Tuesday of Oct

Gmorning all :)

Barbie, good luck at your first day of work! You'll get through your first day jitters just fine, I'm sure:) Velda, glad to hear you had a wonderful reunion weekend--nice that some of the "old places" are still around. Always makes "going back" a real trip into the past:)

We're in a cold spell here through the rest of the week. Did some outside work, but am mostly working inside. Forgot to mention that we didn't get much of a "hard freeze" last week, just a lot of rain & wind. Many of my flowers are still hanging in there:) If it's not too windy today, I'll bundle up & try some more yard work. I have only one maple tree, & it has yet to drop many leaves, so haven't had to rake yet. Grass could use one more good mowing, & then just wait for snow. Yikes, did I say snow?

Did a partial self-winterization of HarBor yesterday--need help from bro to get the plug/anode rod out to empty water heater. Also taking him to rv dealer to have house battery cable fixed--found battery not working, & it's a corroded broken cable. Never thought to check that, but bro says I need to put it on my "list" of things to check regularly--he says to clean with vinegar at the first sign of corrosion. Simple enough, right?

Been waking far too early lately, but that's the beauty of retirement, always time for naps:)

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Carolb, I just cleaned my batteries and connections with a baking soda/water paste. Worked great.

My dentist appt went fine yesterday. Have a temporary crown. And they are doing some preventive work on another tooth to try to save it.

I'm seeing some neat birds down here. Had almost decided to extend my stay another month when I got a phone call yesterday and accepted a volunteer position at a County park in Tucson. Yay. It's right down from the desert museum in that very beautiful area. I'm excited.

Barbie, I'm always nervous at first, too. You've got this!

Yep Carolb, it's getting a bit nippy to work outside. Not bad if the sun is shining, but when the wind blows, that''s another story although when we worked at the park, it was in whatever weather there was, shortbread f heavy rain or thunderstorms. But I will work outside in 40 degree weather if there are things needing done. As to snow, well, some places are getting a mix this morning. It's cold enough to. We are supposed to have some mix tomorrow.

Beth, sounds like you are in for a fun winter, once the dentist is finished with you.

Need to get a move on here. Meeting Louise (HavingFunNow) for lunch. 90 mile drive, need to shower etc. y'all have a nice day :)

Good morning
Troubles with my car,,check engine light just when I need to get emissions.
Research says I need to replace some charcoal canister near the fuel tank.
Not cheap but not outrageous.
Have a great day

Good Morning,

Barbie, I was always a wreck the first day of a new job! Peggy, so glad your rehab is going well. Velda, a fun time you had! Did you walk in and wonder who all those old people were? That's what I did. Carolb, the battery thing is a pain! With the new Optima batteries, no worries, but I still have the SS to be checked. Beth, great place to have a volunteer job. Some day I will get back to the Desert Museum.

I have been fighting a bit of a cold since I got here last week. I did take a ride on the Blue Ridge going south - fall colors are disappointing thanks to not enough rain. I hear they are better to the north so may get there. Yesterday I went to Appomattox - we were there 15 years ago and of all the Civil War sites, the point of surrender really got to me.

Make it a great day and safe travels!

Nice and very cool here in the Tucson valley. Had to get my long sleeved shirt on this morning. The sun is out and when sitting in it I am just right! Grocery run is on my list for today first, then vacuum, mop the floors and sort laundry. That sounds a lot like work.

Need to get ready for the mule ride down the Grand Canyon in a week or so. Have to check my clothing supply and get them in a state of readiness. Getting excited for that to happen. After that I will be headed to Las Cruces to visit friends and then down to south Texas for the winter.

Beth drove by your new employment place couple of days ago on our way to and from the Desert Museum. I pointed the park out to the girls riding with me. Didn't know you would be there or we would have left you a surprise for when you get here. I will be down to see Dr. X in December with a probable crown replacement and perhaps a new one. We will keep your spot warm out here!

Be safe on the road and have fun!

How long will you be working there, Beth? It's one of my favorite places and I plan to spend a week or so there next winter. Love the price and the desert museum down the road.

SPent all day walking around Key West and came home feeling really beat, but to make it worse, I ended up with a bad case of vertigo. Had trouble even getting into bed last night. This morning is it almost as bad but I managed to return my rental car. I am having something to eat and then need to pull out and dump my tanks and drive 20 miles down the road to Long Key. Hope I manage.

Good morning! :D

It is reassuring to know I am not the only one who gets "first day" jitters! I know this job, I know the company but I still get nervous about how I will fit in.

Almost done with my blog. Here is the pic of me and Liz in Winslow, AZ...

Have a good day!

Nancy, Dr. X is looking older than my last visit. That must mean I am, too. He's still my favorite dentist I've ever gone to. And the prices I can live with.

Judy, I hope you are feeling better. I'm glad you aren't having to drive far. I'll be at Gilbert Ray until April 1st. It would be great to possibly gtg. And when you know, we can maybe suggest it to others on the gtg room.

Barbie, I've promised a bunch of people I'd get back to my blog. I spent quite a bit of time today organizing pics. It's more work when we let it go.
