Big event Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Big event Sunday

Gmorning all :)

Today, lucky you Anita! I've lived here 12 yrs now, & have never gone to an induction ceremony. Cooperstown/Baseball Hall of Fame only 30 miles from me. Fortunately, weather looks like it will cooperate for you. Look forward to seeing you Monday:)

OSharon here! Arrived Thurs evening, & we've managed to keep pretty busy if only to sit around & yak:) Humidity builds for a bit, then a brief shower & it's gone, so for the most part we've been able to sit outside & enjoy my yard. Her boys are getting with the program & have learned to run to the fence & bark when people/dogs go by. My pups are great teachers of bad behavior

Unfortunately, Peg has had to cancel her trip here. We're all a bit disappointed, but something really big came up for her that is totally understandable.

Catherine, congrats on the new condo! And absolutely DO make sure you take those necessary stops to get some walking in!!!! BJ, Sue & others, thanks for the enlightenment on corn/soybeans causing humidity--whodda thunk that!!!! Lyn, such a sad way to lose your sister:( Getting excited about your first trip in your travel trailer? I thought of you of course when Comicon was mentioned on the news the other night.

Tomorrow we meet up with Anita, so today we're taking a drive up to Thousand Islands for the afternoon. Really enjoy having my guests :D

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Mornin' Carol, Alice and all that follow ~~~

Not much going on here either. Still too hot for me, so I'm hanging in the house, but also a little house crazy right now and want to do something!

Sounds like a fun GTG getting started there in the east. And Lyn & Sue getting ready for some travels too. Wish I could get up to Sue's UP stay, but 6 hour drive for even a long weekend is a little too far, so here I sit.

Have been enjoying Liz's travels in Oregon and hope to get to all places some day. Fingers crossed.

Read in the paper today, 'they' (again ~ who is they?) are thinking about reintroducing cougars (or mountain lions, or pumas, wherever you may call them) back into our area to help cull the deer population. The thinking is since deer is a cougars main meal, it could help save 5 deaths from car accidents each year ~ or 4 if one goes and mauls a person. uh?

Have a good day ladies, stay safe on the roads, and have fun wherever you are.

Bit humid morning here, but not too bad. Huge mess of rain and storms came across the state this morning. Was hoping we would get the rain, so what happened, one part veered southeast and the other a bit north of here, so got about two drops  Got a bit sticky last night for awhile, first time during this heat wave. We have been kind of having NW breezes and I think it's kept out humidity down. Days have been rather nice except for hot sun.

Been a little busy already this morning. Washed hair, did load of wash, changed bed etc. Will probably hang more pictures today. Getting ideas for closet organization in the house here. Have a couple of small closets not good for much except small things. Well, gonna change that with some new closet organization kits. Am starting to get antsy to unpack rest of boxes and get things in order around here. Been in this boxed up, bit of disorganized mode since April. But first need to paint inside of closets with fresh coat of paint before getting into that project. Gotta get into my trailer this week and get it ready to roll in a couple of weeks as well. It's loaded with all but the staples like paper products, dish soap, etc. and of course food which is a last minute thing anyway.

So off I go here. Have a nice day all.

Good Morning, I'm with Cheryl, too hot to do anything and I am also house crazy!! Maybe all that corn will get picked soon and we can get on with normal summer temps! I laughed at Toby awhile ago, he asked to go out so I opened the door, he stuck his head out and jumped backwards. Said he changed his mind!!!
I ordered an essential oil that my neighbor swears keeps ticks and chiggers from getting on her. She has been clearing a bamboo patch so thought that a good test. It is Rose Geranium Essential Oil- Capitatum x radens available at this sight. http://www.wfmed.com/rose-geranium-esse ... l-to-32oz/ She just puts a drop on ankles and wrists. I'm thinking mostly of trying it on the dogs, myabe a drop between their shoulders or put a few drops in a spray bottle with water. She said she has tried the one that doesn't say Capitatum...and it doesn't seem to work as well, plus has a stronger odor. Being sensitive to smells I tried a dab of hers on my ankle and was ok with it.
Sue too bad the rain missed you. Carolb enjoy your visitors. Your puppers are taking their job seriously, maybe they thought with extra people they needed extra help keeping you all safe from those bad bunny intruders.

