Up Early Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Up Early Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Oct 03, 2016 4:23 am

Morning,

Bright eyed and bushy tailed here. At 5 a.m. :o Will probably go back to sleep, but at least wanted to get some coffee going. Think there will be eggs and sausage later on, at a more reasonable hour.

Been working in garage last couple days, getting it all organized, hanging some fluorescent light fixtures etc.. Today will finish it up this morning, after I take my trailer in for winterizing. Then plan to tackle the shed. Nice mild weather pattern moving in too they say. Fall color is slow this year, about 2 weeks behind, but from what I have seen, looks like it's going to be great this year.

Barb, sounds like you are enjoying the trip south. Lola is probably tired of being confined all day, or how many hours you are on the road. Cheryl, hope you have a great week at Buckhorn. Tina, enjoy your visit with. BJ. Donna, glad you are starting to see some results of your labors. Hope the rest of you have a Nice day today. Back under the covers for me

Gmorning Sue & all to follow:)

Me too! Up since 4, catching up on all things cyperspace! Dang Sue, how about a trip to central NY? I have plenty of fall projects that would be easier & more enjoyable with your help ;) And projects are what I have planned for today, having returned from my "overnight" trip which ended up being three nights. Was in MA, so decided to make it a spontaneous leaf-peeper trip. That took me to the top of Lake Champlain via the VT side, then down the other side in NY. Trees were not at "peak," but absolutely bursting here & there with magnificent colors! Great memories of our trip, Anita:)

Barbie, so happy you got on the road to your new life:) Speaking of new life, Alice, which Monday is this in your countdown?

Beth, sorry about your friend...yes, thanks for the reminder. So I'll take this opportunity to tell all of you, my forum family, that you're very special to me, & I'm thankful that I know I have a "home" anywhere on the road with any one of you...& y'all are welcome at my home any time you're passing through NY!

Y'all have a great day! 8-)

Good Morning,

I woke early but went back to sleep - a night of bad dreams along with tossing and turning. :x No rain yesterday so I was able to do some outside things and go get a haircut! :D Rain did stop long enough Saturday for me to meet with SS couple from Virginia Beach for lunch. Great restaurant they knew about not far from me - seafood crepes!

Beth, so sorry to hear of your friend's passing. I find myself saying often that 'we aren't promised tomorrow' - feeling that more the older I get. Hope you got the furnace fixed. Carolb, glad you got to see some color! I understand it is later here as well, and hoping I'll catch it in a couple weeks. Sue, I wish I could have some of your energy!!

Hope you all have a great day and stay safe!

Got my motorhome mostly cleaned inside and ready for my company today. I go to pick my friend up at the airport at noon. It will be an interesting experience for this New York City lady who has never camped or stayed in an RV. The biggest problem is that she wakes up at 4:00 am each day and I wake up at more like 8-9 am!

Mostly sunny day yesterday here yesterday in Fort Clinch State Park north of Jacksonville, but I can see dark clouds in the south this morning. Will be interesting to see how Hurricane Matthew affects us. Got a full tank of gas and propane so I can head inland if necessary. Also have hidden some cash if I need it. Best thing about RVing is that we are so self-contained, however!

Slept better last night but still tired. Lola is hiding under the covers again so she knows what's coming! A shorter day on the road today so that will be better for both of us.

Ava, I sent you a PM about the trailer.

Hope you all have a good day!

Good morning,
Carol, only 10 more Mondays of work, today there is no school
so this Monday is not in that count as well as other Mondays that
have no school. Actual school days are 56 and I'm done :-)
Eye appt today and just hang out watching tv. Did get quite a
bit done over the weekend, but still need to tackle the table as
it becomes a catch all for mail. Ashamed of that, but it is what
it is. Sorted more yarn as daughter asked for all my yarn I was
getting rid of.
Mornings are really cool now, time for the robe as it was only 67
this morning when I took Maggie out. Putting the shorter shorts
away, can wear the Capri now and of course the jeans.
Off to get dressed and wait for my ride. Y'all have a great day,
be safe.

Hey Alice…the bar in our kitchen is always loaded to the gills with mail, etc and the dining room table isn’t much better! I always have good intentions of getting it straighten out but it never happens. Although I did throw away a bunch of junk catalogs this morning. My biggest mess is always the laundry room. I can wash and fold clothes but never seem to get them put away. I live out of the baskets of clean clothes plus that I hang on the hanger!

I’m sitting here waiting for a repairman to come back. Our front door has been hard to open and close since we built the house. Last night I told DH I was going to go to the lumber yard and order a new door and also have a storm door installed. Well good old Don said he’d come and check out the door and I think he’s going to get it fixed! So that only leaves me to buy a storm door…which nearly killed me when I found out that will be close to $500.! Want to get it all done before snow flies…and speaking of flies…my house is full of them right now because the door has been wide open while he’s been working on the jamb.

Barb, the house you’re going to live in looks very nice. Martha…just saw this recipe on FB. http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/pan- ... DetailPage Maybe it would work for your potluck. Bet it would work in a crockpot.

Better go. Have to discuss some things with the handyman. Have a good day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Pat, thanks for the recipe.

In our old house we had an 10' snack bar that was the catch all. Harold wanted to turn it into a conveyor belt with a trash can at the end. The bar we have now is only about 5' and since we don't have a table, I have to keep it reasonably clean because it's the only place to eat. Harold has exercise equipment in what should be the dining room. My office is the catch all place now. I think if I went by the burn barrel before I came in the house with the mail it would help. I sure wish we had ordered a 4 bedroom house.

Good morning all. Glad I'm not the only one. My granite kitchen island counter top is usually stacked with stuff - computer, mail, opened Amazon boxes with things that need to be returned, etc. etc.

Pat I have an Enchilada Casserole that we make with corn tortillas instead of flour and canned chili con carne w/beans (or refried beans), hamburger meat, cheddar cheese, enchilada sauce all layered like lasagne. YUMMY It's delicious and even better the next day or two. Can be frozen too. Have taken on RV trips and served with salad. Recipe passed down from a man I use to work with.

Good evening...Had my dinner at Carls Jr and ready to settle down for the night. Checked into a Motel 6 in Elk City, OK, near the Texas border. Stopped to see a lot of Rte 66 stuff today. Beautiful day weatherwise altho it got really windy in the afternoon so both hands on the steering wheel!

Lola did better today. Pretty much slept the whole way. She will meow a little whenever I slow down or turn but then go back to sleep. I have never seen an armadillo before but there are a lot of them dead on the roads down here.

There is a huge Rte 66 museum in town here that I am going to check out in the morning when they open at 9. I will leave Lola in the motel room while I do that and then come back for her just before checkout time.

Tomorrow crossing the Texas Panhandle into New Mexico and stopping in Tucumcari for the night. Lots to see and do in that town for Rte 66 stuff!

Hope you all had a good day! :D

Barbie, I love that you're taking time to see some things this trip.

My furnace and oven got fixed Saturday, so Pat gets to put up with me this Friday night.

We closed the store Sunday afternoon and the 4 of us left went out to dinner. Yum. I scheduled for Linda and I to not go in to work on inventory and be there for vendor pickups at 9am. So at 7:30 or so I was relaxing in bed intending to check here and FB, etc, when I got a text message that a vendor wondered if I could come in early. There went my lazy hour lol.

A lot was accomplished and, thank you, Linda. It's all me the next couple days, but we got so much accomplished I'm feeling confidant. Tomorrow I'll take down a ton of laundry to do while working, also. It would be nice to start off the journey with everything clean.

Safe travels to all on the road, and happy planning to those home.
