Good Morning Donna. Glad to hear that all is well at your dad' s hose. Be careful driving back as there is a lot of debris and downed power lines. Am hoping Soos didn't have any damage at her house and am waiting for word from friends down in Jupiter. And also wondering how Lori and Doc fared as they evacuated farther inland in GA, but their 5ers are left behind.

It's cloudy and cool here in the north here this weekend. Supposed to have lake effect rain showers on and off today. I will probably putter around in the house. Should do some cleaning. Have a pile of boxes needing unpacking in basement and some painting to do in the cupboards in my craft room. The State Park where I worked, has their Halloweenfest this weekend, so might wander over there.

Alice, glad to hear you are feeling better. Getting rested is the best medicine. I'm sure anxiety between getting ready to retire and the uncertainty that goes with it as well as the excitement of it, plays havoc on one's body. We all hope our plans will work out. Hope everyone else has a good day today and a good weekend.

Good morning
I did see on FB that Lori and Doc are without power but are safe.
She didn't say anything about the fifth wheel though. Still waiting
on word there. Glad Donna's house is spared, but all of this is not
over yet as hurricane Nicole mixes with Matthew it could push
it back into land and cause even more damage. Its a waiting game.
Chores for today include yard work and house cleaning. Barbie
arrived in town, so will be prepping for that too. She's going to
store her little trailer here until a decision is made on it, according
to measurements it should fit in front of fifth wheel. If it doesn't
will have to push it into the back yard. Have to leave camp driveway
accessible :-)
Also need to get to the store for groceries. Got the bread machine
out from storage bay and before I get rid of it,,,gonna use it cause
I almost want to keep it. Have seen recipes where you can use it
for other things. Its experiment time.
Ok, I got nothing else, y'all have a good day, be safe.
Barbie, call me whenever and I'll text you my address.
Somewhere with Ava and Maggie

Thank you to those reporting in on our posters in the wake of Matthew! Been concerned for them all, and TV is not that reliable with the news. Lyn

Thanks Ava for posting about Lori and Doc. I was so worried about them as Darien is on the ocean. Hope their 5thers are okay. Donna, happy to hear that your house made it through the storm. Anybody heard about Soos? We all worry about each other. That's what friends do. Enjoy today. Peggy

Planned to sleep in but woke up at 7:15. Could see a thunderstorm off in the distance but looks like it is moving away from here. Lola is under the bed and refuses to come out this morning! Luckily, she doesn't need to today. She did come up last night and sleep with me and she is eating, drinking and using the litter box.

Will hang out in bed for awhile longer and then contact Ava and drop off my little trailer there sometime today. Nice to not have to drive too far today! No other plans than to just relax today. :D Oh, I probably should stop at a grocery store too and get some food! I only had one meal each day on the way out here. Too stressed to eat much on the road so I think I lost a few pounds.

Glad everyone here on the east coast is doing well. Donna, glad your dad's house came thru unscathed! What a relief that must be for you! One less thing to deal with.

Hope you all have a great day! :D

Good morning! Good news from our southern members. Donna, saw photo of your Dad's house! Wow, looks just like a normal day!! Just glad everyone is safe. I was wondering about Mickie and hoping they are okay. Barbie, just saw your post. Glad you made it and have a few days to get settled! How is your new home?

Cool and rainy here today. I managed to get outside yesterday and got some stuff done out there. I decided to turn Lola around since I have to drive on the grass. Better to do it before it got soaked! At one point when I was under the tree in the driveway I heard a cracking sound and thought I had hurt Lola! Turns out it apparently was a low hanging branch but after crawling up on the roof, no damage on the rv! Whew, a relief! So got out my long branch cutter and managed to get some of the branches cut. Still more to do but not safe by myself. FIgured I'd butter up young son so took some brownies and seafood casserole into work for him! Not sure if it'll work but figured it was worth a try! :D And besides, I don't need to eat all the brownies and won't have to eat the casserole for the next week! Will I ever learn to cook for one?!

I need to get back to my project in the kitchen, washing down walls, cleaning the shelf that runs along the top of my cupboards and taking down and cleaning all the storage jars. Love it when they are all clean and sparkly! Have a good day and be safe!

For those not on FB, this was my post on there last night...

"Had an awesome drive thru the mountains today! Wow! So gorgeous with tall pine tree forest and the oak trees are turning color already too. Stopped in the little town of Pine and stopped at a cute little cabin/store there. The owner is from Ely, MN!
Loved the town of Payson. I could see me living there someday.

Lots more mountains to climb after that before arriving in Phoenix. Took about an hour to unload my Jeep and trailer. Was exhausted but Veronica, the home owner, invited me out for something to eat at a mexican restaurant nearby. We have really hit it off so far and have a ton of stuff in common! She is very nice and interesting! Her hubby is nice too but very quiet which is fine with me. The animals are also very nice. They have 4 cats, 3 very well behaved dogs, a beautiful little parrot and the sweetest little ferret! All those animals and no animal smell in the house! Lola and I are getting settled into our new room. Am surrounded by boxes but will get stuff put away over the next week or so. I haven't even had time to check out the pool or lake yet! Tomorrow...
Lola and I will be sleeping in tomorrow! So glad to be off the road finally! Had a lot of fun and saw a lot of cool stuff but glad to be in a more permanent spot now."

Sunny here in CA too.
Good morning all.
Donna, glad to know your dad's house is ok - but do be careful when you head back in. Hope we continue to get good reports from everyone in Matthew's path.
Barbie, glad you made it to your destination safely. Now to unpack & settle in - sounds like you have alot in common with the home owners. Enjoy your new start!
OSharon, that's how I get things done too - make brownies or fried chicken for my boys. :) it doesn't always work, but I know they enjoy a treat once in a while. Now just need to have my son out here gather a couple of friends to unload my van - I brought back barbeque sauce from Kansas City for them.
Ava, I did the same thing as I was clearing out stuff - one final use before I let some of it go. Still have some stuff in the van I probably need to get rid of once I get it all out & see what kind of space I have for everything.
Beth, nice to hear that you're back on the road.
JudyB, sounds like you made a wise decision on where to go to avoid Matthew.
Anita, hope Matthew doesn't ruin your Christmas plans.
Peggy, always good to see you pop in. :)

Tough day yesterday, baby only took a 1-hour nap, work was crazy, Sadie was more needy than usual & I was tired. Thank goodness its the weekend so I can catch up a little. House is supposed to close on Tuesday - keeping my fingers crossed.

Be safe out there!
Take care,
Catherine

The good news...dropped my trailer off at Ava's today and spent some time chatting with her. Will be fun to go out and explore different places around here with her. Then went shopping for some food and my own bedding and curtains for my room. Their curtains and bedding were so dark and drab, so I got some that are light gray and yellow patterns. Really brightens the room up!

The bad news...found out that a former coworker/friend died a couple days ago under suspicious circumstances (ie: possibly murdered). I always felt bad for her because she let people take advantage of her and had men in her life who were very abusive. I tried to tell her she needed to get away from those kind of people and find new friends who were nicer to her. She had an ex-boyfriend who use to beat her and she was still hanging around with him. I hadn't talked to her for awhile but just saw her in town about 3 weeks ago. She was so sweet but just so vulnerable with very little self-esteem. Makes me sad and angry that someone did something like this to her.

(her abusive ex-boyfriend moved into that drug house I moved into just after moving back to MN from California. I got out of there within a couple weeks when I realized what was going on there. He moved in just after I moved out.)
