Wednesday and Comfty in Michigan

Morning all,

Sun is rising, can tell days are getting shorter as sunrise is later. In low 60's this morning, so was Comfty sleeping night. Put my box fan in the window and was like having AC on. Heading upward to around 90 today. Keep hoping the predicted rain comes to be as we are abnormally dry right now. According to local paper, the ground here is so dry, that It literally evaporates what moisture there is out of the air. So hence, what rain has come by, never happens. There's a big training exercise involving troops from some other countries and ours at the big military complex up here and they accidently set off a 1900 acre brush fire on Monday, on the range that's about 10 miles from here. Got a little smokey here for awhile, but no threat to anything or anybody. Under control now, wasn't much wind either. Happens once in awhile.

Don't get any cherries yesterday. Season is done for the black sweet cherries. Ripening too fast and lack of moisture making them too soft. Did get 5 lbs. of. Blueberries though. Will be putting them in the freezer this morning. And Habitat store was closed yesterday, so no luck there. But talking to a worker, he said no base cabinets anyway.

Nothing much on agenda here today. Sanding down some drywall areas I had to spackle and maybe set up the spare bed finally. Got a couple pictures to hang and need to dig out the pics from last Summer's trip as want to get some enlarged.

So guess I will start my day here. Girls are snoozing, time for the morning nap. They woke me up, had a good play session, so are zonked again. IrishIRoamed, sent you an email. Have a good day everyone.

Gmorning Sue & all to follow

Sue, hope you get that much needed rain. We had a nice rain overnight, then again this morning. And with it, the humidity. So today is a good day for me to clean house! Something that gets neglected while I tend to all the yard work. SIL coming by today & hopefully will take some veggies off my hands

Still hot here -- I might make a run to the hardware. We sure could use some rain too. I think my garden doesn't like chlorinated water from the hose as much as it likes rain!

It's working its way to 90 here along the Mississippi. I was going to go to Dubuque to the National Mississippi RIver Museum, but decided to wait until Friday when it is supposed to cool down a little. I did go out this morning to get some cream cheese for my bagels, which I had gotten a couple of days ago. Vacuumed and did some dusting and reorganizing yesterday, so my place is fairly clean and picked up, which always makes me feel good. So, I am going to get some work on my class done today since it is not a good day to take a walk or sit outside.

Supposed to cool down as I head to Michigan and Ohio, which is good. It only dropped down to 70 here last night and my AC kept running and blowing on me!!

Sue, how does it feel to be living in a smaller house? I know you still have some things to do to get completely settled, but I just wondered how you were adapting to downsizing.

Hot and very humid here today. Only got down to the mid 80's overnight! Storms moving in tonight and tomorrow and then a cool down for the weekend! Yay!

Doing some cleaning out and organizing of my bathroom stuff this morning. Working later on.
