Tuesday.

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday.

Where is every one? We're west coast time here. I've even taken my walk already this a.m. Now is time to cool down and eat breakfast. Problem with having to walk before heat - 6:00 - is that it makes the rest of the day really long. Especially if we don't have anything planned. Coffee is on.
Laundry is started. Not much to say - walked yesterday too. Today I almost made it to 2 miles. Working up to longer walks gradually.
There is a new Ikea here in Vegas that I've been trying to talk Bill into going to. It is clear across town so he's not to keen on the idea. But at least it would give us some exercise in a cool place.
Tomorrow we take the RV in. Don't know when we'll get it back.
Take care everyone. Don't over heat.

Good morning
My last day of summer. Tomorrow is day one of 116 work days to retirement.
I never did get over to the retirement assoc but there is still time and I would rather go when its cooler. I just hate driving down into downtown Phoenix.
A few sprinkles this morning and nice temps. I am hoping the brutal heat is gone for good.
I got nothing else, y'all have a great day and be safe

Good morning! It's another cool one in the 50s outside, but will warm up to be a lovely sunny day again in the 70s. I made two reservations in Florida State Parks for December and posted in the GTG thread if anyone wants to join me. It seems to be a good time for getting a reservation. These parks fill up fast in the winter time. Thistle and I are going out for a walk as soon as I'm done here, and then I think I'll take a drive up to Mt. Bachelor without him. They have a ski-lift to the top and there's a trail up there, I think.

I was sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery, Peggy, but glad you got checked out before you had a major incident. It's good advice you have for all too. I have learned not to diagnose my own symptoms. When I took up kayaking a few years ago, I experienced intense pain in my left shoulder and arm after a short while paddling, and decided it was probably arthritis in my shoulder joint. It was later caught by Moffitt when they did a CT scan as part of my cancer checkup. They discovered a blocked artery...the left subclavian (not in the heart) and told me to see a cardiologist. Turns out I was getting very little blood flow to my left arm which wasn't noticed until I tried to use it a lot when paddling. I had a stent placed in the blocked artery and had immediate relief. So, you never know what those odd symptoms mean.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Camped for another couple of days in an extremely quiet COE campground along the Missouri River in North Dakota. Extremely quiet means I am the only person camped in my loop! I have never been here before and for $9-10 for an electric site that is paved with a great view of the river, I will certainly be back here again. I have been sleeping in--changed two time zones in last 10 days, so still adjusting, but it feels really good. And I just saw what I am pretty sure was a beaver just swim by. Too big for much of anything else.

Anyway, river is very wide here and lazy, like me. This is really a sort of lake and is called Lake Oahe, although it is also the river dammed up to form this 231 mile long lake. It says the dam at the north end creates the fourth largest reservoir in the country. The series of four long lakes goes all the way from Bismarck, ND, through the entire state of South Dakota. Low rolling hills on the other side. Several cheap COE campgrounds along it, so I will definitely be back. http://sdmissouririver.com/follow-the-r ... lake-oahe/

So today is work and a lot of TV and relaxation, which I definitely need.

Multiple waves of heavy rain here for last 4 hours. Unlike yesterday these storms have stayed below the severe criteria but lasting much longer.

Sure glad I got most of my errands done before storms hit yesterday. I did find a ceramic skillet at Wal Mart; haven't tried it yet.

Would not consider going out today except for fact that Red (Chris and Larry) will be passing thru the area and I hope to meet them for an early dinner. They were not able to get reservation for 50 amp at any of the 3 campgrounds here so they are stopping in Woodville (about a 35 minute drive from my house). Been trying to find a restaurant about half way to meet; eateries are not plentiful in that direction. They have to be in Red Bay tomorrow for some work on their rig so it will only be a quick overnight stop near me.

Way beyond morning! I am now near Quantico where niece's family has just been transferred. Her hubby is now a major and Provost Marshal at Quantico. Another niece is visiting from Washington State. Fun begins tomorrow.

Avoided I 95 so was a long, slow 160 mile drive! Had to do a blindside back - made it first try - so much easier with trailer to watch! Then wire had come loose on 30 amp plug so had to fix that - totally dripping by the time that was done!

One of the things I forgot to mention - and take photos of - is Carolb's beautiful yard! Flowers are beautiful and landscaping so well done. We had salad fresh from her garden one evening.

Have a great evening!

I'm tired. My younger son had a doctor's appointment and needed to take his car in for a recall. I told him I would go meet him in case they needed to keep the car. The service guy said they could do it in an hour and a half but it was more like 3 hours. We went to lunch and the traffic was so bad that it took us a long time to go across town. He has such a negative attitude that he makes me tired. Only getting about 3 hours sleep last night didn't help.

It started storming on my way home and I had to sit in the parking lot at the grocery store for a while waiting for the rain to slack off.

I saw on Facebook where Red said they had to go to Red Bay. I like their motorhome but don't know that I could drive one like it. Hope you can meet them for dinner, Sarah.
