Wild Las Vegas Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wild Las Vegas Wednesday

I cannot wait until this election is OVER. Turned on the local news this morning and got nothing but DEBATE - did nothing else happen in the world the last few days? Or here in town.
Have good fresh pot of mocha coffee and Mexican biscuits that we found here in town.
We been kept entertained with all the construction going on in our block A new house brought in then taken out. Another new {manufactured} house brought in and being set up right next to us and the gas company tearing up all the streets putting in new gas lines. Lots of noise and people. Today, if the gas trucks aren't in the way another new house is supposed to come in across and down from us.
Finished up a couple of my projects and don't want to start on anything else as we are getting in to "go to Mexico for winter" mode. Gathering things that will with us, setting up mail forwarding and getting enough meds to last until we get back. Also ordered Pesos from our bank on line, they were delivered yesterday. Don't know when we'll be leaving for sure. Depends on if my favorite NASCAR driver makes it to the next round of the playoffs. If he doesn't we can leave next week - if he does it will be a few weeks later.
Going out to dinner tomorrow night with our son who lives here - Bill will be 80 on Saturday so it is kind of a birthday dinner. Weather here is nice. In the mid 80s - when he wind isn't blowing.
Took a walk yesterday into the park behind us - about a quarter miles away is a really pretty area. Nice pond, lots of greenery and silence. Will post about it on the bog later. Everyone one have a wonderful day, either being productive or lazy. Be safe if your on the road. And don't stress out over the election...

I'm just getting up and ready to head up to Prescott this morning. Will wait to get on the road until rush hour is done.

Hope you all have a great day! :D

Sitting in Day Use area of Curry Hammock State Park while waiting for my site to become vacant. Should be ready any minute as checkout time is 1:00 pm. I was able to stop at the grocery store on the way here and pick up a bunch of stuff I needed. Also, going to rent a car for a week--want to do some exploring in the Keys that I can't easily do in my motorhome.

Also good news is that temps are supposed to drop a couple of degrees. That might not sound like much but it has been really hot and muggy here with almost no cool-off at night. Last night at 2:00 am, it was still 81 degrees with 90% humidity! Today's high is supposed to be 84 with a low of 75 tonight. I will take every degree I can get. :) At least I have a fantastic ocean-view site here so should have wonderful breeze. Mosquitos have been horrible, so maybe breeze will slow them down a bit also. I am getting really bit up and the cream does not seem to help, so I have been taking benedryl to help stop the itching!

I didn't know you could order foreign currency online! Interesting. Happy Birthday to Bill! Have a safe journey to Mexico and back.
Barb have fun in Prescott.
Judy is complaining about heat while I woke up this morning with cold feet after my blanket slid off! Hard to believe two weeks ago it was 100!
We are prepping to load the RV van to head out Friday for my reunion. Have a long list of places to go today but did drag
Mel shopping yesterday and actually found black dress pants, shirt and jacket I love and fit well. Even a fancy new bra that actually fits. Guess I need to give up buying cheap bras from Walmart that don't fit well! Lol
I'm off to Curves, bank, cvs, health food store and shoe store!l
Have a good day all.

I'm in Texas and it's warm, but not what you're experiencing in Florida. The problem tonight is there is a call for thunderstorms and it'll be hot if I have to shut all the windows.

I'm due to arrive at the rv park I'm staying in south Texas on Saturday. I have an appt with my Mexican dentist on Monday morning.

A big happy birthday to Bill!

I almost hate to go back East. I haven't seen a mosquito all year. Oh wait, I think I did swat one in CA when I was there last Spring.

I know it is late, but I have to warn you, Liz. The mosquitos are HORRIBLE! And I, who spent 90% of my life not reacting to mosquito bites, have been really reacting to them over the past three or so years. I get big red welts--mostly on my legs. I have started taking more Benadryl, especially at night because after I take my shower and lay in bed, the bites really start itching.

And it just finished raining hard. Temps dropped briefly down to 75, but last night the low was 79, so nothing to discourage those horrible bugs!

Got up to Prescott around 1:00 today. Stopped at Lynx Lake and did a short hike there. I paid $5 for a day pass and then saw in small print that Wednesdays are free! Oh well... The area around Lynx Lake is beautiful pine forest!

Stopped at the motel I am staying at to check in and they messed up my reservation so I got upgraded to a nicer room for the same price! It is the cutest motel!! Looks like an adobe Indian building! White with red rose bushes all around. Have rustic looking ladder in my room with an Indian blanket on it (which is on my feet right now).

Took a drive downtown to Whiskey Row and looked thru some of the shops there. Then went up to Watson Lake just before the sun was setting. Beautiful! I think that is where Beth stayed at the campground there? The round rock formations are awesome, especially with the late day sun shining on them! I then drove to Willow Creek reservoir but couldn't find a very good access point there. Only one road goes near it and not the best view. Would need to go out in a kayak to see it better.

Stopped at a Great Clips near there to get my hair cut and talked to the stylist about the area and the shop and owners. Sounds like a good location to work if I decide to move up there. I love the area and the town of Prescott so that might be a possibility in the spring!

Tomorrow I will head out early and drive up thru Jerome and into Sedona. Plan to take a trolley tour and then explore some on my own before heading home in the evening. Wish it didn't get dark so early so I could stay longer. It is dark by 6pm now. I want to be close to Phoenix by then.

Hope you all had a good day!
