Sunday, day of rest!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday, day of rest!

Postby carolb » Sun Aug 07, 2016 4:58 am

Gmorning all:)

Been a busy week for me, helping cousin with yard sale prep, then sitting with her the past two days for the sale. A few more hours there this a.m., then maybe some rest for me. Except my house & yard have been totally neglected all week, so need to start on some of that. No rest for the weary???

That being said, I need to tend to some laundry that I started earlier this a.m., catch up on some other email, then be on my way!

Hope all is well with y'all, have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good morning all! Looks like another beautiful day here. Sadly no rain to speak of, wish we could balance the storms out to spread all over! Not sure what I'm going to do today. Was going to try to meet up with a friend in Bedford where she's camping but haven't heard back from her yet so don't know how long she'll be there today. Since she's working during the week she's just there on the week end.

SIL left Friday evening for MA. They were going to stay overnight here and leave Saturday a.m. but her daughter wanted to get home due to a situation with her BIL so got a phone call saying they were on their way out of town, Kinda bummed that I didn't get to see them before they left but what can you do. So much for family connections! At least I got some housework caught up and changed the sheets on the beds! The upside!

Carolb, did you get your new wardrobe with your cousin's yard sale? I can see you coming home today and mowing your yard! Been enjoying everyone's tales and pics of trips. Anita, when does your SS journey begin? Sue, sounds like you are staying busy with your new place. You can come here when you're done, I have a whole list of things to tick off my list! :D

Well, coffee is finished so best get this day moving. Hope everyone has a good day and travel safe!

Good morning, all! Going to be a lazy day. I am at a KOA on a weekend--horrors! Actually, though crowded, it has been fairly quiet, but today is Sunday so I get to watch everyone leave.

Went shopping yesterday and got myself a couple pair of shorts. I have quite a few pairs, but because I wear shorts almost every single day year-round, they get faded and worn-looking fast. So nice to get some new ones on sale at the end of the season. Also, found a rolling backpack for my new laptop. I used to use a regular small backpack, but this new laptop is a 15" to help my poor old eyes, and it is really too heavy to carry a long time, like through airports. I think I will cut the backpack straps off of this one because I cannot possibly imagine ever not wanting to just roll it. Now I have to find a space to put it.

Remember a long time ago, I had to clean everything out of one of my underneath storage area because of smelly mold? I scrubbed everything, but it still smells in there, so I think I might have to toss more stuff, including clothing if I cannot get the rest of the smell gone. I want to put this new case in that bin, but won't for now. Might even have to toss out my really nice suitcase that is stored in there. Hate to do it, but yuck!! I did add some sealing tape around and I don't think it will leak anymore, but what a mess.

A quick Good Morning while it is still morning and before family comes to pick me up! Yesterday was a day of rest - at least from going anywhere. One niece needed a break, but they all did an afternoon outing where it was dry and I was sitting in a thunderstorm here! Quite frankly, I was ready for a break, too. This heat and humidity is tiring! Not sure if I posted we went to the water park Friday - fun! It was a cooler, cloudy day so not too crowded - nice when you are trying to keep a child in view!

I'm wondering why I didn't go through Diane's wardrobe while I was at her house! So, Carolb, how many bags of clothes did you bring home? O'Sharon, ride begins August 18 to be in California by 26th. I move to Clarksville, VA tomorrow and then begin all the preparations for the ride. Started a packing list yesterday - more electronics and chargers than clothes I think!! SS will be serviced.

Make it a great day!

It's 104 this morning. The weather channel says we have a 90% chance of rain but the radar shows it all off shore. It would cool off 20 degrees if it would rain. Not that we need more rain.

I have a friend that gets rid of clothes and shoes pretty regularly. The only problem is she wears a size larger shoe and about 10 sizes smaller clothes. I just keep wearing the same things over and over. Some of which needs to go in the trash. This morning I made an effort to find something different in my closet. I found some Ralph Lauren jean shorts I forgot I had. Ralph Lauren is my favorite brand of jeans and pants because they fit me the best.

We had a lot of bananas so I made banana bread and a mess in the kitchen. The recipe I use says to sift the flour 3 times. I don't know what was wrong with my flour sifter but I didn't think I was going to get through one time. I had flour all over the counter. I was making mashed potatoes for lunch for my grandson. I let the potatoes get cold before I whipped them and they kept trying to climb the mixer blades. I have never had them do that before.

I hear Harold in the kitchen so better go get my share going.

Good Morning! I’m about a week short of checking in on the first day of the month! I remembered to say Rabbits though! I was at Lake Poinsett for our no husbands-no kids get away and I was the first one up that morning! Six of us went and we had the best time and wonderful weather. The cabin that we had rented was awesome and right on the water with two decks, a beach and a dock. The place was completely furnished to the point we could have packed a lot lighter if we would have known. All we would have needed was our clothes and the small amount of food that we had brought for breakfasts. We eat every other meal out…that’s part of our deal every year. No cooking. I started to feel a little punk when I got home and ended up with a sinus infection so I’ve been on antibiotics and prednisone since Thursday. Starting to feel better now.

I’m dog-sitting for Missy’s Roxie this weekend. She’s such a good dog…but bigger than I’m used to. I’ve never had a dog that could counter surf! I’m learning to take precautions. She has allergies and the vet has her on three Benadryl in the am and pm. Needless to say she’s sleeping a lot! Our yard is full of squirrels and rabbits and she tries so hard to catch one.

Tomorrow is my sister and my first meeting with mom’s lawyer. Wish us luck.

Realize that I don’t post often but I always do read and enjoy all your posts. Where do some of you get all your energy? I think the heat and humidity that we’ve been having zaps every ounce of it out of me.

Safe travels and good health to all of you.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Judy, have you tried vinegar? It gets rid of a lot of odors. I once used Fabrease on a suitcase and aired it out for a while. It no longer smells.

After the hurricane we used OdoBan to get the smell out of clothes that had been flooded. Nothing else would work. I have bought it at Walmart and Sam's.
