We often do Midwestern Boils (our take on New England Boils) when we're camping with a group. But we use an old cream can! Pretty sure that is where the concept of can cooker came from because cream cans are hard to come by this days. The bottom layer is usually small red potatoes with water and salt that doesn't quite cover the potatoes, followed by carrots, then a layer of sweet corn, sometimes cabbage wedges, the top layer is either fish fillets (normally Walleye) or homemade hot dogs and bologna. As you can see from the picture attached the fishermen hadn't had a good day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
