Question on being level

Question on being level

Postby Redetotry » Tue Aug 16, 2016 11:42 am

I'm going to visit a friend who lives on a fairly steep hill. I want to take Elsie but I don't know if when parking, even without the refrigerator being on, would ok. I won't have access to electric so that isn't an option.

If it isn't steep enough to roll you out of bed I would think it would be OK :)

What Marda said! Rolling out of bed is not fun and bathroom necessities can be challenging! Be safe on the road and have lots of fun!

I guess rolling out of bed would be a consideration   but I was thinking about the refrigerator and the 'refrigerant' or what ever the stuff is that will ruin, or make your fridge stop working, if you aren't level. Does that only happen if the propane is turned on? Since I'll probably be staying there after cataract surgery I will probably sleep inside my friends home.

I don't think there is a problem if the frige is not on. Should be fine when level again.

It applies when you use the fridge period.....doesn't matter if it is on propane or electric.

If the fridge ain't on, I'd only worry about rolling out of bed  Slept many a night in my semi rolling into the back wall since it was better than landing on the floor. :D

BJ, you could freeze some jugs of water and use the fridge as a cooler, for some things that aren't quite as "sensitive" to temp changes? Or if you use bags of cubes, keep them in a hard container so you don't end up with tons of water in the bottom of your fridge with no place to go!

Luckily, when my fridge went out AGAIN on this trip, I had made the decision to schlepp the Yeti cooler along - it was a life saver! Gotta keep that wine chilled!

BTW - you're gonna love the after-effects of cataract surgery!

When Harold made it to the grocery store after all the flooding he bought 6 half gallons of milk. We use about one a week so I had to put 5 in the freezer. It takes a long time for one of those to defrost. I think I will start freezing my milk when I go camping. I always travel with an ice chest that I use as a seat sometimes. I just keep water bottles and drinks in it to keep them from rolling around but have it if I ever need it.

Good ideas, I hadn't thought about using the fridge as a cooler  I will freeze a couple of gallon jugs of water.

Mitch I am looking forward to the after part of the cataract surgery, although I admit to being a total chicken about the process. ACK I don't do well with sedatives plus I'm allergic to almost all antibiotics. I don't think they would go for self hypnosis. :)

Tip: Fill the milk bottles only about 3/4 full of water when you freeze them to allow room for expansion. The gallon size will take a long time to freeze but also take a long time to melt.