BJ, the two house cats that I let go outside stick their noses out the door and change their minds too. They will go out with me about 7 at night. About an hour and they are ready to come back in. I can't imagine being out in a fur coat.

I was up early enough to watch Sunday Morning but they ruined it with politics. I think my TV is muted more that the sound is on.

I made Red Lobster biscuits this morning. My grandson loves them but if I make them with a meal that's all he wants to eat. Maybe if he has some for breakfast he will eat lunch.

Carolb, enjoy your company. I sure enjoyed having lunch with Carolyn. We are hoping Sharon will make a swing by here on her trip.

Working today. Tired from all the activity of the storms yesterday. We had another short but nasty storm hit about 3am with very heavy rains, winds, and hail. Poor Lola was very scared and upset about the noise from the hail, running around crying constantly. Luckily, it didn't last long.

Beautiful day today, sunny with lower humidity. Will probably wait until later in the week to clean out the kayak since i need to get the longer garden hose from the maintenance guy. Will try to blast the sand and debris out with that.

Hope you all have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I'm investigating the Rose Germanium oil, boy that place is pricey: 5 ml bottle $5.99 sounds good until you realize 5 ml is one teaspoon! I'm learning as much as I can about essential oils. So far I use lavender and tea tree the most.
We are off to another scorcher of a hot dry day. Yesterday we peaked at 102 or higher, and by 11 it was still 75. Going to be higher today I believe and some fires are roaring. I can't imagine what it must be like for fire personnel in this heat and next to a fire doing heavy manual labor!
Because of heat we are staying in and hope to fill more bags of saved stuff like plastic containers which I will never use for trash. Saved in past to fill with various things for gifts but have realized that getting rid of them also get rid of the guilt of not making the gifts I've not done. It's actually freeing I'm finding. :D
Future plans include an overnight to a annual 60's picnic of high school friends at our home town and a month later our big 3 day class reunion for my 50th! Wow where does time go!
Stay safe all. It's always fun to hear what everyone is doing even if it's your home not doing much, it's good to hear.

Haven't been online much lately because I have been with my kids, but they have headed south, and I headed north and now am doing a right turn and heading back east. It's been wonderful to spend time with the kids, but it is hard to be tandem camping, so I am happy to be back alone and on the road.

I am a COE campground, Plymouth Park, along the Columbia River (no view) and am really focusing on cutting my costs, so will be staying at some Forest Service and some more COE campgrounds on my way to Michigan and Ohio. Since December 1, 32015, I have spent $3,000 on RV repairs, not counting $1,200 for my MCD shades. Also just spent an unexpected $3,000 on caps for two teeth, one because of a broken tooth and the other because of a cavity at the edge of an old cap! That has REALLY put me behind in my budget, so it is essentials and some cheaper camping for a while. Positive thing is that campgrounds in Florida for October through February are already paid for. That should help me catch up.

Anyway, today is a rest and work day. Cleaned out my refrigerator before I left yesterday, giving away to my daughter-in-law all the stuff I had bought for the kids that I won't eat. Made split pea soup out of leftover ham and froze some extra pancakes I made this morning. Anyway, nice to get back to my old lifestyle after two weeks in Napa and two weeks co-camping.

Yes, it was 'Big event Sunday'! I am so very glad I did this (was feeling overwhelmed with travel at one point and was going to cancel). Got to the venue about 10 for the 1:30 event. Was a mile walk from where the campground shuttle dropped us off. :o The 5 guys in the shuttle with me are from Illinois and here for one's bachelor weekend. Nice guys and they let me tag along. Went to dinner after with them and discovered I didn't have my wallet! Embarrassing, but I'll catch the guy when he comes home.

Now for the next fun of Carolb and O'Sharon coming tomorrow!!

Velda since you only use a very small dab or drop like to wrists and ankles it will last a long time. Besides it is safer. :) Lavender and tea tree are the ones I use most, sometimes I mix a few drops of each.
