Last Saturday of August

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday - the fun begins

Postby chalet05 » Sat Aug 27, 2016 9:22 am

Good Morning from Auburn, California!

I made it! Stopped in Roseville to meet Velda and have lunch on the way. Company who does alot of SS modifications is at the local dealer so I went over there after I got checked into the hotel (had to find it first!). Met some other owners and we have a ride this morning in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Will make a run to Target after breakfast - think I'm catching a cold so time for Zicam!

Make it a great day and be safe!

Last Saturday of August

Postby Othersharon » Sat Aug 27, 2016 9:30 am

Good morning! Can't believe the month is almost gone! Seems the older I get, the faster it goes! Today is the last day of the fair so big decision today....what am I going to have for dessert tonight! Last chance, tomorrow back to not usually eating desserts! And last lazy day of just sitting around visiting, it's a big gtg! The dogs will be glad when it's over, I'm sure! They aren't used to me being gone so much. And late night playtime isn't the norm around here!

Anita, glad you made it to CA and hope you got to meet up with Velda. Sue, I so admire your energy! Your new house is really getting some tlc! Donna, glad you're getting out and enjoying your RT.

Well, need to do a couple of things around here before I take off for the day. Have a great day and week end and travel safe.

Good Morning Anita and Everyone !!! Sounds like a fun time coming up. Hope a cold is not coming on, all that wet and rainy days probably helped a cold bug along. Glad you got to meet Velda. Enjoy your trip with the other riders today !!

Not much happening here, finding more problems  Oh well everything always works out somehow !!

Got through some of my paper work that always piles up. Need to get some items written in my check book so I see how rich I am :D  I can only handle going through so much paper work at a time. I had mine and my parents, have most of theirs gone (I think). I think it multiplies when my back is turned !! :D

Hope you all have a wonderful day, filled with fun times in spite of weather. We may have a few showers they think, but we are short on rainfall here so need it, doesn't matter to me, busy in house or taking a nap :D

Take care and Please stay safe,
CArol

Going to respond to this one because it was a couple of minutes before the other. Checked in a few minutes ago and was going to start the thread myself since no one had been online.

Going to sit around this afternoon and get some work done. Then tomorrow I am off to Michigan for a few days. Not much else going on, but glad to see someone else has posted.

Good morning ladies
I know, I know, been awhile since I've posted but I've been so busy
getting all my little ducks to line up in a nice little row, its been exhausting!
Good news on that end,,,,,only 81 get up and go to work days left. Yep, you read that right,,,,,,,,I'll retire early!!!! After labor day, I will fill out the formal retirement paperwork
for,,, "drumroll",,,, JAN 17!!!!!!!
The money is the same and my insurance carries me until Jan 31, then medicare starts
Feb 1. Its a scary thought but a good decision and if by chance one of those little ducks
gets out of line, I can always cancel before that day.
Now the research begins on what to do with the fifth wheel. I'm seriously thinking of
keeping it as a home base, only in a cheaper location. Plenty of time to make that decision later. I would however have to pay a tow company to move it, that's very doable. On to the next stage!
Chores for today, laundry and yard clean up.
Y'all have a good one, be safe

Anita, have fun on your ride today! Glad you are meeting more people to have fun with!

Ava, congrats on your retirement! January 17th is my birthday so we should get together to celebrate!!

I found a great place to rent (hopefully) in Chandler, AZ but still have to speak on the phone with the owners yet and work out the details, hopefully today. Once I get a place to live finalized, then i can get working on a GC's location to work at. There are almost 20 Great Clips shops within a 20 square mile radius in Chandler alone, so lots to choose from! I decided against looking in Prescott because the shops up there all had really bad reviews. I don't want to work at a place with a lousy reputation.

Got the wiring done on my Jeep. Now I need to get the oil pan replaced before I leave. That runs about $600 so not cheap but very necessary!

Rainy and cooler today. I have the day off so will work on sorting projects. Didn't get much sleep again last night so am very tired today. My mind just keeps racing all night and I can't shut it off! Too much to think about I guess!

Hope you all have a great day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning all! Home again after a wonderful week traveling around the Olympic Peninsula. Traveled up the Hood Canal, met our eldest daughter, her husband and their 6 month old baby girl in Port Angeles, attended the Clallam County Fair and were able to park the mh behind his parents house. Next day we drove out to Cape Flattery, there's a good hike through the rain forest right out to the point and we did have light rain but it stopped and the fog lifted just before we got to the view points. The Makah have a wonderful tribal museum in Neah Bay. We camped at Neah Bay right on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We then traveled south and inland to the Hoh Rainforest inside Olympic National Park which, at night, is surely one of the quietest places on earth. Lots of hiking trails from easy to strenuous; we did a couple of easy trails. :D The next day we continued south and camped on the shore of Lake Quinault. The weather was excellent, we thought about renting kayaks but it was quite windy with whitecaps on the lake so we decided best not. Next we continued south across the Columbia back into Oregon, stayed one night in Cannon Beach and the last night at Carl G. Washburn State Park, north of Florence. Love that park because all campsites are first come first served, no reservations except for the yurts. Nice to be home, except for the 90+ degree weather here, the Lil Go Bug needs a bath and then we plan our after Labor Day trip to BC. Best wishes for a lovely day to all and safe journeys to those traveling.
Dianne

Sounds like an adventurous day for many, whether planning moves or knowing the retirement is in sight, sounds like a great day. I'm off in a bit for the Costco run and the temps have lowered so that won't be miserable in heat. Yay!
Wishing a fun day to all and espa safe ride for Anita!

Not much going on here, still just watching the weather. I'm glad we don't have to pay for the weather channel by the hour. It has been raining off and on all morning, like we need more rain. At least the temperature is only 81.

I was digging in the freezer trying to find a steak for tomorrow. I was afraid I was going to have to go to town but finally found one. Found a few things I could throw away.

Anita, have fun on your ride. It is probably more fun traveling with a group especially in the mountains. Are you going to have to travel back across the country to get your RV?

Good luck to Tina at the dog show.

Audrey wants to let you know she was the best girl there (Best of Opposite Sex), unfortunately one of the male specials went Best of Breed. I do feel better knowing that she now has enough hair, not a lot, but enough, to be really looked at. Two of today's male specials are in the top five of the breed. She is special but not that special. :) Since I had gotten up at 5:30 this morning I on;y drove part way back to Ohio and will finish the drive tomorrow. Since the "show" is over for the weekend, Josef, Remi and Audrey are now just hanging out chewing bones and practicing their camping skills. Since enough of the other entered dogs showed up, I didn't have to scramble and find a handler for Josef. He got to get pretty and then wait in his crate. Audrey isn't entered in any of the 5 Lexington Shows, so he gets to be only show dog next weekend......as long as they all get their long walks in the park.....
