Another Swampy Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Another Swampy Day

Mornin' ladies ~~~

Dont' know about you, but I'm sure done with this heat & humidity. Can you say bad hair day? (Actually bad hair week). Not much going on for me. Still in fiscal year crunch mode, but once I get past August 1st, I should be good (well maybe except for my never ending project). Sure hope temps in August cool a bit, or the weekend reservations I have for camping will be cancelled. :(

If anyone saw the ABC network news last night, the Plainfield, IL plane crash in a subdivision was 3 blocks north of my house. From talk I heard, the plane got hit by lightening and just started breaking apart. Poor pilot did not survive. Luckily the woman in the house did not get injured. The debris was over a wide area. I saw pieces at least 1 mile east of the crash and part of the fuselage (possibly the fuel tank from what the neighbor said and the smell) was on the street behind me and propeller was 1 block west. Never know when it could be your time and freak accidents could occur.

Hope anyone in heat or stormy areas is doing OK. Alice, sorry to hear the RV you likes sold so quickly, but if you ever do head to Elkart, let me know :)

Have a good day & stay safe on the roads.
Cheryl

Morning Irish,

Yep, I'm with you. This heat and humidity can leave anytime, although we aren't having it as bad as you are. Been warm, but so far not past the mid 80's. Thanks to the rain that passed through yesterday morning, it kind of washed the humidity out of the air and we didn't make the projected 90's yesterday. Think it topped out around 85 but wasn't too bad. Nice breeze. Nights have been in the 60's so been good sleeping weather for most part. Sticky this morning though. Everything feels damp. I'm like you. i have a camping reservation for first weekend in August and if it's hot and humid. Forget it.

Had a nice GTG with Louise (HavingFunNow) yesterday. We did our periodic lunch together. Yakked up a storm, had a great meal at Bob Evans and then headed home. Not sure what's on my agenda for today . Going to be a little more humid and sticky, so know i won't e doing anything outside. Right now am enjoying a cool but damp breeze in my window here. Probably wind up going to town and maybe hit a garage sale on way in. Also might hang up some more pictures.

Sure has been a quiet summer on the forum. Nobody in mood much for camping or GTG's. Weather probably has a lot to do with it and maybe one of those years where we are just busy with life. I know I haven't been out due to move and getting settled in. Haven't been in mood although as August approaches am starting to get there.

So, guess I will get dressed and get this day going. Keep cool everyone. Those in the cooler air, enjoy. If you are on the road, enjoy travels, keep safe etc.

Good morning ladies
Not a lot going on today for me, will take it easy today, tired of the heat and fighting with the ac. Yesterday the circuit breaker kept flipping. Went through that for a couple hours until it finally stayed on as the sun went down.
Found another Phoenix Cruiser that would work for my budget, this one is in Houston at PPL. It certainly will get sold quickly too. But it is fun to search.
Really dusty out right now, makes the morning look creepy. Need to take my water jug
over to the machine for a fill up. I've gotten a little spoiled buying the bottled water, but
the water here is so hard makes me wonder what its doing to my insides. I already know what it does to the faucets, but s little vinegar takes care of that.
OK, I feel like I'm rambling now. Y'all have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning, Mine hasn't gone the way I had thought. The lady I had a Skype appointment with couldn't connect this morning due to all the weather problems, so that was postponed until Monday. The cleaning ladies came at ten and one had used some type scented dryer sheet that I reacted to almost instantly. I gave them my 'do you know what is in those things' talk and they were amazed. Especially when they saw my reaction. I was barely able to speak as, if something is really toxic, I loose my voice. They both have migraines, no wonder! I am fighting a headache just from the brief time they were here.
We just had a bit of a rain storm that brought temps down for awhile. Forecast is for heat indexes to be 105-110 until Monday. They say it is due to the corn and soybeans sweating! I kid you not that was in the morning paper. But we all know how reliable that is...

