Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday with the beautiful moon

Up early here for me anyway. Heading over to the set up with the dogs. Hope everyone is able to make this a good day. Get some work done if you need to but make some room for play, smile and find some laughter.

Good morning Tina and who else joins us.

Yesterday I went to Rawhide Western Town, a faux wild west town. It was fun to look around and check out the shops and see the mock gun fights. Was tempted to do the old fashioned photo but chickened out.
Then went shopping for clothes...after several stores just ended up with 2 pairs of black pants and two black tops. Hard to find plain black tops that don't have a design on them. Will have to do some more looking this week.

Apparently my dad gave the scammers all his bank info and they are helping themselves now to his money ($6000). Of course, he is saying that we are "stealing" it. He left a really nasty message for my brother about it. He left me a message the other day but I refuse to listen to it. I will be changing my phone number this week.

Ok, for today, I will be home doing laundry, hem my new pants, and doing some cleaning around here before the owners get home tomorrow. Then a meeting this evening at the shop.

Haven't heard how bad the storms in the NW have been but hope everyone there is high and dry!

Have a good one! :D

We woke up to big thunder this morning. Ordinarily, Drew hides under my legs when the thunder is bad, but that's hard to do when I'm in bed! Poor guy! He felt better when he was in bed with me, hiding his head under my arm.

I was going to take a walk on the old bridge today here at Bahia Honda, but I twisted my knee yesterday. No swelling, but if I move it the wrong way, it really hurts. I will try the bridge later today. Tomorrow I was planning on going out to get a new seat for my bike, and maybe even go to Ft Zachary Taylor on Key West, but we will see. Been sitting around for last few days, so now that I am ready to get out, this knee is causing me problems. It has been replaced, and I know the prosthesis is fine, just soft tissue problem.

Still really hot and muggy here, with hot nights as well. SUpposed to cool down a bit by end of next week.

Good morning everyone,
Barbie, sorry to hear about the scammers & the situation your dad has put himself in - especially since he is accusing you & your brothers of taking his money. So sad. You know you did your best to try to stop that craziness, but there are limits to what you could do. Starting work will be good - you'll be meeting new friends & be able to establish your new life.
Glad to hear that you're allowing yourself some breaks, Donna. Sometimes you just need some diversions. As you move thru all of this, your next step may become more & more obvious. Allow yourself to follow your heart... :)
Thanks for the reminder to play a bit, Tina. I needed that - maybe a drive to the beach is in order today.
JudyB, you inspire me to get out & about too. Hope the knee feels better soon.
Take care & enjoy the day!

Good morning
Catching up on chores today since I ignored them yesterday,
and tomorrow its back to work. I'm a little amazed actually
at what items I've been able to get rid of in here. I got rid of
the 3 drawer sterilite dresser in the hallway. Now I have two
of those empty sets in the shed as well as a bunch more empty
tubs. I am slowly getting rid of the larger tubs, knowing they
won't fit in any storage bay, keeping the smaller ones for now.
I noticed yesterday the sign got put up on the corner advertising
a local Pow Wow coming up down the street. Beth, Sparkle and I
went many years ago. If anyone is coming through in a few weeks
the weekend of 5 & 6 of Nov, the Pow Wow would be fun. I loved
the costumes and dance. Tribes from all over compete in the
competition. Also, if your rig is small enough (26 or less) I have
space in camp driveway.
Nothing else on my mind. Y'all have a great day, be safe.

Donna, a big life change is scary for sure, but sometimes you just gotta feel the fear and do it anyways, like I did. I still get nervous and anxious about it but I just take a deep breath and take one day at a time.

Judy, get one of those soft knee braces at a drug store. I use those to support my bad knee especially if I start having pain. It really does help a lot keeping the ligaments supported.

Ava, if I have one of those days off, I would love to go to a Pow Wow!

I just paid $25 for my prescription at Walgreens (no insurance), and then found out I can get it at a health food store across the street for only $3.99! Will transfer my prescription there next month!

Lola is acting goofy right now! I was wondering what got into her but then I just realized I put catnip in her new cardboard scratcher that I got this morning.

Gonne read for a bit and then start in on getting things done around here. I set my alarm for 3pm today so I don't forget about the work meeting at 4. That wouldn't be good!

Alice, I wish I were there for the Pow Wow. We saw one in Thunder Bay, Canada, about 40 years ago, and I still remember it. The other great thing that happens at the Heard Museum every year and that I got to see this past winter is the International Hoop Dancing Contest. Hope to make it there in 2018.

I missed the under-6 hoop dancing contest, but I did see the winner. One neat thing they did for the little kids is they let them all dance and then divided up the prize money evenly among them! So they all got to win. :D

The hoop dancing would be so cool to see! Seen videos of it and it is amazing!

Oh, Barbie, if you can, go to that Pow Wow with Ava. It was wonderful. Thanks for the memories, Ava.
