Saturday???

At least I think it is Saturday! And I am amazed to be first here today. Where is everyone?

I am in Minneapolis this weekend visiting my nephew and his family. Went to my first hockey game yesterday--girls ages 17-19. It is part of a summer league for girls of all ages. (His younger sister played.) The big girls play as rough as anybody with lots of crashes. Unfortunately, our team lost. There is another game today and tomorrow, but I am skipping those so I can get some work done. This is a hockey-playing family with both moms playing in a women's over 50 league during the regular season. Nephew has never liked to skate, so that is not his game. He just graduated from college, and is looking for that first real job.

Got to run out to Camping World today to get a second pillow for my bathroom vent. I have the big vent covers which have screens so no bugs can get in, but the original vent cover has been slowly disintegrating, and has finally fallen apart, so cold or hot air can get in. I am going to see if they have replacement covers and can fix it on Monday, but otherwise, will probably wait for a couple of weeks until I am Ohio where I will be staying for a few weeks.

Late getting in here myself Judy. Been out prepping my porch posts and rails for painting. Don't know when they were last done, but I can see it's been awhile. Just need to do a couple minor things and time to paint.

Jdy, why not have MaxAir vents installed. I have them over my regular vents and they are great. Allow me to leave my vent covers open regardless of weather.

Cancelled reservations for next week as hot weather coming in again. The park has very little shade due to tree disease losses and sitting there in the hot sun doesn't sound appealing even with AC. Plus fur kids would not like it either. Added an extra day to my long Labor Day weekend trip and might spend some time in U.P. after that instead. Doing some thinking here.

Looks like we are going to have another hot day. It has already hit 100. It looks like I'm going to have to go to Lafayette. I manage to put it off and end up going on Saturday which is the worst day. I didn't sleep well last night between going to the bathroom and the cats waking me up. I remember telling them if they didn't stop chasing each other I was going to get up and kick their behinds.

I saw on Facebook that CArol and Donna are having a mini GTG. If it wasn't 800 miles I would join them. lol

Guess if I'm going to town I better get a move on before the afternoon rain kicks in.

Sue, I do have the MaxAir vent covers, and they do prevent rain, but there is no way now to close this one in really cold weather because the inner cover is what disintegrated. It is fine for weather now, but if I get into really hot or really cold weather, I will be losing too much heat.

I am going to just get a second pillow and stuff it in there for the meantime, but that means I would have to remove it each time I want to turn the fan on in that vent.

I switched days with a co-worker so got today off. Went to get a much needed massage this morning! Then stopped in town to check out the Dog Days, a dog festival. Now deciding what to do for the afternoon since it is so nice out! Kayak or hike in the woods?