CHERYL, I did not see the plane crash on TV last night. But, you are so right about it could happen to us anytime without warning. In 1964, a plane crashed into the backyard of my sisters home, she and her son were badly burnt, her two little girls killed and the house completely destroyed along with five other homes in the neighborhood. It was a horrible tragedy. My sister never recovered from the horror of it and died in an automobile crash about five years later.

Our weather has been hot, 90*, but the humidity is not elevated. Thank heavens. One week from tomorrow I leave for camping!!! Whoop!

Today is the sixth birthday of my Great-Grand-Daughter! Her parents have just broken up in an acrimonious divorce...that is a sad happening...I feel bad for all of them. The Mother wants to keep her daughter away from all of her Fathers family. The Father is my grandson. What a mess!

I'll be glad to get up in the mountains!!! lyn

Never heard that one before!

Another hot, humid day here again. Off to work in awhile. Got a few things done yesterday but like usual, not nearly all the things I wanted/needed to do. Just not very motivated lately. Too much on my mind and just feeling down in the dumps. I have my first appointment next Wednesday with a therapist. I really need to learn how to deal with all the crap going on before I have a nervous breakdown! I really wish I could just up and move south but I just don't have the money right now to afford that, especially with another car repair needed soon. Maybe I can shoot for next spring after the snowbirds start heading back home and there are more choices for places to rent then. Will see... for now, I am stuck here.

That is scary about the plane crash! You can't even be safe in your own home sometimes with planes falling out of the sky! Yikes!

Ava, hope you can find your perfect RV. Sounds like you have figured out what you want tho.

Hope you all have a great day! :D

** Lyn, you snuck in ahead of me. That is so tragic about your sister and her family!! So sorry to hear that, how sad! And also about your GGD and that situation. Hope you enjoy your first camping trip with your new TT!

I went to Lafayette to have lunch with Carolyn today. We yakked until I thought they were going to charge us rent at the restaurant. It didn't seen all that hot because it rained on me several times. I went to a few stores. Bought some shoes just like the ones I wear all the time. My old ones are wearing out and I really like them.

I saw the plane crash on the news but I don't think they knew what had happened when I saw it. We have crop dusters all around us and every year or so one will go down. Our neighbor retired as a crop duster and that doesn't happen often. His son still flys. I don't think I would want my boys doing that.

BJ, my son has had allegories since he was a baby and was allergic to scented diapers. I don't know if it is true but some doctor told me that dryer sheets have fiberglass in them. I never use them or scented soap to wash clothes.

Ava, ever so often I see a Phoenix Cruiser on sale somewhere. That is the only other motorhome I would consider besides a Coach House because they have models with twin beds. I have 2 friends that were full timing in the ones with a corner bed. One lady has bought a house but kept her motorhome to travel in. Do you look on the RV Trader web site? If your water is so hard you are getting your minerals. lol My son put one of the under sink filters in our kitchen but I still have to run vinegar through the coffee maker. I give the cats filtered water and every week or so I have to clean their bowl with vinegar because I can feel the minerals in the bowl. I don't know how much good that filter is doing.

It has been 7 weeks since my last hair cut and I'm back to having bad hair days. I should have called and made an appointment before I start whacking on it myself.

Martha, most people come in to get a haircut (fix) right after trying to cut it themselves! (actually it is a good idea to come in BEFORE you do it yourself!)

Whenever I buy something I really like and decide to go back and get more of them (shoes, pants, shirts, undies, bras) they don't sell them anymore.

One of our stylists decided to call in and quit just 5 minutes before her shift started today. Grrr! Really put us in a bind for awhile today. She is a sweet gal but a lousy hairstylist and not very responsible since her parents pay for everything for her including the rent on the huge lake home she lives in and now just bought her a brand new pontoon boat. (she is in her 30's). She decided to take the summer off and go boating instead!

Another hot day today but supposed to start cooling off this weekend. Found a potential place to rent on CL but haven't heard back from the person who wrote the ad yet. Sounds pretty good tho so will keep my fingers crossed.

Made two BLT's for supper tonight! Yum! Time for bed! Got tomorrow off so I get to sleep in! Yay!
