Good morning
Hoping all the forum sisters are safe from the storm.
Its hard to imagine what Florida, Georgia and S Carolina
are going through right now as I sit here in the calm of
Arizona.
One last day to get through and I'll be off for fall break
all next week.
Y'all have a great day, be safe.

Ave, you didn't say anything but I hope you are feeling better. Remember the idea of retirement works best if you are healthy and can enjoy the possibilities! Don't take un-necessary chances. We all need to listen to our bodies.

Made it safely back to the driveway last night and am starting to work on the list of errands and "to dos" that have collected while I was off camping. On another note this morning I thought I would pass on the post my cousin's daughter made this morning sharing her conversation with her daughter.

C asked when she can go to the eye doctor again. I asked her if she was having trouble with her eyes and she says, "Mommy, every time I get sad my eyes get watery. Every.time. When that happens it also gets pretty blurry"

Good Morning Everyone !! On my IPad and signal comes and goes in these Mountains but will try a check in from here. All is ok here, still dealing with all sorts of problems but they're getting seen too. I'm still tossing, wow, I think each time I leave it multiplies. I can't believe after all I've sorted and thrown or donated there is still so much in here. I have one room totally cleaned out and not just moved to another, stuffs out !!

Have been concerned about the hurricane, family and friends down there. It's beautiful up here, so hard to believe weather so terrible several hundred miles away.

Ava, you sounded relieved when mentioning your free week. Enjoy, hope something fun is planned !! Ok, need to see if this will post. I miss a lot on here but do see some of the post. Actually, having laptop off, I'm really getting more work done

Stay safe all, enjoy your day,

Tina, I'm feeling better, just needed to sleep and get
some real rest. But I am in the process of getting health
precautions sorted out.

Brrr, right around freezing here at the moment. I lost an hour, so while my body says it's 7:30 am, the clock says 8:30. My weather app says it won't hit 40 degrees until 10 or later. Hmmmm. It's only 2-3 hours to drive to Pat's now... just might stay in bed awhile longer.

It does feel good to be back on the road.

A room done ... CArol, that's real progress.

Good Morning!

Going through one of those sleep challenged phases - up from 2 to 5 a.m. :( Not a big deal when I'm on my own schedule.

CArol, glad to see your post! Progress indeed! Alice, extra days off should help time go faster?? Tina, glad you are safely home. Remember Art Linkletter and 'Kids Say the Darndest Things'? Maybe that's before your time, but Grandmom and I loved to watch that when she would come visit. Beth, looking at the weather map, I thought you were probably a little chilled.

Matthew may change my Christmas and New Year's plans due to the location of two State Parks I have reservations at. So concerned about family and friends down there - especially those who chose not to evacuate.

Great progress yesterday as I cleaned out the truck - have the front passenger side to do yet, but humidity did me in.

Make it a great day and be safe!

Am safe in good weather in COE park on Seminole Lake, just north of Florida border into Georgia on Panhandle. After finding out my reservations for Friday and Saturday were cancelled in Lake City because of hurricane, I had to move to a walk-in site I can keep throughout the weekend. Not as nice a view of lake, but have power and satellite image so we can watch TV news and track hurricane.

I heard from some relatives and all are well. (I have five cousins living in Florida, some close to the coast.) Glad to hear no damage to their homes and all are safe.

I hope everyone else in RVs got out. Even on west coast, winds were 35-40 MPH which would be more rocking and rolling than I would like in my motorhome! I am very glad I decided NOT to try for a west coast campground and headed north and west into the panhandle instead. Good weather here and mild winds. We are going out for groceries today so I will dump tanks and also refill gas tank. I have half a tank but want to make sure I have enough to make it as far east as I want when hurricane is over. Might still be gas shortages. Also will take full tank of water. My friend has a flight out of Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon, but might end up being Sunday. Will see, but in meantime are comfortable and safe.

Good morning all. Wow, been watching TWC and it sure isn't good down south. Glad Judy and Donna are safely away from all the action. Interesting that even the parks on the panhandle are shut down. Would think they would be open for people to evacuate to. I finally got word that a friend of mine from Jacksonville is in Louisiana right now on vacation and said they were going to try to head back tomorrow. At least their plan right now!

Alice, glad you got some rest and are feeling better. CArol, good job! Maybe that's what I need to do, take one room at a time! Beth, good news that you on the road and enjoying it! I spent some time yesterday working on Lola, checked tire pressure, fluid levels and draining the water tank. I was going to go get gas since I had 30 cents off a gallon but tank is full! That's right, I did stop and fill her after my last trip! So since son was here I gave him my card to fill his tank before we went to soccer game. Had to use them by Sat and even my car didn't need gas! He and I went to middle school game since DIL was in another location for jv and varsity games with my other GS. She texted me and said job game wouldn't even start until about 8:30 so they probably didn't get home until about 11. And they talk about how kids need sleep. Luckily they are almost done with the season!

Well, enough rambling! Need to get this day started. Did I mention I'm not a morning person!? No matter what time I get up I just don't get going until noontime! :D But as Anita just said, it's okay, I'm on my own schedule! Travel safe and have a good day!

Well Lola and I had a discussion this morning and decided to head to Phoenix today instead of tomorrow. We are both tired of being on the road. So we will leave Winslow this morning and go down thru Pine and Payson and should be in Chandler by 2 or 3 this afternoon! Whew! What a long week!

Met up with Liz last night and we went and hung out on the "corner in Winslow Arizona. What a fine sight to see!..." Took some pics and then she bought me dinner. Thanks again Liz! We had a nice conversation, very sweet lady!

Now, I can take time to unpack, relax, get some good sleep, and settle in! Beth is anxious to get ON the road and I am anxious to get OFF the road!

Hope you all have a safe and fun day! :D

Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I finally got signed into the forum. I always have trouble when I'm on the road. My son put a new operating system on my old computer that I travel with and I hate it. It always gives me trouble.

I am at a Getaway Gal rally in East Texas. There aren't as many women as they usually have and I only know about 5 that are here. Not much going on today. It is hot and pretty windy. There must be a train track behind the campground. The train blew it's horn at 4:30 and several times after that. Woke me up every time. One of Harold's doctors called at 8:00 to confirm his appointment so I finally got up. Tonight we are going to some kind of show.

Barbie, I'm glad you can have a discussion with Lola. lol Sounds like she figured out the routine. In the morning she is going to put me in that darn kennel so I'm going to hide. There is a half grown cat that roams around the campground. Last night she was going from group to group that was setting out and taking turns sitting with everyone that would let her. She got in my motorhome this morning and looked around. The woman on one side of me must have a cat. She just lets it loose and it stays under her car. I don't think I would do that.

I have been watching the storm on the weather channel. Doesn't look as bad as it could have been but it's not over yet. I don't know why they had to close all the state parks. Louisiana had to close several parks after all the flooding but they didn't close all of them. Leave it to the government to do something stupid. This storm might change a lot of people's plans for the winter. If the snowbirds go somewhere else that will affect Florida's income.

Guess I'll go wander around and see what is going on.
