Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday

Gmorning all:)

Decided to post rather than just "lurk" this the early a.m. Why am I intimidated by trying to come up with a catchy subject line? "Monday" works just fine, and might as well mention it's the 15th! Middle of the month already :o

Martha, just horrible what's going on in LA/TX! By the news reports, I'm afraid you may be flooded now? Did you get your vehicles to higher ground? Hope you & all are safe!

Catherine, amazing! I KNOW what was in your house--can't believe you've emptied it in only 6 days ;) So you're well on your way to being a former Kansan. Been thinking about 4 yrs ago--right about this time--when I met you in FL, both of getting our Class Bs within days of each other! Can you believe it's been 4 yrs already?

Alice, report? ;)

A beautiful cool down yesterday afternoon! Slept with windows open, I even felt cold during the night. Humidity gone!!!

Finishing my second cup, so ready to start my day. Hope y'all have a great one & be safe wherever you are 8-)

Good Morning Carol and all of you who check in later. Our heat finally took a break but now we have the rain. Not as much here as some places nearby, my friend 10 miles away was unable to get out most of Saturday after 7 1/2 " of rain caused flooding across the little wooden bridge on the dead end, one lane road to her house. A road challenging in good weather as people drive way too fast so when you head up one of the several hills you have no idea if someone will crash into you at the top. I had a terrifying experience with a Fed-Ex truck one day. I hope everyone is safe, I hope Martha is still ok.

I heard a great story at dinner with friends last night. A mutual friend who lives on a farm has been feeding the wild critters. Every evening she loads up her 4 wheeler with food and treats then heads to one of the barns. She is soon followed by her wide variety of fans. A little raccoon after a few visits, started bringing a little gift for her. Before he accepts his food, he puts his gift on a little table, then he takes his food. She took a picture of him placing a little piece of tile down and then accepting his treat. So far he has brought a little bowl that had gone missing from near the house, little rocks, sticks and the tile. She posted a really cute picture on FB but I wasn't able to share from the page.

Looks like we have another full day of rain but hopefully it will be light. I haven't heard the sump pump yet, hoping that doesn't mean it isn't working like my washer....Don't ever brag on your old appliances!!

Good morning to all. Bill just went to pick up the RV - only a block walk away in storage. When it gets here we'll be BUSY trying to get as much done as possible before it hits 111 degrees out. If we just get everything in there - we can put things away later as the AC works really well. We will be going - are we crazy - south to Arizona. As hot there as it is here. Just hope the monsoons stay away if we're on the road. The only places cool are too far away or in the high altitude. Oh well. Want to make sure the dealer fixed all our little complaints and that the new awning works. And still trying to figure out where to put things so it is convenient. Like food stuffs and bathroom stuffs.
Doing last minute laundry this a.m.
Have to pick up Bills prescriptions after 3:00 today. CVS promised me they would be ready on the 12th! Someone there doesn't have any sense of responsibility. They say OK then no one does anything.
Will be interesting to be on the rod again. Hope our MiFi works okay as we'll be in a 1000 Trails campground in AZ and they never have Internet. Will write the blog while on the road.

So far we are still ok. The water has gone down in the pastures some so the water is still draining. We don't get much news from Abbeville except what's posted on Facebook. The national news media are all over by Baton Rouge and the local TV stations report about Lafayette but we don't hear much about other places. Harold drove down to see the river and it's about the same as yesterday. Today he was worried because we only have 2 cases of water so he bought 2 at the local store. Now he's headed to the feed store and Walmart. I doubt that Walmart will have much left because I don't think they can restock. The owner of the feed store just called. He lives North of Abbeville and he had to go West and then South and then back East to get to Abbeville from the South. The river is still so high that 2 of the bridges in town are still closed. Water is still over the highway going to Lafayette. We have some property about 10 miles North of Abbeville. I would really like to see what the water is like over there.

BJ, that's a cute story about the raccoon. Harold puts out cat food at the barn and what's left at night the critters finish off. Yesterday the barn cats were telling on him. He forgot to feed them and there were 5 on the back porch looking for him. All of our cats are tame except one tom cat that hangs around. I figured that since all our female cats have been fixed that he would leave but he's still here.

Guess I better get dressed in case we have to go get Harold.

Good morning everyone it is still hot and muggy here in Florida but I guess I should not complain with all the other problems people were having with flooding it's terrible we only had one rain in I think 57 days in Melbourne and we went 57 days 90 Plus did a record there too... going to take my new RT on a little road trip for a couple of days meeting up with Margie over towards the west side of the state and see what we can get into I figure as long as I don't go more than two to four hours away from my dad I can work things out and get away... I would get way more if it wasn't so hot yesterday Pheebe and I went... to the beach for Sunrise that was fun ate out at McDonald's in the beach parking lot then headed up towards Patrick Air Force Base and back over to US1 down to Wickham Park by that time it was raining so we parked over at the park waited the rain out so my girl could go out and run..she is cooped up in the bedroom in the house too much we both are today I'll be getting ready to put stuff in the RT to take I don't have anything in there... well all for now I did make a couple blog post if you want to take a look have a good one & B safe..

Good Morning!

Carolb, I think of the title of day and maybe the date as a public service announcement! I never know what day it is!

Catherine, wow! That was quite an accomplishment in just 6 days. BJ, cute story! Martha, glad to see your report - and glad I decided not to do the southern route to California! Florida SS bunch plans to travel I 10.

I made a quick grocery trip this morning. Found what appears to be a better laundromat in town so maybe tomorrow morning. It said air conditioning!! Clothes are packed.

Make it a great day and safe travels!

Such a cute story about the raccoon BJ? Critters are grateful that's for sure. Anita, must be nice to not know the day & date. Only a retiree could say that in all truthfulness. :P

In northern Indiana, headed for Ohio--Maumee Bay SP. I like that state park because none of the sites back up to other sites. They are all strung out on long roads with slight curves, so you also cannot see too many other sites--nice privacy. Will try to get a site close to laundry so I can catch up with that!!

Got some grocery shopping to do, so very, very happy to find a Meijers Thrify acres so I can get some of my favorite stuff.

Glad someone got on early today since I like reading about what everybody else is up to.

BJ, love that little raccoon story! They are such adorable little animals and very smart! I had one as a pet when I was 15 and she was so fun!

Got off work early today. Was really busy this morning but died off around 1pm and got sent home at 2:30. Made $50 in 5 hours so that wasn't bad. Saturday I was really busy with mostly my request customers coming in and made almost $20 per hour in tips alone! Wish all days were that good, but even $10 per hour in tips is really good. I have great customers!

Sunny, cooler and less humid today but going to heat up with more humidity and rain by tomorrow again. The lake is almost up to the level it was in the spring now. Never that high in August! I noticed yesterday that the little green boat that sunk last month is back at the dock. Hopefully they will be more careful when it rains heavy and check on it before it sinks again!

If I don't end up moving by the end of October, I might do that GTG in Wisconsin. Will see...

Hope those in the south stay high and dry and those out east stay cool!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
