I hope to be parked late Friday afternoon at the Kane County Fairgrounds. I didn't make a reservation but I haven't been to a show that didn't still accept RV that showed up the day before. We are showing at the Elgin Dog Show in St Charles, Il. Since the dogs are only entered on Sat and the fairground prices are higher than usual I will probably leave after showing on Sat. Our ring time is 9:30 on Saturday morning in ring 1...... Only if we are really, really lucky will we get a chance to represent the breed in the Sporting Group early in the afternoon. But Audrey reminds me that on any given day......it can happen. :)

She would love to be an attractive nuisance to more purposeful accomplishments! As you can tell it works for me or I wouldn't be here in Illinois!

Audrey says, "Thank you!" We are set up in the RV lineup with electric and water on asphalt.....I already took the grooming stuff inside. The large exhibition hall has AC. I always show better when I don't get over heated, never mind about the dogs. Now I will spend part of the evening wandering around the ground asking if anyone knows a Jr. Handlers that might be available to help get a dog into the ring. :)

Tina - I'll play it by ear to make the show by 9:30. Might depend on how early I get a paw on the face for a wakeup call.

Thought I had already mentioned it. Then again I never really believe that my dog show adventures are all that exciting here on the forum. Audrey went Best of Opposite Sex which is very nice but she would have needed to go Best in Breed to gather up the points that she needed to finish her Grand Championship. Or to put that in perspective I put on panty hose on a very hot muggy day for nothing. :) There were enough other dogs entered and actually showed up that I didn't have to find an extra pair of hands to take Josef into the ring. He got handsome but got stayed in his crate this time once I counted that enough others had shown up. Two of the male Specials were ranked in the top 5 English Cockers......so though, Miss Audrey is a special, she is not that "special"! She will just need to keep guessing which shows have enough entries to allow her to finish up her title, sigh...... Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky are considered Division Six on the points Schedule. (How many bitch entries are needed in order to earn a Major.) It takes a win over 7  girls in this area in order to earn a 3 point major. If not enough girls show up in order to win as Best of Op as was the case Saturday she needs to get her numbers by going over both the male and female entries. Shows in any of the other state/divisions only require 5 bitches..... When Daisy and Audrey were both out trying to finish their Championships several of us that are Owner Handlers (rather than Professional Handlers) would work together to be sure that we had enough entries so that someone could go home with what they needed. This year we don't have enough class dogs or bitches to build a major on our own....so it is like leaps of faith sending entries in and waiting to see how many others that you may or may not know are also entering....and how many of them are the top dogs that are out on the show circuit being Specialed.....

Saturday's judge had really liked her on to previous occasions so until I saw who the "Specials" were Saturday morning the total numbers made it look at least possible. Labor Day in Lexington, Josef is the only one. So I will get to see what he can do up against probably some of those same specials. :) And after the shows each day back at the campground, I will walk them all and tell them they are camping.......

Oh Tina, they should have handed you a trophy for donning the panty hose !!!! :o . Thank goodness I have not had to wear those things for years now, did for years and years and have a pair somewhere just in case but hopefully never need them   (probably be rotten if that "just in case" time ever comes up  :D )

And yes we are interested in what those beautiful pups you have do . I don't understand the shows all that much but like to know if they got points they needed or ribbon etc. In other words very interested in how well they do and you too. I think its very sweet that you tell them they are just camping, that way their self esteem stays in tack ;)

Isn't that part of the reason we appreciate our dogs so much. They remind up the priorities of good living. Regular meals and fun "walkies" with good "sniffies".....life is good!

feeling sad I guess...last night my cousin sent me a message about her sister...
she is I think 8-9 years older than me...and is going into a care center guess she has
Alzheimer's so surprised...when I saw her this spring/summer not sure when it was sure
didn't see any big changes...and she drove...guess she has gotten lost in her neighborhood a few
times part of me wonder's if they are jumping the gun to quickly but it's not me making those choices
nor do I know the whole scope of things...then this morning saw on FB that a young woman who grew up
with my daughters...husband had terminal cancer although even though it is terminal it was a better one to
have of it's type than others of it's type pancreatic feel so bad for her think her eldest is 17 perhaps...
my mom is in FL with a brother and his family visiting one of his kids and family so I went in and cleaned out the
frig and reorganized two of her freezers throwing some stuff then re-potted about 8 plants hopefully I didn't kill them
that was my day
so tired right now
